Our experience at Kindezi has been beyond exceptional. The teachers are truly invested in my children's education. They make personalized adjustments as needed per student. Small class sizes have enabled my child to gain confidence in his learning abilities.

I absolutely love my kids school! The teachers are genuinely caring and dedicated, always going the extra mile to support each childs learning and growth. Communication with parents is consistent and clear, which helps us stay involved and informed. The school also promotes a strong sense of community, values, and inclusion. My kids are not only thriving academically but also socially and emotionally. Its reassuring to know theyre in a safe, nurturing environment where theyre excited to learn every day.

Not sure I understand the 3/10 ratings?!? This school is great! We actually moved and live closer to other schools but make the drive every day because we and our son (7) love the school so much. They are nurturing and kind.

Being a small school I feel like environment of learning they seem to get more. They have less distractions while in classrooms. The staff and teachers treat every family like family. Sorry we are moving up to high school. We will miss you guys.

I have worked with Kindezi, in various positions for 7 years. The community is something that I admire most. Teachers have relationships with our students (geniuses) beyond the classroom- supporting them at recitals, sports events and even funerals. The relationships with families extend beyond their journey at our school. We have a partnership with the Rollins Center for Language and Literacy to support our geniuses with their reading and comprehension skills and are in the process of making all of our schools STEAM certified. Our class sizes are smaller than traditional public schools and our schools have more leaders and teachers than traditional public schools.

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL. DO NOT! Your child will not learn anything and will not be prepared for future grades. This school is failing the students and community. This is also not the place to work. If you choose to work at the school as a teacher and are really there to help the students. They will fire you! They only want employees who are in a certain circle and are sleeping with eachother! The students mimic the teacher, admin, and network team bad behavior because that is who they have as role models! Working there is like highschool. The students are the freshman and the staff are the seniors and some staff bullies. PLEASE DO NOT send your kids to this school!

Kindezi West is AWESOME! The teachers are very nurturing, are truly passionate, and seem to LOVE their jobs. The teachers are super creative and have been successful at making learning fun and engaging, but are still producing positive academic progress. When I pick up my two geniuses from school everyday, they are literally beaming with joy and are eager to tell me all about their day. They go on exciting field trips once a month and they have fun theme days periodically. The teacher's have participate in personal development every Friday and I can see the results. The teachers are out of the box when it comes to teaching, but it's working! I wish I had such an exciting school experience when I was a child. If you are thinking about enrolling your child, trust that your child is in good hands.

My daughter just completed her 2nd year at Kindezi West. She has enjoyed the teachers and her classmates as well as the small class size. I have enjoyed the parent/teacher interaction. I receive constant updates on my child bi-weekly and the teachers have an open door policy. I highly recommend Kindezi West.

Kindezi West is truly a family. It is a place where students (or Geniuses as they are referred to) engage with real-world scenarios and learning. There are monthly field trips, up-to-date progress reports, and bi-weekly communication. The staff at Kindezi West will make sure that your Genius' interests and passions are developed, and will show up for your Genius at their sporting events, band concerts, and any other after-school activity. Their teachers are knowledgeable and know how to push your Genius to the next level.

Kindezi West has been a great experience for my family, especially my daughter. From the welcoming feel of our first open house to the biweekly check-ins from her teachers. My Genius has blossomed so much and I am thankful. The Principal is very personable and the teachers are available. I look forward to the continued growth Kindezi will provide my daughter.

Last year I moved to another area to live, and I dedicated myself to look for the best option for my daughter to attend school. And so far Kindezi West has been my best option, my daughter is a child who does not speak English but I can say that they have treated her very well, their teachers have helped her to integrate, always giving us reports and giving us a lot of information to help the children in every way.

I have been a part of the Kindezi family for 4 years now. I have three pandas currently in grades 1st, 5th, and 8th. I would consider myself a highly involved parent and it was extremely important that their school was receptive to that. Kindezi West staff do a great job with making the time to actively listen to my concerns, as well as, accept input to devise a plan in instances where change is needed. I have always felt our children were respected and could show up as their authentic selves and the staff encouraged self-love. I love the apparent love for black culture and excellence. The project-based learning assignments really grab my scholars' interest. Through the course of the pandemic, they have found a way to keep learning exciting! I would love to see them add courses like sign language, coding, and theater. I would definitely recommend other families to Kindezi West!

I am quite happy with the experience my child has had from kindergarten up through eight grade here. He has been encouraged to grow in subject areas outside his primary interests (science). There were some difficult times where he felt the teachers didn't support male students as much as the female students, but the good overall outweighs the bad. Teachers are kind and supportive. The administration does its best to care, protect, and nurture their scholars. I am glad we chose Kindezi West.

Im not sure I even can find the words to explain and emphasize how disgusted I am that the school is even allowed to be an operation. Nor do I even know where to begin. The level of inappropriateness from the teacher makes me concerned any child is ever subject to her care and teaching. Id never allow my child to alone with her ever. She used the example of Scandal being her favorite TV show to a group of 5 year olds. They dont need to even know that word at 5. How she didnt understand that the appropriateness of that was so wrong she clearly had no moral reasoning in her mind to be dealing with that age group. She played the song Satisfaction by Bennie Benassi for a wiggle break. ( For those of you who dont know the song the lyrics are push me and then just touch me until I get my satisfaction) How this was ever thought to be an appropriate example for 5 year olds to hear blows my mind. No thank you I dont want my child having a teacher who puts in there head that they should be pushed and touched. Gross and wrong!
Their every day curriculum was filled with nothing but examples of poor food and drink choices. When I pushed back and said that my son would not be coloring pictures or turning in assignments that were using junk food as examples. And that instead I found equal level assignments using healthy and appropriate choices, I was told that wasnt an option and he would fail.
Everyday the teacher was in a bad mood, setting a depressing and monotone environment. I get it virtual learning was horrible but the children deserved better than a moody teacher with poor vocabulary and etiquette.
Not once did the teacher actually teach a lesson everything was videos from online used as teaching examples. She never held up a book and read to the kids. Studies prove that children need human interaction to effectively learn and instead of taking the chance to simulate that as best as possible on a virtual environment they instead chose to play videos that my son couldve watched without going to class.
When I brought this to the principals attention I was brushed off and no resolve was made.
I am so thankful that my son only attended this school virtually and that I was able to see how horrible it was and pull him out quickly.

