Teasley is a fantastic school. Our daughter is about to finish up her 4th year, and our son is finishing up his 1st. They both love it. The teachers are always happy and engaging. Most of the parents want to be involved, and make it a great experience for the teachers, and other students. We have been so fortunate to always have incredible teachers. They are so patient, kind, caring, and give our kids the best guidance!

My kids have been at this school for seven years, and never had a bad teacher - every single primary class teacher has been excellent! There are occasional issues - a difficult Specials teacher, and very tight rules around adult admittance to the school. But when I've had a concern, it has been addressed with respect and a willingness to improve. Overall I've been very happy with the staff and educational program. And the "no homework" policy at the younger grades is fantastic - kids need to move and play at home after learning all day, and this school really gets that. When one of my children had difficulty writing, I was able to ask the teacher for extra resources and have him practice at home only on what he needed to improve.

Today I went to look for information to register my son there and the treatment was very disappointing, the girl who is at the reception does not know how to deal with the public, I asked her questions regarding the school and she only repeated that she would look for the information on the web now. She didn't know anything, I don't want to imagine the rest of the staff, if that's how dealing with new people is, I can't imagine dealing with the others. I was scared with the treatment, a very bad image they give

Be aware that this school does not believe in homework. Your child will go home with no work. We were told this right after enrolling. Also, if you a working parent that loves to be there at events/shows, they are HORRIBLE with planning out things. They will give you extremely short notice when it comes to events or shows your child will be in.

If you are lucky , you might get a good homeroom teacher which happens very rarely.

I have been hearing some bad report about this school far as diversity. My grand baby never has homework, or anything sent home. I don't play when it comes to my grandchild, and I'm going to have a full investigation done on this school. There should be no tolerance for racism in America especially in the school system. I have also read similar report on issue with race and the administration, who in my personal opinion needs to be fired. I've never been to any school where parents don't have access to a building that house their children for over eight hours a day, and that is unacceptable. I have read each review some have experience what I've also have heard about toward my grandson. All children should be treated equally, and if any parent who sees differently should speak up and say something that's part of being a community, as someone stated. I going to continue to do my research and when I'm done, I'm sending letters to everyone...when I say everyone, I mean everyone...This is ridiculous that I or anyone would have to report a school in the 21 centuries about racism, and bad behavior toward children.

Teasley was a disappointment. There are racial disparities that the leadership will not acknowledge. You can see it in the equity and discipline data on this site. The racial issues at Teasley are undergirded and given life and sustainment by the location in Cobb County. Teachers need training on bias, disproportionality and other diversity, equity, and inclusion topics to truly make this a safe school for children of color. While some of the faculty and staff may have good intentions, some do not truly believe that all children can achieve at high levels.

I have seen less experienced teachers at Teasley unable to manage the classroom. And Ive seen experienced teachers with clearly biased behavior. Ive also witnessed some teachers even decorate their classrooms and feature no diverse images. Shameful.

So the little girl with the review with the busted lip they did no ever investigate her problems she was having with the students after school because a review was written they did what they could to get rid of her. She had her lip busted slapped and hair cut and when she started sticking up for herself they decided to build a case on her but never on any other kid that did anything to her they went as low to call parents too but we were never ever notified when she was being taunted by her peers she had to tell us and they never got back to us on not one incident. This is what is what happens when u speak up this is the mind of power the principal that doesnt even call back does it. She had to still be around all the kids that bullied her they never separated them and now they pay attention when the child starts sticking up for herself.

We love this approach. The no homework policy allows kids to be with their families and have less stress in the household due to homework. The kids are getting taught and doing work most of the day at school, so to be able to come home and enjoy themselves, eat dinner, discuss what they learned, play outside, etc. make a lot of sense for everyone in the home. And if a parent wants homework for their child, all they have to do it simply ask the teacher.

The school is homework-free starting this year which as a parent this encourages LAZYness for students and teachers. We barely receive any "papers" home with school work and my child's teacher says they're not trying to work in traditional aspects. There are no test to reflect how kids are doing so parents are clueless until report card!

