We were a military family and my children attended this school from 2016-2019. They always tried to pressure me into putting my son on adhd medication. He didn't need it and since relocating, not one of his teachers has ever said that he needs medicine. He just needed time to mature. And my daughter. She's always been an eager learner. Always made all A's and one B at this school. Never failed. In her 2nd or 3rd grade year they tested her for the GT program. Said that she didn't have leadership skills. So we relocated and at her new school she made all A's and they put her into the GT program without her even having to test for it (5th grade). She was also invited by the Department of Education to Washington, D.C. to their Junior Leadership Camp (recommended by one of her teachers/an invitation only program). She was also invited to programs that are sponsored by high government departments. Parents, please advocate for your children. Do not let this school tell you who your child is. I'm sharing this late because I came across the form that the counselor completed stating that my daughter didn't qualify for GT.

As a military family, we have gone through 2 other elementary schools for my now 4 grader, and Prek students. I cannot say enough positive things about this school, it's staff, and community!
My kids come home everyday excited to teach me what they learned, the friends they've made, and how excited they are to go to school the next day!
There have been a lot of family included events, that we have enjoyed. The communication from the school and teachers is way above par too.
I do have a child with two diagnoises, and an IEP for learning disabilities. The SPED and support team are phenomenal! I highly recommend this school!

My child has had the most supportive, amazing teachers and speech therapist. The faculty goes above and beyond to see that her needs are met. So thankful she's in this school!

To say I dislike this school is an understatement. To be fair, we came from out of state, from a school district that struggled with funding, but made up for it in the excellence of the staff. I assumed all schools were that way. This one proved me wrong. I strongly dislike this school, and would recommend finding a different one in Columbia county. If you go to schooldigger.com you can see that they are not in the same league as the rest of the district.

My daughter loves Brookwood. And so do I. So much to keep her wanting to go back everyday.
