Communicate with your children. Let them know they are worth your loving time. Express to them how & why you want them to win in life. Be present at school as often as possible so they’ll feel your involved. Get a private tutor from time to time to help your kids to stay on top of math & Science. Favoritism has its play everywhere in the world. Children miss out on good education and are ignored Especially if they’re not white. It’s the same issues everywhere and this school is no different

This isn't a good school. An earlier reviewer said it best "This school has a wicked environment. If you can afford a private school , look into it." It's very cliquish so if you're not into that your child will be ignored. If your child is not White or Asian prepare to pay for or find free resources to supplement their education because they WILL NOT be treated nor taught equally regardless of ability.

Teachers at LRE are fantastic when it comes to teaching students valuable lessons. In 3rd grade, I emailed my daughters teacher Mrs. Dupler (I believe she has a different last name now) to tell her that My daughter was upset about a seat change because she is shy and finally made a friend that sat next to her. Mrs. Dupler emailed me and said she would move her back but wanted my daughter to ask for her seat back herself. She wanted my daughter to get past her fear of asking for help from adults and to see that good things can happen if she advocates for herself. My daughter told me that she asked and then her seat was moved back as soon as she got in the car with a huge smile. She really came out of her shell with teachers after that. Her 4th grade teacher Mrs. Westerlind was also great for her! She really pushed her to speak up during group work and helped my daughter to gain confidence when working with other kids.

Leadership seems to change every year and it seems to be a grab bag as far as their relationship with parents go. The few times I have seen the newest principal, he walks by parents, teachers, and students without so much as a hello. Seems to be all business with little care about forming relationships with others. The teachers are the saving grace when it comes to communication because it certainly isn’t coming from the leaders.

If I could give this school more than five stars I would. I have LOVED every staff member that I have encountered. Even though it is a big school everyone makes you feel like you are part of a family. I am so glad that both of my children have been able to attend this school. They have set the bar extremely high in my eyes. Both of my kids are doing well academically and emotionally. I will be sad when my oldest competes 5th grade this year. I just hope the middle school operates half as well as LRES does!

The homework is the right amount and never too much. I feel like it is enough for my child to review what they learned for the day without bogging them down.

Things have always run very smoothly at this school. Any activities, performances, meetings, are always well thought out and planned. You can tell that the principles are just as involved as any of the teachers /parents are.

This school will pull children out of their classrooms into a smaller classroom setting for subjects that they need help with. My daughter has to do this in first grade and they not only got her up to speed, she is now beyond most of the children in her grade level.

We have had a couple of bullying incidents with both of our children. All it took from me as a parent was teaching out to the teacher and the bullying stopped immediately. They will not tolerate bullying of any kind (physical or mental).

Never seems to completely explain what's due and when is the due date. Never allotted time to start it in class.

Absolutely none. My child was told to kill themself and we weren't even shown compassion from the vice principal! More worried about her job, then a child whose been verbally, physically, and mentally abused right under yout nose.

Pushed under the rug. Tries to hide it from parents. Bullying starts at the top from the principals to their bullying of the teachers. Bullying happens during any freetime and teachers are too busy gossiping to witness another child getting punched in the stomach.

Under Mr Kirby, my child had a good experience. Since new Principal and Vice Principal there is a lack of strong leadership.

My kids have been enrolled at LRES since Kindergarten. From my own personal experience, the faculty and staff go above and beyond to ensure students have all the resources and opportunities they need to grow. I question the “Greatschools.org” rating of 6/10. LRES performs at a level much higher than that.

My older son is on the Aurism Spectrum. His 2nd grade year was absolutely amazing!!!! His teachers were fantastic. My younger son is having a fabulous kindergarten experience.

I really do not understand the low rating of this school. I'm a teacher (not at this school), and my daughter attends Little River. I love everything that goes on here! Teachers are friendly and well skilled to teach. There is a old-fashioned feel that I like...they have Easter Egg hunts, a Fall Festival, movie nights, dances and all sorts of wonderful events. My daughter is in kindergarten and with the help of her teacher she is reading well above grade level!

My oldest daughter just finished Kindergarten here, and is already reading at a 1st grade level. The teachers and staff show a lot of care and attention to the kids, and the school is a safe place to learn.

Little River Elementary School has been here for well over 30 years. The last six years we've enjoyed our new spacious building....but now have grown to over 1330 'Eagles'. Little River puts students first and we our so proud of our past as well as welcome our future 'LRE Eagles'.

Office staff is incredible. As a parent, I have observed when parents are being told what they don't want to hear they are often very rude to office staff. It would be nice, if we could all remember they are only following the rules that have been given to them.
I would like to thank the office staff for always being polite and helpful!!! My hat is off to you!!!

The school needs to focus less on fund raising and more on security. I don't think I have ever been asked for I.D. to check out my child. It shouldn't matter that I am a woman.

I can't say enough great things about LRE! The principals, staff, teachers and PTA make this large school feel like family!!!! My children have received an excellent education and we have all made life long friends.

I have a 5th grader who has been at LR since Kindergarten. I also have 2 other children at the school Overall we have had a great experience. My children have been appropriately challenged. When I have had questions and concerns, the administration has always quickly dealt with the problem. I feel that my kids are still allowed to be kids in an age where many school have unrealistic expectation on children. My kids have learned without feeling like they are pressured or stressed. I find it interesting that the 1 star reviews of LR are based on 1 teacher (every school has a bad apple in the bunch), 1 day at the school, and 1 phone call to the school. I would think no matter where you go there will be an occasional bad day.

