This school is an absolute dump and the teaching quality is pathetic. I am beyond disgusted after my son was forced to stand in a filthy area while lining up, only for a roach to crawl off the wall and onto his body. When he reported this, the roach was simply swatted onto the floor and killed, but the nightmare didnt end there.
He was sent to the office to be seen by a nurse, but they failed to do their jobs. Instead of actually intervening and checking him properly, they just sat there asking questions. They only took action when my child had to kindly ask them to do so. It is clear they are not real medical professionals.
To make matters worse, the staff and the principal did absolutely nothing to help. My son was actually mocked for being upset, and the principal just watched and thought the whole situation was funny. I confronted her immediately and made my anger very clear. They refuse to take any accountability for this hostile and unsanitary environment.
I am withdrawing my son immediately. If any health issues arise from this, we will be taking legal action. This is completely unacceptable. Instead of cleaning up their raggedy building, they are only worried about protecting their reputation.

A below average elementary school. School has decent teachers, but this school has a terrible record of having hired unacceptable school administration staff.

My son started here in third grade. In the beginning I was hesitant about him starting here, because of the ratings. I toured the school and I was very impressed with all the teachers and staff. My experience and my sons teaching has been nothing but positive. He had been encouraged to grow challenge himself. All his teachers have been amazing. Mr. Yoder is beyond words can express. Always helping families out. Always present. I am glad to have been with Fair Oaks.

My daughter has been at Fair Oaks Elementary School since kindergarten and now in fifth grade. She has received the best education. From a young age she was tested for gifted services and since then has benefited from the gifted program. So thankful for the resources, help, and support.

I love the leadership at this school. The principal is so attentive to the parents and the students. He does a hand shake with my children. He treats all the students with love, care and respect. When my kids and others didnt have money for Kona-Ice, he paid for them. The assistant principals all knew my kids by first name. The front office staff are amazing. They really care and really help the parents and students. I love this schools leadership team.

Great school for my daughter. The front desk is exceptional with greeting, and screening all entrants. My daughter's teacher is very caring and makes an extra effort to communicate with me about my child - so much that we have gotten her reading above her reading level. The principal is accesible and you can tell when you enter the door that the school has support from the business community and parents.

As soon as you walk into this school, you know that there is something special about it. Parents are greeted as soon as they walk in and teachers communicate in various ways to keep parents updated on their children.The teachers are extremely dedicated and work so hard. Their test results have improved so much the past couple of years that they were recognized by the state. The kids at the school are amazing and most of them come in speaking no English and leave with an incredible education from Fair Oaks. Fair Oaks is really great of doing their best to meet the needs of all learners and it is evident in their data, lessons, work ethic and students. Come in and take a look...you'll be amazed!

I agree with the previous parent. The school has oodles and oodles of text books. There is a great lack in parent involvement, but the dedication the teachers have to their students makes up for the lack in parent involvement. The school is not failing. As a matter of fact, it has been recognized nationally as a school for huge growth across the curriculum (because they have done so well in the past few years). The school communicates every week. I get a school wide folder every Tuesday with information about the school, events, and my child. And yes, the majority of children who go to the school lack language skills, but come on people, who can't use a little diversity.

Don't know where that parent got the idea there are no text books at Fair Oaks. There are plenty of text books, and over 90% of the students met or exceeded their curriculum standards on their end-of-year standardized testing, despite the fact that over 90% of the students enter the school speaking NO ENGLISH! I would suggest looking at the actual testing data before believing anything (good or bad) that one parent claims. Fair Oaks was one of the highest performing schools in the state for the 2011-2012 school year .

This school has no textbooks and most the kids are failing. I chose to home school because i would not let my kids step foot in this school i know all the kids in the neighborhood who go here and they are doing poorly, it is not their fault because if you look at the school test scores the school is doing poorly too. I've had to tutor kids that have a great want to learn but barely know anything. that is a lack proper teaching and resources. Where is the money going??
