This has got to be the worst school my son has ever went to. He went from great grades to failing. His first day the LUNCH LADY told him to shut up in lunch. His teacher only calls to complain but when he ask questions she wont repeat herself. She marks certain stuff wrong on purpose. Grades only what she wants to grade. Its just all a mess. The fact that we are moving to switch him back to Lockheed elementary says alot. Parents warned me but we are new to GA and believe me when I say he wont be stepping foot back into this school after only being there 3 months.

We have had a wonderful experience at Sedalia Park Elementary. The teachers are highly engaged and work well with our son. He is consistently learning how to be ready, respectful, and responsible.

Our son attended the special needs per school for three years and we were very happy with the school and the program. The teachers in the special needs preschool were great, as well as the other instructors who provided his services.

The worst school in Marietta, Ga. Administration is a joke, while they think/pretend that they are the most talented and experienced people in the world. Almost 70% of them behave in an unprofessional manner. A lot of times, we observed that they mistreated students/ minors... if the staff likes you; you can get away with anything... their language in the school area proves that they dont know what an academic institution means. They say anything like to kids. Kids learn nothing unless you help them out. ..teachers dont give homework, use most of their time calling parents related to disciplinary issues. In short, they need to first learn what an academic institution has to offer to improve personal as well as professional skills of 4-11 yrs old kids. They should set an example with their manners. smh!!

I am so satisfied with this school, my two kids attended the school and so compelled by the behavior of teachers and the empathy they have shown in kids emotional well being also.

Toxic work environment! Spend so much time testing, leaving no time for teaching. Social and emotional teaching or celebrations of other cultures is nonexistent.

My experience for the past four years has been terrible. Uncaring teachers. Principle will look me in the eyes, turn up her nose , but never speaks to me. Truly sad examples of educators.

I have found most of the teachers to be uncaring. For example, my first grade grandsons teacher never acknowledges him in the zoom meeting.
My granddaughters third grade teacher is totally insensitive to the fact that my granddaughter doesnt live with her mom and Mothers Day is a difficult time for her. Just a few examples.

It has improved a lot. Class dojo is amazing, teacher keeps us updated on everything and reminders are sent. Also, it is easy to ask something if there are questions. The teacher is very responsive(Ms. Harrison) and very very supportive. Heard the same from other parents too

should give more homework. right now it is not mandatory. But it will good to have them spend about 30 mins everyday doing homework.

I feel the office administration is trying their best to rid the bad association of educators that desegregate the classrooms along with clever & humilating words, such as (your a distraction) (leave my circle) are some of the self defeating phrases that children should be humiliated with

The school might certain teachers just put them in the back of the room. I feel personally if administration is not patrolling these classrooms the teacher can perform her own checks & balances that can cause detrimental harm to a child's educational growth in society

Except when it comes to their teachers teachers are bullies to and when they have this power that they feel that they are controlling and they don't like the way a child looks then they will act out their true feelings on that child because of his color national origin religion Creed and sexual preference

Kindergarten through 2nd grade was great the teachers were wonderful the communication was on point and academic challenge was place in front of each child so that they all would have a chance

Homework is given the beginning of week, some kids finish the first two days, but not check or turned where teacher will except until end of week and she might not take it at all on Friday or child has taken it out of folder then it won't be counted for when teacher decidesv to retrieve it.

Not all teachers, especially some of the more seasoned teachers who are hs Bing trouble with separating the political propaganda that is going on in the world scene they like to keep children separate in their own ways and teaching them at different skill levels and keeping certain children below standard. Only improving the target children or the children with skilled academic skills or if their parent works at the school meaning they are deliberately leaving disadvantaged struggling students a narrow path for success

My daughter has been in this school since kindergarten and I am happy because she always wants to go the school. My daughter has had wonderful teachers always. The diversity is fantastic and the respect is always there. I never listen bulling problems in this school.

We have had a wonderful K-5 experience with our oldest, and our youngest is thriving there still. I am so glad that our kids attend a diverse school with amazing teachers!

My daughter has been in this school since kinder garden and she is happy and her teachers are amazing. We can communicate with them any time. The school has many activities that involve the community and great after school programs. Additionally, they do have ASP which allows parents to pick up their child until 6:00 pm.

Open Quote The worst 2016-17 year! We transferred for 2017-18 to another school because of our experience.
Our child was completely bored, not in the least bit challenged academically. He was nearing the end of first grade and his teacher was still teaching kindergarten grade level material. Most Students are tracking far behind where they need to be grade level wise and therefore the students who are academically on track already do not excel because the teachers dedicate all their time to catch up the remaining 95 of their class.

There are constant behavior issues. I have seen students throw chairs at their teachers.

Major attendance issues.

The administration is very strict and not welcoming to parents. No sense of community in the least even when we had made several attempts to get involved. 22 teachers left after the 2016-17 school year. Close Quote

We have a kindergartner at Sedalia Park and we absolutely love it here! The faculty and staff are always so friendly. There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer and meet other parents. The PTA is always planning a fun activity or festival. We are really looking forward to the next five years!

We were a little nervous about buying in this school district, since the rating is not as high as it could be, but after hearing other parents reviews, we decided to go for it. We cannot be happier! We've got two boys at Sedalia Park and have been attending for 3 years now. The teachers are amazing, pouring heart and soul into the classroom. The front office staff is warm and welcoming and the new principal is very friendly. The PTA puts on all kinds of fun events for the kids and they are very happy there.

My son had preschool speech lessons here. We were very pleased with the the level of attention provided for his specific issues. The teachers here are helpful and supportive - very easy to work with.

I moved to the this school zoning area due to previous comments about Sedalia. I have no complaints. The staff and students are great. My daughter enjoyed her time while attending this school. I could not have asked for a better atmosphere. We definitely need more schools like this one. Kudos to you Sedalia staff, students, and parents.

I went to request a tour several months ago because we were looking at houses in the area. The school was very unkempt on the outside. It took a long time for them to answer the door buzzer, and the office staff was not warm or welcoming. I was not greeted by any of the administrators or even a counselor. I decided not to tour or buy in that district. We are in west Cobb now and very very happy.

Awesome school for my kids. My daughter attended about four years ago and I currently have two boys there. My kids love SPES. I would recommend anyone to bring their kids here. The teachers and staff really cares.

Moved to this school district when my son started 1st grade and this school is a great improvement from his last school! The teachers really care about the learning for their students. I am very happy my son attends here.

Sedalia Park is a great school and I was a student from 2006-2013 ( K-5) and it was a great experience there were 2 principals all my years like Dr. Thomas and Mrs. Lawson. I will miss this school very much because there is no other school like this school.

I have two boys at the Park and I love it. The teachers are great and supporting staff. I recommend the Park all the time.