We are finishing up our Kindergarten year for our oldest child. I could not have asked for a better experience. Her teacher was wonderful. It seems like the entire Kindergarten staff is great. Kindergarten has changed since I was in Kindergarten. They actually make them work and while challenging I know it will benefit my daughter in the future. We've enjoyed learning games as her homework which have made it fun. The school has had many activities that we have enjoyed as parents and with our whole family. I hope those who have issues are writing the principal and participating to make things better. Thank you Little River!

We have been at LRE for 4 years with 1 in first grade and 1 in fourth grade. I could not be more please with this school! I am so surprised to see their rating. Yes it is a big school BUT I have a story to tell you: We transferred our fourth grader to a much smaller STEM school at the beginning of the year hoping he would benefit from the STEM curriculum. Big mistake! Yes, it was smaller but no where near the level of education at LRE (and they were a STEM school people). After 1 month we transferred back and wondered why we ever left. Never again. We have never had a teacher we didn't like. The very few times there have been issues they have been handled quickly and wonderfully by teachers, assistant principals or the principal himself. The front office staff is warm, friendly and remember details about parents, even when they don't see you everyday like some of the more involved volunteers. I can't say enough about how much we love this school! Woodstock is a booming and growing community and this school seems to be growing at an extreme rate. I worried at first but now I know this school can handle it.

I have 2 kids at this school and 3 nephews. They have awesome teachers and a magnificent principal! I have never seen a more involved principal and you can see that he truly cares about the kids and what he does. He's outside with carpool every single morning and its always about, not locked in an office doing nothing. Its kept clean and the staff has always been helpful and kind to me.

The first time I gave this school with the 5star, but right now, I'm feel this school the teacher is so horrible, the teacher doesn't care about their student. I'll always request for parent meeting, the teacher never respond my request. I'll hope if superintendent read it, please take action about this school teacher.

I feel this school focuses way too much on "size" and less on actual care and compassion. The office staff couldn't be more rude and very unapproachable, they almost go out of their way to ignore you. We are new here this year and come from a school where we knew everyone's name and they knew us, definitely not the case here, although I am very involved in my child's class and activities. its a shame kindness is not practiced and showed as example.

I don't know if it's due to the size of the school or smallminded prejudice, but I have been treated with coldness and rudeness by staff here more than once. Sure, there are caring teachers and administrators, but I am not sure why people lack kindness. I grew up in a smaller town where warmth and kindness were more common. My child is learning alot here academically and there are plenty of great people, but I suspect that there is a sizeable part of the population with hatred towards people who "look different."

I hope I'm not jumping the gun but the first day of kindergarten was a nightmare. The parking lot volunteers/staff were rude. There was zero direction of where to go until someone would yell at you for apparently doing something wrong. The meet and greet was uninformative. I left feeling worse than when I arrived. The teachers/front office seem bothered and annoyed when you ask questions (asked maybe 4-5 questions and received rude, apathetic, short answers). I hope this was just my experience as it was a miserable one. I hope it gets better but if not...I will have to find a way to move schools as kindergarten is the starting point to a child's future. I am extremely disappointed in our entire experience so far. I was extremely optimistic about this school considering the other reviews... Hope our experience changes.

Little River Elementary is the biggest in our county having 1335 students at present time! We are the Eagles~ and we soar higher!!! We pride ourselves in being a family type community!! Our Garden Club is a learning garden for the children! LRE is very anti~bully and all students take part in the program. We stress being kind to one another...have all become 'bucket fillers!!!!'.Accelerated Reading is another awesome programs that all join in!! LRE is more than just a school..WE ARE A FAMILY

Little River Elementary is a wonderful school with a caring and dedicated staff. The school has created an excellent partnership with the families. There is great communication and many opportunities for families to get involved. We feel very thankful for all the hard work the LRE staff puts into making this such a great school for our kids! Our children feel loved and happy at LRE and they have learned so much from the quality instruction they've been given! We are so proud to call Little River Elementary our school!!

Love Love Love this school. Every teacher my son has had so far has been amazing. They are extremely loving and giving and caring. Our students have the best test scores in the state due hugely by the teachers approach to teaching. Every student wants to do their best. I can't find one thing to complain about at this school!

My son went to Little River E.S. for 1st through 5th grades, and my daughter has gone to this school since Kindergarten (now in 5th grade). The Principals, teachers, PTA, etc are wonderful! They truly care about each child education, and understand that some children learn differently than others & are willing to put in the extra time for those children! I truly do not have anything negative to say about this school!

We moved over to Little River from one of the very top school districts in the state, where the focus seemed to be on test scores and test preparation...very little focus was placed on my kids and what they needed to thrive as individuals. It was the best move we could have made! The focus of this school is on individual student needs, and encouraging them to thrive. Victories are celebrated and failures are met with more encouragement towards success. Parent involvement is huge, social/student bonding opportunities abound. My kids are people, not just numbers, and that is priceless!

My son went here for 5th grade and my daughter has been here for k and 1st grade. My son had a pretty good experience except for one teacher who he considered to be very mean. After consulting with the wonderful counselor she made sure my son got out of that teachers class. Once that happened he was much happier. My daughter has loved the school! She has had wonderful teachers who are nurturing and who are great teachers. The school also offers great sports programs that both of my kids have taken advantage of and have loved them. The new principal is also a very nice man and is really involved with the kids. My daughter just loves going to school everyday! It's great!
