Both of my kids graduated from Sprayberry (2021 & 2025) and both have expressed how grateful they are that we moved into this district vs the other East Cobb schools. Just know that test scores and things you can measure on paper don't come close to telling the whole story. Nothing against the other East Cobb Schools, as everyone has a different perspective and right fit for their kids....but there is something to be said for being at a school that doesn't put additional pressure on kids to perform in the name of ratings. There are repercussions for that which cannot be measured. And as other parents have expressed, diversity and real-world type exposure to a variety of cultures, household income levels, and backgrounds only helps develop empathy and understanding for families who are different than you.

Sprayberry faculty actually encourages all kids to take the SAT or ACT, even if they aren't certain they want to go to college, as the sentiment is that maybe they will change their mind at some point. The school doesn't try to "protect" their ratings for student scores for websites such as this one, which can only use calculations. So the variety of standardized test scores are a reflection of encouragement...not lesser performance.

Don't overlook the value that Sprayberry empirically offers - talk to parents and students that attend(ed) the school, look at the resilient school spirit in spite of the tendency of other East Cobber opinions (who are unfamiliar with the experience of attending the school), look at the excellence in sports programs done with less money and donation/booster funds.

I have put 2 children through Sprayberry and I have a freshman there now and I cant say enough about how great this school is. First off let me say that this school is the most diverse school in all of Cobb County and offers "real world" atmosphere for your child that they will see in college and in their later employment. Second great thing is the school has been completely rebuilt so it is a brand new school with all the new technology available. Also has a great CTE career learning department & superior athletics and the teachers are amazing and so supportive. Both my kids were accepted at UGA after graduating from Sprayberry while their friends at Pope and Lassiter were shut out from being accepted and had to go to school out of state. Best school in East Cobb!

This school is very diverse and has a true perspective of the world. The teachers care and are engaged with the students. The kids are respectful and close. The school should be rated a 8 or 9 on Greatschools, but due to a subjective equity score which doesnt apply to Non-diverse schools, it has a lower grade.

Extensive diversity which is amazing for kids, ISLA program (only school in the state of Georgia to offer this), STEM certified, Marching Band is known state wide for excellence, state of art culinary kitchen just put in and a huge remodel is coming!! These kids, staff and teachers have poured a love of learning and formed a community at this high school and now the outside will catch up to show the AMAZING things happening on the inside! Im excited for my kids to graduate from this school and see the progress of the remodel.

I love the curriculum, the diversity and the teachers at this school. My oldest graduated from Sprayberry in 2016 and went to college at Georgia Tech. Sprayberry prepared her well. My youngest will be graduating from Sprayberry in May. She will also be attending Georgia Tech.

The teachers are amazing. They really care about the kids. I love the STEM program. The teachers always kept me informed. Schools are what you make of it. I believe parents need to be involved in their children's education. We can not place all of the responsibility on the school or the teachers.

As a student of Sprayberry (2022 class) I can honestly say that this school is amazing. The people and staff there are kind and always look out for one another. This school has a lot less of a "judge-y atmosphere" that you would typically see at Lassiter, Kell, Pope, etc. Everyone is welcome and there will always be a place for you at Sprayberry.
Academics wise we aren't too shabby either, kids are encouraged to learn as much as they can but aren't expected to learn all on their own, teachers at Sprayberry actually GUIDE their students rather than letting them swim into uncharted waters all on their own.

My son is a Junior there and we are very please with our decision to stay in this school district and not move. It offers "real world" diversity that the other schools in the area, it allows him to shine academically and it offered the chance to play athletics that might not be able to get playing time at other schools like Walton or Pope. Staff is amazing and attentive and coaches really care about their players succeeding in school. A+ school.

We've had one child graduate from SHS, one child currently a sophomore. Both, who are different types of learners, have had a wonderful experience. They have also enjoyed the wide variety of electives available at SHS as well as community service, fine arts, athletic opportunities. They have loved the diversity of SHS and enjoy the interaction amongst different types of students.

It's a great school,when I first got there I didn't know English or anything else. However, the teachers there worked hard with me and now I am getting good grades.

I have put two boys through there and have my daughter currently there and it has really been a great school. My boys both played baseball and football there, graduated at the top of their class and are now both at Vanderbilt. They loved going there and my 9th grader loved it as well!!

AWESOME!! My family moved to Sprayberry dist from Walton dist and I must say it was the best move I could have made. More diversity, great teachers, just the right size to stand out in and all in all made me feel more comfortable than the larger school Walton and my grades dramatically improved because of this. I loved it!!

The worst of the East Cobb schools. So when researching the schools and you're directed to East Cobb, just act like you don't see Sprayberry. If you are accustomed to professional, efficiency and overall positive experiences, you will be greatly disappointed. However, if you want to have fun, and only care about sports, then Sprayberry is your school.