I've been at Teasley for 3 years and this is debatable.
- Bad kindergarten year with a teacher who should have retired years ago (she's gone now). She would throw snacks away because they didnt fit the policyjust mean especially for kindergarten.
- 1st grade was good. I did appreciate homework and the class testing as this gave me the opportunity to understand where my child was academically and help in those areas.
- 2nd grade has been a challenge because I have no knowledge on what theyre doing in class. They get NO homework, no test, and barely classwork. I feel like theyre WANTING the kids to fail or specific kids to not do well.

The Principal is TOO focused on attendance, dress code, and ensuring enrollment is within the district. There is a parent (to an excellent student) that they blatantly kicked out of the school mid-year because they were a block away from the district, and the school district said the principal would need to make the exception but she wasnt granting any! The principal should be focused more on keeping these gifted kids, and improving while challenging all of the children to do their BEST. This school has the least in population amongst Smyrna schools so of course they would have an OK score.

Overall Teasley needs some improvement with leadership, teachers, and the racial undertone at the school. This needs to be addressed, and I dont think it can be with this principals shallow but smug approach. I wouldnt recommend the school.

Teasley went above and beyond to create an environment where my son could thrive in kindergarten. Mr. Bailey was incredible at creating a productive team environment, the exploratory trips and field days were a major hit, and going to the school's full scale production of Little Mermaid was an awesome end to the year!

We have LOVED Teasley! I have two kiddos there now, and another joining them next year. Im grateful for the small town feel in such a big elementary. We have loved each of the teachers my kiddos have had. They are challenged and loved Ana encouraged and had their eyes opens to different cultures and ideas.

My child has been at this school since 1st grade, now in 5th grade. The reviews here sound good, but Teasley is just ok.... It all depends on which teacher you get. There are a couple of really good teachers, but unfortunately far more worthless ones. The reviews about ASP are spot on. They are beyond unprofessional and should all be replaced.

The school has the worst after school program. Please do not send your children to the ASP at Teasley Elementary School. I encourage to either find another school or do not send your child here. Ms. Mansfield is an amazing Principal. She knows the ins-and-outs of all that takes place at Teasley. She shows respect and love for the children and she is wonderful even with younger siblings who aren't at Teasley yet. She seems to know the name of every kid at Teasley as well as the names of their siblings and parents! I feel like we had one teacher that was okay, but not outstanding, and she didn't last more then a year at Teasley. Ms. Mansfield wants the best for our kids.

Teasley is extremely diverse. The school embraces the differences, teaches about different cultures and instills respect for each other. Students who have good behavior, good attendance, perform well academically, shown high levels of improvement throughout the year, show integrity, and are good citizens are recognized both every day using behavior chart systems and compliments from staff as well as at the end of each semester with awards.

My daughters (3rd grade and Kindergarten) have a reasonable amount of homework that is related to what is taught in the classroom. It isn't burdensome. It gives me, as a parent, a chance to learn what my children are learning in school and support the teachers' lessons.

If there is every a problem, I sent the teacher an email so she is aware and can monitor the situation. I would also say Teasley has two amazing counselors that are there to help with things like bullying and other things students are faced with these days. They have so many tools and avenues to reach the children and usually the children have no clue that they are intervening. Teasley is pleased with great teachers and counselors that stay involved in what is going on so they can help when needed.

Ms. Mansfield, knows all the children and is an active participant in the day. You will always see her around the school. I would have to say the leadership at Teasley is the best! They really try and get to know all the students and parents. They want it to be a community where you can come volunteer and be part of your child's journey through school. The leadership keeps the teachers and staff motivated so it is fun environment for all. I feel like they have a good understanding of homework. They use it to help reinforce what the students are learning in the classroom. The teachers really want the students to read at night and I feel like that is huge! Also, they don't overload the students with homework. Children in elementary school should play and not be stressed about homework.

