Our daughter is in Pre k at this school and absolutely loves every day of it. She was upset when she had to go on holiday break in Dec! She loves her teachers and she is thriving here. She is progressing in math, ELA and gaining confidence every day. All of the faculty and staff are so friendly and it really feels like family here!

My son started in PreK at CEMCS this school year. So far he's learned how to sweep, fold laundry, use a screwdriver and a hammer (child safe ones) and other practical life skills. I also love their Second Step curriculum, which teaches social-emotional skills like conflict resolution and identifying and managing their feelings. As an example, my son came home one day recently explaining to me about how everyone has an "invisible bucket" that you fill up by doing kind things for others and doing things that make you happy. He went on to make his little brother a snack in order to "fill his bucket". It was the sweetest thing and made me so proud of the education he's receiving there. He's also on track to enter Kindergarten next year already knowing how to read and he's also doing simple math problems (like 5+4=9) all on his own!
I highly recommend CEMCS if you want your child to learn how to be kind, considerate of others, independent, self motivated and have a love for learning!

My daughter is in her first year at CEMS (pre-k). It’s a lottery based program and I really do feel like we won the lottery. Our daughter is an only child and heavily relied on my husband and myself for most things(like most 4 year olds do). Since starting school here she has shown so much independence. She’s 4 years old and has already started reading! Her teacher is wonderful! I feel like there is open communication her and I. Not only does she send academic updates almost daily, she sends pictures of our daughter in the classroom. They have a wonderful healthy food policy (no added sugar, no chips, candy ect…). I’m sitting here trying to think of any complaints I may have but I truly can’t think of any. Our daughter loves her school and is excited to be there and learn everyday. We as parents, are able to volunteer at the school and we feel like we are taking part in our child’s education. This Friday I’m set to be the “mystery reader” in my daughter’s class (which I’m very much looking forward to). I would 100% recommend CEMS. We are grateful to be a CEMS family and look forward to our daughter’s future there.

At first I believed I was making the right decision with placing my child at a Charter school, however, that changed once the kids were placed back inside the classroom. The teachers have poor communication skills and the principal is not reliable when it comes to parent concerns. They stated my child was doing well in one area, then she began to decline in all areas. The “Montessori” teaching method is truly outdated and this school needs to understand children learn at different levels. The teachers really do the bare minimum with teaching and it’s no wonder the schools academics/test scores are fairly below average. I sent her here strictly based on classroom size and was hoping she would have more hands on when it came to learning. That was certainly a negative. She will most certainly be removed from this school.

My child’s teacher was unorganized and did not communicate well. She often misguided my child due to her lack of training. I feel that in order to teach something, you must have an understanding of it. My child’s teacher lacked basic knowledge of the English language and as a result, my second grader struggled and fell behind. I have had to hire a tutor and personally homeschool her to get her caught up. I wish I had never placed my child in this school.

Homework is always given on Monday's. Then it is to be turned in Friday. This gives the student all week to work on it or ask for help if needed.

We've been at CEMCO for 4yrs now. The teachers here are like no other.....they truly care, challenge my sons (which I love), guide the whole student & preparing them to always strive to challenge themselves!

This is a very special school with dedicated administration, teachers and parent community. My oldest son attended from K-5 and has transitioned to a local traditional middle school beautifully. He was prepared academically and socially. My youngest son is in Lower Elementary and he is benefitting from a terrific education. I have a great relationship with his teachers and we are in frequent communication about areas that need improvement as well as his areas of strength. When I say the teachers are dedicated, I mean they truly care and invest themselves fully into these children's educations. I feel so very fortunate to have found this school and I recommend it highly.

I had heard both good and bad things about the school but knowing the curriculum I sent my three children to this school. I have a child who has a learning disability and did not do well at our zoned school so felt that she would do great there. While she absolutely loves her teachers and the environment allows her to work at her own pace my other child did not have the same experience. I met with the Director/Principal with my concerns about how things were being handled in the classroom. My child started acting out aggressively when she had not been an agressive child. After that meeting nothing was done until each and every week I would receive a phone call from a teachers assistant I feel is not qualified enough to be in a classroom environment. I requested another meeting with the principal and after my child was suspended only hen did she seem interested in trying to find a solution to our problem. This school is not a great environment for children who are use to some form of structure. I decided to homeschool after this experience and let me tell you I found it interesting that this is yet one more of this districts most terrible schools!! I would never recommend this school to any other family.

This is a wonderful learning environment that instills self-reliance in all students. The teachers are dedicated and meet each student on their level to ensure they all succeed. I highly recommend CEMCS. My kids have been students there for 5 years, and I wouldn't send them anywhere else.

