My daughter has been attending this school for two years, in seventh grade now, and I can confidently say it’s an outstanding choice for any family. We’ve experienced zero drama and absolutely no complaints—everything runs smoothly, from academics to the overall environment.
The staff is supportive, the curriculum is engaging, and the community fosters a positive, stress-free atmosphere for students. If I had to enroll my elementary-aged son here, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second. This school truly sets the standard for excellence.

As a parent, I can confidently say that Betty Gray Middle School has been an exceptional place for my child’s academic and personal growth. The school is STEM certified and the level of academic rigor truly stands out. Even as a Title I school, Betty Gray provides accelerated AC content classes that challenge students and prepare them for future success.

What I appreciate most is the school’s diverse and inclusive environment. The administration and staff are deeply committed to student achievement. Their support and dedication are evident in everything they do.

For families with children interested in performing arts, this school offers an outstanding performing arts program with a variety of opportunities for students to explore and develop their talents. It also serves as a strong foundation for those who may want to continue into the Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts program at Pebblebrook.

Middle school is tough! I was nervous about sending our daughter anywhere so being close to home was comforting. What was even more comforting was the continuous communication and engagement from the administration and staff. Everyone we encounter were kind and positive. We even participated in the 6th grade trip to DC that was very educational and memorable. Several opportunities for the kids to show leadership and to be engaged in the arts. Throughout the year we participated in student-led conferences/reviews, experienced an open door policy with all her teachers and had several opportunities to go to band and choir concerts that showed their progression over the year.

Our daughter even said she had a great school year which led me to come and ensure provided a current review of the middle school. Definitely recommend.

I have a 6th Grader who is attending this school, and it has been a great experience so far. They offer many family engagement activities for parents to attend. The teachers are attentive and responds quickly to concerns you have in regard to your student. Overall, fantastic school with great teachers and leadership.

My son was in Accelerated Classes and all of his teachers was AWESOME, however, i cant say the same for the new principle. No events ever start on time. The end of the school year ceremony was so unorganized and started extremely late as if myself and other parents didn't have to go to work after. It was supposed to start at 9am and didn't start till 9:54 am. They didn't allow the students to walk across the stage to receive their certificates which is the reason why you invite the parents to come to the ceremony. My son was on AB honor roll for all 4 semesters and didnt even get recognize, well none of the students got recognized. I really love the AC teachers and wish they can teach my son every year, however, I'm not to please with Dr. McGhee, she isnt approachable at all.

I am truly pleased with LSGA, the Teachers are Awesome, and the Administrators are professional and parents are encouraged to volunteer and to be involved with their child's education. Please do not listen to what anyone says, but come in and do a tour of the school to see the great things that are happening at the school.

My son is attending this school for the 2014/2015 year. My experience so far has been great. I am most impressed with the principal who is passionate about his role in ensuring we have a school that we can be proud of. There are lots of clubs and activities for kids to get involved. Parents are also encouraged to get involved to make the school a success. There are lots of communication avenues so that parents know what is going on. I highly recommend this school.

Thus far we have had a great experience at the 6th grade academy. The principal really cares about the students, how the parents feel and the community. They had a great s.t.e.m. program during the summer that my daughter participated in that really gave her a love for robotics and science. As with any school I think parent involvement is important for the school, their child(ren), and for themselves. The one thing I can say is principal Joshua has his door open and will personally answer your calls because he truly cares. That includes for the community.

First, the information on the principal is outdated and probably the administrators that previously set this account up are all gone. I like the changes, sometimes change is good. The science night was a blast, literally! Math night was pretty informative as well, it really showed me what my child was learning in a fun way. They give you a lot of information and web sites to help your child succeed. One negative would be all those cookie fundraisers, my waist band can't take it and my hand has a mind of it's own every time my daughter makes some cookies it finds it way there. Other then that I would tell the parents and community to go see for yourself and don't take my word for it but remember it takes a village to raise a child. Become part of the village/school community.

My child attends this school and I must say I wouldn't recommend my do to this school. I even heard that the 7th grade Lindley is worse. My child has ADHD so he level of functioning is not of that of a normal child and they treat him as if they dont have the passion to teach him. The teachers get smart with you when you come and try to help make things smoother for your child's learning environment which is something that has turned me off about that school. If a teacher gets smart with you in front of your child, imagine how they treat your child when you are not there. This is my child's 1st year there and he didn't get situated in a class until the middle of the semester. His grades goes up and down, and you have to stay on the teachers about your childs work. One thing I do like if the Pinnacle website to monitor your childs grades and assignments. The only thing I do not like about the Pinnacle is that some teachers never put their grades up. I called to check on that matter and I was told that the teacher teaches over 150 children so her grades wont go in probably until school is over. My child is special education also and they are not working with him on that level.

Lindley s Principal, Mr. Brown, is very passionate about his school and has an immediate goal for your child to excel! As far as the teaching staff; I cannot say the same; it seems as if the teachers are stressed out and lack the passion for students to achieve. The students have recognized that depending on the teacher s personal mood; it will determine the amount of classroom teaching received. It is unfortunate that students must ask the teacher to teach them. But when the teacher is in a good mood, the classroom teaching is exceptional. Overall, I have enjoyed my experience at Lindley 6th Grade Academy but I also have to spend a lot of time providing additional teaching lesson to my student at home in order to keep their grades above average.

Unfortunately the teaching my child received was very unprofessional at Lindley 6th grade Academy. If you think your child will do well in a military school Lindley 6th grade Academy is the school for you. If you have a child with autism, ADHA or anything similar to that monitor closely what goes on at that school. The school staff told me they are running a strict school and my autistic child s behavior was not acceptable. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a school. My autistic son attended only for 7 days, and I was extremely disappointed with the lack of responsibility and knowledge on autism. My autistic child cries and screams every time we pass by the school now. I recommend that the Department of Education investigate the school. My son is attending a private school now, and he is doing wonderfully with no problems.

I have been unexpectedly surprised by the wonderful experience at Lindley 6th Grade Academy. I was hesitant to send my child to the school based on community chatter. However, I have a totally different experience. Mr. Brown has made a remarkable impact on his teachers, students, parents and community. The teachers are caring, engaging and eager to teach our children. The curriculum is challenging (I was concerned about this). Developing the 6th grade academy is the best thing Cobb County School System could do for the children of Mableton. I only pray the experience at the 7th & 8th grade middle school lives up to our 6th grade experience.

I love Lindley 6th Grade Academy. Not only did I love it but so did my son. This is a great transition to Middle School from Elementary School. The teachers/staff and the principal Mr. Brown are all Excellent with the children. The school has gender base classrooms as well as co-ed. The teachers in the gender based classes know exactly what the particular gender needs to learn effectively.