My daughter is in 1st grade at Teasley. We are absolutely thrilled with everything about this school. She is challenged and loved and happy. This is what I look for. Mrs. Mansfield is an amazing principal. Wow. She cares about this school and her kids (as she calls them) more than any principal I've ever seen. As a former teacher, I know what goes into making a school great, and Teasley has it figured out. WE love the diversity of the school. The parents are highly involved, and the community feel is great. I cannot even process why this school would have a 6 rating. To me, this school is a 10/10. I am thrilled sending my baby (and future Tigers) there every day.

This is my son's 1st year at Teasley and he started in the 1st grade with Mrs. Hamrick. Overall he has had a really good experience with the school and his teacher. Prior to attending Teasley he was at a small christian school in Smyrna that prepared him well academically (reading, phonics, and math), however, the curriculum and culture was not a long term fit. We sought out Teasley after reviewing the historical IOWA and CRCT scores (CCSD website), student diversity, gifted programs, afterschool programs, and a few tours/coffee hours with parents/teachers. As a professional who has worked on the administrative side of public, charter, and private schools I would strongly recommended taking into consideration all of these factors when making your decision as to a school fit for your child and family. Great schools should be only 1 component of your overall assessment of a school and its community where ever you live. While there is great info from reviews the hard data is a few years behind as well as some of the programming. Pros: Local community feel, parental engagement opportunities for working & non-working parents, student diversity, opportunities for more challenging homework/classes, afterschool extracurricular (Robotics, STEM, Chess, Arts, etc.) Cons: Morning carpool line (I don't know one that is good). I gave it a 4 because it has not been a whole year yet and I am still learning about the school culture.

The staff is amazing!!! My Children came from another school district and I thought that they were going to struggle academically, since it was a different curriculum. However Mrs.Thompson, Mrs.Hamrick are awesome teachers. Both keep me informed on my kids progress, all of the staff communicates very well, and my twins really love this school. I am praying that I find a house that is zoned for this school. Great School!!!!

AMAZING TEACHERS. I have not been disappointed at all. Our principal keeps our classes small. For 2 years my son had a class of only 14-15 students. The one on one attention he received was amazing. BUT, even with or without small class size the teachers seem to be able to navigate - and teach- by breaking up the class into smaller groups and creating intimate times of teaching. This year my daughters 2nd grade class has 2 teachers and 28 students (14:1 = great ratio) and my son's 4th grade class has 23 students and 1 teacher for 4th grade.

my children go to Teasley and whenever there has been an issue with another student during class the teacher talks it through with the children or child in a kind and thoughtful manner- encouraging trust and communication = integrity. I am so thankful for this attribute that Teasley carries.

After living abroad for four years, we brought our son back to finish 5th grade at Teasley. He loved Teasley during Kindergarten and first grade. We were very happy to find the school even better than it was. Administration, faculty, support staff, PTA, and everyone else my son interacted with were caring, proactive, professional, and competent. The student body is a snapshot of American demographics. Wonderful to see so many ethnicities learning and playing together. The greatest thing to see is how these students don't pay attention to issues that their parents occasionally get stuck on. We are glad to be back in the U.S and we are so fortunate to have watched our son finish elementary school at Teasley.

Teasley is a fabulous school because of the extraordinary teachers, wonderful principal and committed community of active parents .The teachers at Teasley are unbelievably committed to the individual academic and personal growth of all of their students. Ms. Mansfield greets every child (700+ students!!) by name in the am with a big smile and is so gracious and appreciative to all parents that volunteer. The sense of community through the PTA and the PAWS Foundation is wonderful. With Spirit Nights at local restaurants, an Outdoor movie night on the Lawn and a wonderful International Night that celebrates the wonderful diversity of our community, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The After School program offers amazing programs (at additional fees) that include languages like French and Spanish, Hip Hop Dance, Karate and Kids Yoga and Robotics. If you are considering Teasley, call the school and ask when there is a tour because it is wonderful to see yourself but to also meet some parents and ask questions yourself!

