Hello, I graduated from 8th grade in 2026 now going to ninth grade, and the teachers here are not too rude but, they are disrespectful, I break down alot (cry) so when people yell at me I get emotional. And the teachers there feel like detached robots that only care about their life, other than talking about the topic of the lessons, they have to tell us their life story and when we do something wrong, even the littlest things, they put all the weight on our shoulders. Wouldn't recommend if you want a school that actually cares about you and not them selves.

This school is terrible in terms of education. I find that my child, hates being there, because the teachers do not care to teach, and certainly dont care to check in with grades. I understand that it is a childs job to be responsible, but how are they meant to be responsible, when the adults there are not caring about teaching?
The utter ignorance of racism, etc. in this school is abhorrent. My son, had been called slurs, and nothing was done about it. He went to the counselor, reported it, and even when they told him it was handled the ignorant child was back at it again.
Do better Harlem.

this school is a horrible place do not send your kids here they will hate there middle school experince

My daughter really enjoyed going to Harlem Middle school. She was super nervous at first but I think she adjusted rather well. I know she complained a bit about not having enough time to run all the way back to her locker to swap books but my daughter is also a pack rat and is pretty disorganized. I'm fairly certain this was a contributing factor. My daughter was also involved in choir. She absolutely loved it. Overall, the school is brand new. The times I went inside it was quite nice. I got to tour a few of the classrooms and was quite impressed especially with the STEM and Chemistry/Biology type labs.

This is my child 2nd year at this school , the staff cares about all the kids . The look of the school has nothing to do with the child educating , what the school offers to the student is to do your best , what ever it maybe that's very important . The school is getting the child ready for the future ahead of him or her. Parents should get more involve with the school .

This school is very old and the staff is very detached and impersonal. They operate like robots and there is no student accountability for grades. They let the kids make up all kinds of work when they're just being lazy and it seems to be more about teachers ratings in school grants and the kids actually learning. A lot of the teachers don't even seem to care to be there. This is kind of standard for Harlem schools.

The school and teachers are caring and concern about the children, but the teachers give too much leniency to turning assignments in. My son needs to learn how to do his work and turn it in when it is due. The teachers gave him too many opportunities to do and turn assignments in. He is in sixth grade and should learn to pay the consequences of not doing his work and turning it in on time. It is okay the first nine weeks, but, for the rest of the year he needs to show responsibility. I am trying to teach him at home with his homework and chores. Please help me teach him to do what he is suppose to do and when he is suppose to do it. Thank you.