By far the best school in the Savannah Area. The teaching staff is fantastic, the administration is supportive, and the education my child is getting is wonderful. My child is developing into an independent thinker who can problem solve on his own, instead of a cookie cutter student as many of the other schools produce. My only complaint is that my child cannot attend this school through 12 grade!

My son started attending CEMCS on 8/12/13 and I already see major changes in his behavior. He is becoming much more independent and curious about the world around him. We actually went to Dollar Tree yesterday to purchase his own little broom and dust pan so that he may clean up after himself. I am very impressed how the staff keeps the parents updated about the events at the school with emails, social media, and information sent home by my child. I would recommed this school to anyone who likes the Montessori teaching style.

My daughter entered CEMCS in October 2011, after going to a reputable private school for kindergarten and then being taught at home for 1st-2nd grade. I am a certified, traditionally-trained teacher in GA and was hesitant about the Montessori method working for her. However, we have been pleasantly surprised at the results. She is more independent and polite, and values hard work more than before. This is much different from the girl that I taught at home. The only complaint I"ve had is the disorganization of some of the PTO- sponsored functions, which is separate from the functioning of the school itself. All teachers that I've met are friendly, positive and really seem to care about their students. The principal is fantastic - upbeat, professional, and capable of the burden of running a good school, a vast difference from the previous administrator, from what I've heard. I love it.

While my son is really young, 3 years old, I can tell that he benefits from this school for a variety of reasons and that he is really happy there. For the first three months, he almost raced out of the door to go to school; now he is still happy but not so happy about waking up in the morning because the sun is not fully shining (winter). He is in the PK3 program and has learned social courtesies, his ABC sounds, fine motor skills such as dressing himself, and is overall more confident about his everyday activities. I come from a very traditional schooling and have high standards for my child which I feel are met by this school in the early years program (my child is too young for me to judge the later years of schooling, which I, nonetheless, have seen and heard great things about).

This is my daughter's second year at this school and we could not be happier. The academic progress she has made is amazing, but also amazing is the personal transformation she has made. She is more confident and responsible even at home. I really love this program.

HORRIBLE experiance! After two days I pulled my child out of their pre-K program. The couldn't handle my child, but the school he was in previously (he had a speech delay and was in a special program at school where we lived at the time) they said he was an amazing child and his teachers and other students loved him. The do not want to teach children, they want perfectly behaved robots. I have heard that other teachers are amazing and maybe it was just a bad experiance but if you risk putting a child with any spirit in this school hope you don't get the one that my child had. Horrible, horrible experience!!!!! I would like to say that the principal was helpful and involved and I have no complaints about her at all.

My daughter has attended CEMCS for three years. The community of parents , teachers and faculty are superior examples of nurturing the education of every child. If you want an alternative to traditional school and are worried about the public schools in your district this is absolutely the best choice.

This was my child's first year at CEMCS and she loved it. The environment is perfect for inquisitive children who are independent learners. The staff is caring and the parents work together to create a community/family.

My son has been coming to this school since he was three and is well on his way of being a citizen of the world. He is going to first grade next year and is learning about things I learned in Middle school. His teachers really care about him and they teach him to really care about others. There is a high rate of parent involvement which really helps with the basic needs of the students that also gives a smaller teacher to student ratio because of all the volunteering that goes on. There is a sense of community and because of the Montessori Method of keeping the students three years with the same teacher and students they really get to know the personality of the students and the students of each other. I highly reccommend this school if for the simple fact that I had a check list of everything I wanted out of a school and was amazed that I'd gotten it all.

The teachers at this school are amazing! All the head teachers are Montessori trained. Education here is for the whole child. This school has done much with very little in its first three years. Excellent learning environment.

This is a new school that promises great result in the Montessori program. My son is currently enrolled there and has only been going there three months when his education made an 180 degree turn for the better. He was in Pre-K and started reading using phonetics. Try as I might to get him to count past 20 and he wouldn't, yet within those short months he has learned to count to one hundred :o) I look forward to the rewards this school has in store for my son and my family.

Excellent teachers! We were looking for an alternative to traditional schools when we found CEMCS. The Montessori method is amazing. If you haven't seen a Montessori school in action, please come visit. My daughter grew tremendously in her first year here. She started pre-k in the fall, but when the teacher saw she was ready my daughter started working with the kindergarteners. We were impressed with her progress and with the school's ability to meet her individual needs (instead of her spending five more months reviewing pre-K lessons). However, academics are not what set this school apart, it is the way children are self motivated and socially adept. Even during the summer, she chooses to spend time each day working (learning). Watching her with our son and their friends is charming. They work and play together without the need for much parent direction.