We love Teasley! We have been at Teasley for 4 years and have a 1st and 3rd grader. Our kids have been challenged academically and have had excellent teachers who care about the kids and want the best for them. Our kids love going to school. The current Music specialists are very talented teachers and offer the kids many opportunities to shine. Principal Mansfield has done an amazing job of leading Teasley through challenging curriculum changes. She is the warmest, most caring principal and knows all the kids by name. Teasley has lots of involved parents and PTA volunteers. We couldn't be happier at Teasley.

The one star parent is right and although the parents don't won't to see it written related to the bad about their school, such is life. Teasley is closely connected with the community, the school has good ratings, and some good teachers but there are problems with administration, correct placement of teachers, parent input, and a loving vs robotic, stale environment. You take the good with the bad at every school but just be prepared that ratings don't tell the whole story at Teasley.

I have a fifth grader at Teas ley and will be sad to leave Teasley when she moves on to middle school. We've felt blessed that she has had wonderful, supportive teachers. We originally went to Teasley to "try out" the public school system before going to private school, but decided to stay based on the positive environment. Although Teasley has grown while we've been there, the sense of community has remained the same. I feel the teachers give meaningful feedback on my child's strengths and weaknesses and, despite the fact that she has been working above grade level, have pushed her to grow and excel. I am happy with the administration and love that they are frequently in the classrooms, keeping a close eye to make sure they are fully aware of what goes on throughout the school. I think the standard attire uniforms have created a positive atmosphere as well. I just can't say enough...go visit for a tour and see for yourself!

To the parent who posted "The previous one star review offers a lot of conjecture",being a part of a community is also about being able to express your views. Thank you for sharing yours now allow me to share mine without your judgement. Three of my child's former teachers, who were exceptional, have left the school stating they were being targeted by the principal. I will not go into details but these are teachers that I know and trust. I have volunteered in their classrooms and witnessed first hand how they implement the standards and provide challenging and supportive work environments. Other teachers I have talked to have witnessed these teachers being given poor evaluations and they are running scared...right to other schools. Principals need to be exceptional leaders and managers and Ms. Mansfield has managed to get rid of certain teachers she wants out while ignoring the teachers who are not doing what they are supposed to be doing (my child had 2 of those as well and let's not even start with the ASP teachers.) Thank you for considering my thoughts and understanding my experience does not need to be judged just because it is different from yours.

Teasley is an awesome school. Our son just entered his second year at Teasley (1st grade) and we are extremely impressed with the entire Teasley community. The teachers love the children and the curriculum is on par with any private school. We also love how strong the PTA is and love Teasley's diversity; something you can't often get in a private school. Save your money and join the Tiger community!

My daughter is in 1st grade at Teasley and I could not be happier. The staff has been wonderful. Even though it is a large school it feels small in that everyone knows everyone. I truly feel like the teachers care about their students. The PTA does a great job in raising money and keeping the parents engaged. I truly hope we can roll the great momentum up to the middle schools and high school here in Smyrna!

The previous one star review offers a lot of conjecture and very little substance. Sorry that you've had a bad experience. My has been up and down with really great moments and some not so great. The great moments were the result of the efforts of teachers and the parents that create the Teasley community for the students. Teasley has some great teachers, there is no disputing that. The heart of Teasley is the teachers. Regarding the administration, like any school, the administration deals with a lot of issues from a lot of parents and they are doing the best they can. It is a very tough job and not being perfect, they don't always get it right. It's a work in progress with people in relatively new roles. The bottom line is that Public schools are there to serve the community and Teasley wants to be the best school it can be. Sometimes it comes up short, so instead of writing a self-satisfying, axe to grind review; how about offering some insight so perhaps changes can be made and future parents and children can have a better experience than you did. That is what being a part of a community is about.

