Moved new to the area last year and my daughter started at Steven's Creek. Coming from out of state from a nice newly built school with modern classrooms, I was disappointed by the building my child would spend her days. The first few months of school work came back with failing marks and then passing marks and then failing marks again. She dragged going to school in the morning. I about lost my mind trying to pinpoint if it was the school culture, the teacher, or just the out of state move, and then I received a note she tested into the gifted enrichment progm called Horizons. She agreed to give it a try, and now adores this school and asks to get dropped off early. The teachers were professionals in evaluating what was going on and changed the instruction so she is now motivated to learn and is learning a lot. Steven's Creek also has a lot of parents (and grandparents) who volunteer their time when asked and donate materials for classroom activities and projects.

For in hopes of a great school based on their accomplishments and ratings we were severely let down. Discrimination and byass from staff has been upmost the worst experience we have had from any school system. Being located in a wealthy area certain students get privalges that others don't. The bus driver we have does not allow boys and girls to sit together which fuels this boy vs girl complex. Another issue is that our student was not allowed to use their phone to call us when the they found out the bus was going to be over an hour late. To say the least, we are very disappointed with this school and will be looking to relocate.

I have had nothing but good experiences with this school, from the bus drivers, to the reading program, the homework folder, the teacher's emails, the bus line for pick ups, the PTA, the dance, the cafeteria, the library, and the AR360 book reading.

We are a military family and specifically moved into the Stevens Creek school zone because of the school's high ratings. We have not been disappointed. My son's first-grade teacher is a gem. The children are allowed to truly shine with gifted programs as well as school-wide enrichment projects. I found the principals and counselors to be very open and receptive. The PTO is active and volunteers are welcome in the classroom. We are about to move on and I wish I could transplant Stevens Creek to our new duty station.

Last year, my 1st grade child's teacher was missing more than half of the total school days. So many time, there was no substitute teacher. I can tell the children were so behind and struggling in class. It was no surprise that SCE was ranked 131st in Georgia this year, dropping from 31st. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!

Best school ever. Admin is awesome. Teachers are awesome. Only 2 disadvantages: you have to live in Westlake to be in the gifted program and if you're child has even the slightest learning disability like my son has dyslexia, there is absolutely NO help whatsoever. They will literally run you out if they think you bring down the test scores. Thank god we have am excellent private psychologist.

For me and my family, Stevens Creek Elementary is the best public school in the CSRA. From an academic perspective, it is above par. In addition, parent and community support is great. These are the components we need for our children to have great success in school and in life. Administrators are ver helpful. The best.
