I have two boys at KSE and am extremely happy and satisfied with the school's administration, academic progress and most of all its teachers. I have no doubt that my sons will be well prepared for middle school and beyond if all their future KSE teachers are equally motivating and invested in every child's success. Thank you to all teachers and administrators who work extremely hard each and every day to ensure that our kids are in a great academic environment!

My 7 year old daughter has been assaulted twice at this school in the last month and I wasnt told a damn thing about it by the school/administration. I had to hear it from her. There is zero transparency with these people when it comes to your kid being hit/assaulted apparently. I dont know what their problem is but I cant wait to move out of the district.

My sons teacher was great to begin with. I really wanted to find so much good in this school but unfortunately I didnt find much. Ratings are sometimes misleading and yet so many factors determine a good school. My son was bullied in this school for a long time by the same kid and the administration didnt seem to bother. The kid was kept in the same class and bus with mine the whole school year. Principal always says well handle and its the same story everyday. My son started disliking school. Dont even start with the bus horrors which are not addressed.

We have two sons at KSE and our experience has been amazing. Our 2nd and 4th graders have been there since kindergarten and each year we feel like we have won the teacher lottery. The teachers are outstanding, exactly what we would hope for our kids. Students are challenged at the appropriate levels, both academically and behaviorally. Whenever we talk about moving to a different school zone to begin the transition to a higher ranked middle school, they beg us not to. They love their school, the diverse friends they have made, and their exemplary teachers. We love the administration as well, from the front office staff to the principal. We also love our crossing guard, Mr. Tim, who greets us with a smile and keeps our kids safe twice a day.

Bottom line, this school is so underrated. Dont believe the ratings on this one.

I was a student here. I loved it, I love the teachers, especially my 4th grade main teacher. He was very funny, sweet and made me obsessed with my favorite musical, Hamilton. His class was a fun environment, me and my friends, I have made over the elementary years, agree that we have created very lovely memories. Some of the teachers do need to realize that we are just kids and shouldn't cry every time they go in those teachers classroom. 2nd grade was fun. 3rd grade went by fast, we did do a lot of hands on activity. I would definitely would recommend this school.

It has been a really great wonderful school for my granddaughter. Even better now that they are back to in person teaching in a brand new school. My granddaughter is very happy here and her progress academically shows it. It is a STEM school and, since she plans to attend Stanford University and UCLA Med, this is a big plus for her basic educational foundation. The Principal is cool and very hands on. She doesn't hide in her office all day with the door closed. My granddaughter also had 2 teachers in the room this year and that helps too. Honestly, I have tried to even think up one negative thing about the school and I can't. It is racially balanced, one of the very few public schools that isn't segregated and I have not seen any signs of racism or the "school to prison pipeline" here at all. They go all out to help my granddaughter if she hits a rut and she is black. I really can't say enough good things about the school. On to the 4th grade!

I went to King Springs Elementary School and was challenged, encouraged and supported by my teachers and the staff in general. I lived very close to the school and found that this enhanced my learning experience. Being walking distance to the school helped curb anxiety and helped my educational experience overall.

My first child at KSE was in Target from kindergarten. She was always challenged and was never bored.

My second child at KSE was slightly below average for reading in kindergarten. Her teacher worked very closely with me to ensure she got the instruction she needed. I did work more with her at home, but I think that should be expected from a parent (not just leave it up to teachers!).

There are always little challenges going on in the school. For example, this past year there was a period of time that you were challenged to give random compliments to people as you saw themjust to brighten someones day!

We love Dr. Szwec! She is great at communicating. She tries to be as transparent as possible with all that is currently going on at the school (new construction). She has a weekly email list that goes out and she answers questions from our school community (anyone can submit a question anonymously and she will answer it).

I feel like the school is actively trying to support students learning differences. I have two children on the opposite side of learning differences and they are both challenged and/or helped along in various ways.

The teachers are fantastic in regard to bullying! We have had some problems and the teachers are quick to address themeven doing an impromptu class lesson/activity about anti-bullying one morning when I frantically emailed late the night before about an incident the previous day at school!!

We love, love, love KSE! This place truly has a sense of community. The PTA is fabulous and is constantly engaging families to participate, the administration is really present and available whenever you need them, and the teachers really go above and beyond with ensuring your child is getting the most out of their education. Id highly recommend KSE to anyone!!!

Kindergarten has no homework beyond reading every night. First and second grade had very little homework (again, reading for 20 min a night and maybe a handful of math problems). Third grade had about the same as well, but sometimes had a few more assignments.

This may be better in the higher grades, but in K-2nd grade, several parents have pointed out that the school has no ability to engage the advanced students. Parents are investing in outside tutoring to keep their kids learning. Target becomes an option in 1st grade, but will the low level of investment in Target in Cobb County, it does little to keep bright students engaged.