My child has attended Teasley for the past three years. I have been extremely pleased with the teachers, administrators, and overall feel of the school. The principal, Ms. Mansfield, is absolutely wonderful! She knows all the children and cares deeply about each one. In addition, she provides a warm, welcoming environment for parents. It is clear that her main goal is the make sure each child is doing their very best. During her time at Teasley, Ms. Mansfield has hired top notch teachers. We have been at Teasley for 5 years. I have been amazed at the changes over these years. I know that these changes have started with our administration. Our principal has given great leadership as she has poured into our students, teachers and parents the pursuit of excellence in education and heart for the community there. The kids know by the hugs and the positive messages she speaks into them each day. Teasley has something incredibly special with the diversity, the passion for kids' success, the programs and activites offered that augment the education, and the genuine care for everyone to work together to make these kids enjoy coming every day! Teasley Elementary is a fantastic elementary school! The faculty and staff are so loving & caring with each individual child. Leslie Mansfield, the principal, treats every child as if they are her own. She truly cares deeply about the successes of each student. The parents are encouraged to volunteer and be present in the daily academic lives of the students. The renovations that will take place over the next year and a half are only going to enhance the school's ability to serve the Smyrna Community.

We are in our fifth your at Teasley with a 4th grader and 1st grader. Leslie Mansfield, the Teasley principal does a fabulous job advocating for her staff and also supporting the parents. She is very personable and knows each child by name. The grade level teachers and special teachers are caring and go above and beyond their regular duties and expectations. There are ample enrichment opportunities at Teasley with after school programs and various clubs/chorus. There are lots of opportunities for parents to volunteer at the school with a very active PTA and Foundation. Would highly recommend Teasley to families in our Smyrna community.

Teasley has very caring and concerned teachers willing to go above and beyond to help children. My child was struggling during the 1st quarter with math and reading (we were alerted to this through an academic alert which gets sent home at mid-term when any child is at risk of getting a C (or 1) on their report card.) We met with the teacher and she informed us of the specific areas my child needed to work on. Because of that extra work and communication with the teacher, my child was able to bring the grades up. All of my child's teachers through the years there are very responsive to email and/or scheduling a meeting if needed.

We have had children at Teasley for the past 5 years. We could not have been more pleased with our boys' educational experiences there. The teachers are wonderful and always receptive when I have reached out with questions or concerns. My boys have thrived there. The administrative staff is also amazing. They are always at the doors greeting students or in carpool line helping students come in for the day. They are very visible, not behind the scenes and are also receptive to parental concerns. Finally, the school has an active PTA and Foundation that work together for our school. We have been lucky enough to have a supplemental science teacher the past 2 years and the position was completely funded by our Foundation. I cannot say enough good things about Teasley, great school!

Have been thrilled with Teasley. Principal Mansfield has been AWESOME and the new construction is going to really be fantastic!! Have one child in 2nd and another soon to start Kindergarten in the fall. Our teachers have been TOP NOTCH!! Best little school in Georgia!

Teasley offers a great deal to students. I have two children in Teasley and a third will begin next year. The teachers are excellent and I feel my children are doing well enough that they will be able to get into a good private school in middle school if we choose that route. I am happy with the variety of extracurricular activities offered and the flexibility they have had in offering things when there is demand. Right now the school is about to undergo a huge construction project to expand and update the school. It speaks volumes for the school that the involved parents took so much time to work with the school board to get the previous overcrowding problem resolved. Parents want to send their children to Teasley because it truly is a great school.

We started at Teasley in 2011 and I now have 2 children in 2nd and K grades. Each child (as most parents can agree) learns, acts, and responds completely different from the other. Yet - each is thriving with their teacher. Parent involvement is encouraged at Teasley and the teachers, and especially our principal, Ms. Mansfield, has created an amazing atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and appreciated. Both of my children are thriving and I know they are well cared for while they are there - it makes a Mom feel great.

My son has been going to Teasley since Kindergarten and my son loves it! His teacher is very passionate and cares about him doing well and take the time to give him the attention he needs. The principal (Mrs Mansfield) is very dedicated and the kids love her too!

This is my 5th year at Teasley and I have seen this school grow with unbelievable strides. I was a little nervous to hear that my soon to be 1st grader would have to switch building this school year to allow for improvements at the main campus. After hearing and seeing how our principal has gone to back for our babies to make sure they are safe and comfortable at the new building has made me very happy. She really cares about our kids. My daughter and I are looking forward to share in this experience. And I will support this school 100%.

