Horrible. I was bullied the whole school year. Plus, weve personally noticed the assistant principal targets children based off race. Shes harsh to the African American students but not the Caucasian students, how about that? They push down bad reviews to seem like a good schoolbut they let the rich students bully the less fortunate ones. The teachers do NOT care at all, they let the Caucasian students play victim though they were the ones bullying!! Shame on you!!

The administration at this school is consistently overreaching in the way they exercise disciplinary authority. Punishments are not applied fairly or consistently, and parents who raise valid concerns often feel silenced rather than heard. Instead of working with families to resolve issues, administrators appear only willing to listen when it serves the schools own interests.

After speaking with a school officer at another campus and reviewing the legal language surrounding the Code of Conduct, I learned that perception and context are critical when determining whether a students statement or behavior is truly a threat. Unfortunately, this school has shown little willingness to weigh context or consider intentespecially when the outcome could have been resolved with reasoned discussion rather than harsh, disproportionate consequences.

House Bill 268 has only made this problem worse. The law seems to encourage broad, punitive interpretations of behavior, which has led to an increase in disciplinary actions that bypass the careful due process students are entitled to. This is especially troubling for students with IEPs or special education needs, who are legally protected but often disciplined without those rights being properly considered.

The message being sent to students is troubling: learners who are curious, descriptive, or who challenge the brokenness of the current system are praised when convenient, but quickly silenced when their voices expose flaws in the environment. That is not the mark of a healthy learning community.

Its also worth noting the lack of sensitivity to differences between male and female learners. Boys, who often thrive on competition and challenge, are being discouraged in ways that stifle their natural learning style. True equity means recognizing these differences, not disciplining them away.

This school must do better. Respecting due process, considering developmental and educational needs, and engaging parents as partnersnot adversariesare the first steps toward creating a fair and effective learning environment for all children.

This school is beyond "the best". We have had nothing but negative situations with them since our son started there last year. He came to them about being choked on the bus and stabbed with a pencil, but since "there were no witnesses" they didn't believe him and he started feeling unsafe at the school because of them. The principal and assistant principal talk snarky and condescending to you. And the top of it all our son was overheard in a conversation talking to friends with his imagination (as kids do) the other kids heard PART of the conversation went to the office with "concerns" talked to our child and confirmed that they could see he did NOTHING WRONG and admitted that they could see he did nothing wrong, no evidence of wrong doing, nothing, but instead of giving him and a warning and just telling him to be conscious of what you are saying at school, they instantly told him he was suspended because they wanted to make an example of him. They are abusing their power to punish our son when he did nothing wrong. They even knew he was getting suspended before even hearing his side and talking to him first. Absolutely horrible people. They do not deserve to be handling kids. We even wrote reviews else where and they blocked the reviews because they didn't want no one seeing them. And they will probably try to get this one blocked even though it's factual.

I ABSOLUTELY HATE IT. As a former student who graduated last year from 8th grade I have to say the teachers mistreated me and the kids. Don't get me started, if you didn't look a certain way or dress in expensive clothes you WILL be made fun of. I DO NOT recommend it. They also had some type of standard to be popular? Like what? Anyways I rate it 1 star.

Very good school. The teachers clearly care about the education of the students and there is absolutely no bullying in the school. It is accepting of all people.

Most homework only involves study guides and reviewing for tests/quiz. Every once in a while there will be a project that requires work from home.

When I went to SIMS I loved it, the teachers were great, the programs were also great and the whole school felt like a family

My daughter is so fortunate to have attended SIMS. She is finishing up 8th grade - and I am so sad this is her last year. This is a beautiful school with a dedicated staff, involved parents, a robust curriculum and oustanding pride. GO REDHAWKS!!

Stallings Island Middle School offers a clean, organized and professional atmosphere. The staff is motivated and supported with a genuine Principal that cares and is involved in not only the opportunities given to the students but cares about your entire family and your well-being. Dedicated to adhering and proving self esteem/confidence will allow children to flourish; and personal consideration of good morals is expected and carried out......My son attended two years and my daughter is now in 7th grade and adore their teachers and continued relationship they render. Both of my children attend this school. We are military and had attended different schools in the area before this one. This school is exeptional. It is like a private school. The staff and teachers are so involved and dedicated to my childrens success! Look no more, you have found the best Middle school in the area, and I am a picky mom who does her homework when it comes to their education!! LOVE THIS SCHOOL!!!