Kids are expected to be "TAME". It's an acronym, but an Ill chosen one when it comes to describing human children. Smarter kids finish their work ahead and aren't "TAME" so they told to lower their behavior score on the board. The students come home with this every day, having to show the parent their behavior score and the parent must have a discussing with the kid and sign the form.

I suppose if you want your kid to not be a collaborative individuals, and want them to sit in one place quietly all day, the "TAME" policy and color chart make sense, however as the workplace has pushed to be more collaborative, this whole policy seems ill advised. I don't see why kids need to go through this daily humiliation.

They have great after school science activities, and an administration that cares. I think ultimately this school is targeting the average and underperforming students, and don't have resources for advanced kids. That said, maybe its best to focus on the low achievers knowing that the parents of advanced students have private school as an option.

Personally I expected more from the school, and it didn't meet with the expectations I have coming from the midwest. I do hope the school continues to improve and the kids do well.

Kindergarten and first grade do not overload students with homework. In first grade, they start giving small amounts of homework but it is very manageable.

The principal from this school care too much on awards and show it off. The focus needs to be on the students learning. Weak administration!!

Lack of qualified teachers. 27 to 1 teacher ratio. I have never heard of 2 teachers teaching math. Looks like the blind are leading the blind. KEEP AWAY DONT GO WITH THE SCHOOL RATINGS ! !

i was a student at king springs for 5 years!there is art,music,PE,science,and more fun intresting things there.there are all sorts of cool clubs too!i would definitely recommend your kids or children to go to this school!

I specifically chose King Springs after hearing that they provided STEM classes and have a very involved PTA. I also went here as a young child and it just felt so familiar and an excellent choice for my 2nd year old son. I transitioned him from private school and the curriculum is just as rigorous and keeps him on his toes. The extracurricular after-school activities are a great program for the students. Thank you faculty and wonderful parent-helpers that contribute. Great school... too bad the neighboring middle school does not have the same reviews.

My son entered Kindergarten for the 2013-2014 school year. We absolutely love King Springs. He is appropriately challenged and gets individual and group attention. The PTA is very active which is great. The principal cares a ton about the kids and school. She is a great leader.

My school is excellent! We LOVE King Springs. We came to King Springs in 2012 for 1st grade. We transferred from Argyle's school district. What a huge difference! The staff truly cares about the kids. My daughter is growing into a great student and person. The quality of the families is phenomenal! The parents and PTA are very supportive and friendly. I wish they would just build a middle school on top of Kings Springs so my child wouldn't have to leave!

King Springs Elementary School is by far one of the best schools I have ever been acquanited with. I am the Grandmother of two students at this school. I have never seen such caring and loving staff with a Principal and Assistant Principal that always haas the BEST INTEREST OF ALL STUDENTS. I always enjoy visiting my daughter so I can go to my Grandchildren's school to enjoy a program, visit them at lunch or go to an after school program. I have traveled all over the U. S. and my children attended many schools. I rate King Springs Elementary School #1. My grandchildren have excelled and when they have issues to overcome the teachers and staff have helped them exceed in all areas I know they are very deserving of winning $5,000. Go visit them. You will feel like you are visiting with your family everytime you walk in the doors of this amazing school! I wish my grandchildren could stay there for 12 years not just 5 years...

Our son is in first grade and began King Springs in kindergarten and we couldn't be happier. We moved to this community for the purpose of putting our son in a diverse environment committed to providing our child with the best education a public school can offer. King Springs has met all of our expections and beyond. The staff and administration are dedicated to making this the best school in West Cobb and have achieved this by far. The PTA involvement is outstanding and we definitely feel a strong sense of community. Our son has excelled and looks forward to going to school every day and we look forward to our youngest starting kindergarted there next year.

While the focus on the school is high academic numbers, they are lacking in courteousness, compassion, and warmth. The administrators are cold and not very friendly. When I walk into the front office, all the staff just stares as if I have two heads. I speak but am not greeted in return. I understand it's been a long day dealing with children (i work in a hospital with mentally ill patients but i always smile-fake it til you make it as they say) but you should always at least speak, especially to parents and other vistors. I'm not sure if it's prejudice, reacism, or just plan rudeness. Some of the teachers are friendly and it's obvious they enjoy what they do, but a large majority are just....cold. My niece has come home on several occasions and has told us she overheard her teachers saying mean things about some of the kids in her class. That is not exceptable in my opinion. If you need to vent, vent without the kids around. King Springs may have high marks for academics but has low marks for caring. Looking into moving just to change school zones.

We have been in another county for almost 3 years.... Struggling to feel connected to our new, highly rated, school 's administration. We are a number there. Not enough space here to share the balls that have been dropped. We miss King Springs. We were cared for, academically and personally. Excellent teacher experiences (awesome librarians!) and the administration is engaged and responsive. They raised a flag for us, in kindergarten, (dyslexia) in the form of early intervention. Fancy new school has denied and delayed... kicked the can down the road, until we force their hand. Grrrrr!