Teasley is a fantastic group of close knit families with fantastic teachers and staff, all led by a principal who bleeds purple and works hard to make Teasley "the best little school in town". We love Teasley!

Teasley has been a great school for my son. He loves his teachers and going to school everyday. I have been impressed with the principal who goes out of her way to welcome parents and say something positive about their child. My son is growing academically and I definitely feel like we are a team (his teachers and I) working together to make sure he is successful.

Academically Teasley is a good school. The teachers follow the curriculum and the students learn however there needs to be more "diversity" in this school when it comes to teachers. It is more then noticeable when you walk in the classroom that the children are culturally diverse and the teachers should reflect that or at least have training. All students should be treated the same.

This is my daughter's 3rd year at Teasley (entering 4th grade) and I couldn't be happier with her progress. Parental involvement seems to be limited to just the select percentage who can afford to be actively involved (SAHMs, for instance). There are a lot of extracurricular activities for the children and my daughter has excelled in all areas. The teachers keep the children safe and motivated. The staff is friendly and warm. I just wish they would give parents more notice of assemblies and such. The day before is NOT enough time to show up to support your child.

Teasley has fully met and exceeded expectations for my children. Teachers and staff are committed and caring. The facilities are small but an expansion is under way. Parental involvement cannot be more tangible than through the private Foundation funding (parent donation) of a Science Specialist position benefitting all grades. No other elementary school in the Smyrna or South County area has one. I can't think of a more relevant and impactful way to supplement the academic challenges our kids are facing today.

The new leadership is horrible and ineffective. We have been at Teasley for five years and the past two years have been the worst. The teachers in the upper grades have poor classroom management skills and poor teaching skills. The 4th grade parent below is correct in that no curriculum has been communicated to the parents all year. They had a math open house which made it clear they can't teach math. Additionally, they don't even try to work with the parents. In the meantime, the administration and PTA constantly solicit the parents for money for various projects but have no regard for the students. Under the prior leadership they would have never been able to get away with this. It's no wonder our lovely school has declined from a 9 to a 7 under this leadership.

My son has been at Teasley since 2nd grade and he is now in the 4th grade. (2012-2013) This has been the worst year by far. The teacher's do not keep the parents informed. My child was failing and I never knew until he received his report card. there's not a protocol in this aspect and this doesn't display my son best interest. He did not get the opportunity to work toward making a better grade. These teachers are unprofessional and the counselor is very unprofessional. There has been several incidents that involved teachers yelling at children and it was reported to the superintendent however this is still going on and nothing is being done about it.

Teasley has an experienced staff and great parental involvement. The leadership is warm and welcoming. However, there is a small percentage of students at Teasley being underserved. There are no advance learning opportunities for K- 2 students who do not qualify for Target (gifted education). For the caliber of students that Teasley receives each year, one would expect more enrichment or acceleration options for above average students. As many parents have noted in their review, Teasley has quite a few students entering 1st grade on a 2nd grade reading level, but if they don't meet a set of 3 criteria (one being scoring in the 99th percentile) their only options for acceleration and enrichment are random rigorless home projects.

I do appreciate the higher standards of teaching. However, I feel that the teaching staff is not diverse enough to represent the majority of their students. There are plenty of qualified "minority" teachers however Teasley seems unable to attain any. I also do not understand why the staff is so callous when dealing with parent inquiries and concerns. As a parent I should be comfortable with asking questions and voicing my concerns. Racism is prevalent everywhere, after all this is the South. I just feel that it should be better disguised.

I have two daughters at Teasley Elementary. I have been completely satisfied with this school since my now 5th grader started in the 2nd grade. My youngest daughter just started Kindergarten this year and wakes up every morning wanting to learn. Her teacher really pays attention to each individual kid and know what their strengths and weakness are. One of the strengths of Teasley is the parents participation and involvement. When I hear parents complain about the school, I notice that these are the parents that do not get involved with the school. I have notice a huge difference in my kids learning abilities when they see my husband and I getting involved and know what is going on with the school each week. There is no perfect school in the state of Georgia but Teasley is one of the best elementary school in the Cobb County.

My son is in the 1st grade at Teasley. He had a very successful year as a kindergartener last year. He finished the year reading on the 2nd grade level. His teacher was focused and excited about teaching. Communication from the school was excellent. The community of parents is very friendly and comfortable. I am pleased my son attends Teasley. We plan to send our twin daughters next year for kindergarten.

Teasley Elementary is overrated. This is my son's first year at Teaseey and I am very disappointed. I moved to this school district because I heard Teasley is the best school in the area. If that is true, then the children of Cobb County are in trouble. The support staff is not friendly. They respond to your questions with short answers and it always seems like you're bothering them. Being a new parent to the school, I had a lot of questions about how the schools works and their policies that I feel went unanswered. Also the school recently hired a science specialist to teach the children. My only problem with this that one teacher spends one week with a grade and then rotates. Children should be exposed to science more. The school is drilling the students for their standarized test instead of actually teaching them. A parent should not be this concern with their child's school this early in the school year.

Teasley is a great little school. My son loved his kindergarten class and we felt he achieved a lot during the year. We are excited to have our daughter start kindergarten this year and hope she has a great year too. Hopefully first grade will be a wonderful year too. The school is overcrowded but the staff it great and somehow makes it work. Thank you!

Our son completed his Kindergarten year last year and we are so excited for the start of first grade. We had a great experience last year and our son's teacher and parapro were phenomenal! Teasley is a great school with caring teachers. Our prayer is that first grade was just as rewarding and positive as Kindergarten, or even better.

We have had nothing but positive experiences at Teasley for past 2 years. We looked at several private schools before choosing Teasley and feel our child is getting a better education here. The new principal has been a breath of fresh air and is very involved around the school (she know my child by name). I have been very pleased with how the PTA and PAWS Foundation support the school with extra resources, including a science teacher for this coming year. I have always felt welcomed and my volunteer time appreciated there.

Now this is funny. My child transferred from Teasley to another school. The now Teasley principal use to be the Assistant Principal of my child s new school got it? Well, while at the Principal s former school, and they knew my child had transferred from Teasley, the now Teasley Principal said to my child while she was the AP of her former school, What do you think this is, Teasley? Hmm, that should tell you the reputation of the school. How ironic though. I thought the comment was demeaning to my child as I think there were social class undertones to it.

Teasley is a school that is declining in quality fast. My child went to kindergarten here and I could not have asked for anything more. The first grade teacher was very good as well. The second grade teacher was ok but as the children got older the disciplinary problems started to come up. We remove her from the school 1/2 way through the third grade and put her somewhere else. She was not getting homework from her teacher and she was receiving very little attention because the class was so disorderly. We also used ASP and found several of the staff quite disrespectful to the students. I was at this school every day to pick her up and never missed an event there. My x-wife also sat in on classes several times and we shared the same opinion on everything. When we started talking to some of the other parents we found out that they had the same opinions and concerns. Where my child is now is like night and day. The school is clean, upbeat, respectful and fun. I am glad we moved her and I regret we did not do it sooner. It will be interesting to see how the CRCT scores are.

Teasley is a great school! Whomever wrote the comment on January 9,2012 obviously does not spend ANY time up at the school. The new principle is VERY involved with the students and the parents and there is a ton of parental involvement! We have a new principal and vice principal this year (2011-2012) and they are doing a great job! This is our 4th year at Teasley and we are happier now than ever!

I'm a parent of three and bought our house for Teasley. Each of my children has been treated as an individual and thrives in the environment. There are so many opportunities both academic and athletic after school available through school and ASP enrichment programming. We would not change our choice in elementary schools in any way.

I was reading this comment written back in September 2009 "Teasley was once a great school, but it is now riding on its reputation. The principal does not take the concerns of parents into consideration, and is often dismissive. Parental involvement is spotty and has gone way down over past years. In higher grades safety and discipline have become real problems".... It is now 2012 and I think the exact same way as this other parent wrote. Teasley's reputation is misleading, I am glad my child is no longer attending this school.