My daughter started in kindergarten last year at Kindezi West. She exceeds expectations in reading and math. I love that the school uses social and emotional learning to aide the students with school life.

Since September of 2017, the month I transferred my son to Kindezi he has gained so much. He is eagered to learn, the concepts taught by his teachers are delivered in such a way whereas he can come home and explain what he was taught. The teachers are very concerned, and caring. The principal and her staff are A-1. She gets out and direct traffic even in the rain. This school is where any parent would want thier child to matriculate.

I should preface this by saying that I am not convinced that children need to do homework. My daughter had a little more homework than I would prefer. Kindezi o4w: It was supposed to be 5-10 minutes a day but it ended up being longer. They aren't very strict if it doesn't get done, so we do the best we can. I think the younger ones are supposed to be forming the habit of doing homework more than it being a necessary part of their curriculum (my understanding). We almost always got it done and I am sure it reinforced what she did at school.

I think building integrity and compassion is one of their greatest strengths. They really build up the students, but on their merit. If a kid is misbehaving or not doing what they are supposed to do, they let them know. I think the students feel loved but disciplined. The teachers that I have met seem strong, loving, and confident, so I think that is something they really look for when hiring.

My child has not been bullied at all, but my child is younger. I know of instances where kids were getting bullied about their clothes, and the staff handled it quickly. The whole school was affected. We don't have as many dress down days now. They certainly handled it.

So far, my experience with this school has been great. My child has excelled and loves going to school there. It is my understanding that some teachers are better than others but that is the case with all schools. It seems like the teachers that aren't so great don't stay long. It is still a new school, so they are probably still building and refining their team. Unfortunately, all of the 3 Kindezi schools are rated together on this site. I think each school has its own challenges and it isn't really accurate to rate them all together. What they are attempting to do at Gideons is not easy. They are taking over a school that was severely underperforming. They are the only ones in Atlanta trying to do this. That says a lot to me. My understanding is that Kindezi o4w is performing very well on tests and the kids progress a lot there. If you are considering Kindezi o4w, ask them about the test scores from o4w and talk to the parents from o4w. Go to the PTA meeting and talk to the principal. Every Kindezi will be slightly different.

There was at least 45min-and hour of homework every night for my 1st grader. The kindergarteners were expected to write essays. This is not age-appropriate and a sure way to backfire and cause resentment in children in regards to doing school work.

We were super excited about our son going to Kindezi. Their marketing boasted of : Small class sizes, social-emotional health, holistic learning environment, and differentiated learning.

We did not experience this.
Class size: KIndezi advertises 6-8 kids per class, but there aren't actually 6-8 kids in a classroom. Each room has 2 classes of 6-8 and 2 teachers. So it is really 12-16 kids in a class with 2 teachers. Sometimes one teacher is not there (lunch, meetings, etc). 12-16 isn't bad - but I think it's misleading to say that they have classes of 6-8.

Diff. Learning: His teachers treated him like something on a conveyer belt. He has been reading since he was 2 1/2 - and they put him in a lower reading class because he didn't pass the inferencing part of the reading test. According to all the experts I consulted, this is not age appropriate for a 1st grader. He started hating reading because they would read the exact same book every single day for 2 weeks. In Science, he received a 0 because he forgot to put his name on his paper. Apparently, she didn't know he did it. If she only has 6-8 kids, how can she not see who is doing their work and who isn't?

Socio-Emotional Health: Many kids who attend come from environments that are not supportive and loving. They come to school with this emotional trauma. Instead of having experts on staff to deal with this dynamic, the staff was not effective in addressing it. I saw a middle-school girl getting *told off* in a very mean and degrading way by her mom in front of her class while the teacher and vp stood by and nodded in agreement.
Also, there is a disciplinary room called the *recovery room*. It is really In school suspension. I had a meeting with the principal about it (several, actually). She said that she didn't like the room either. Well, why doesn't she get rid of it? I have no idea.

Holistic- learning environment: No. The test scores are really good - because they teach to the test.

We spent a lot of time trying to help the school become more of what we think is better (for ALL kids). We got MAJOR resistance. We were accused of trying to turn the school into a "private school". I was accused of being "entitled" (because I expected my concerns to be met ). And the principal actually told us to go to another school if we weren't happy. Well, we did.

My children and I love The Kindezi School! The teachers are simply amazing. They challenge the students on an individual level, and work with them to develop their character. My children learn so much through hands on classroom opportunities, and monthly field trips. The administrative staff go above and beyond to create academic and cultural experiences that make us so proud that we are a part of The Kindezi School!

The Kindezi School is a great family orientated school. We focus on integrating the arts and culture throughout the curriculum and classroom experiences. At Kindezi, all the teacher know all of the children and all of the children know each other. We focus on the needs of the whole Child, their social and emotional nee they will live in. ds as well as academics to prepare them for the world their future. All the teachera are great and it is a pleasant place to work. I love Kindezi!!!

This is an amazing community! We are so impressed with our daughter experience at Kindezi. The teachers are capable and caring. The kids are curious and encourage one another Mr. Dean and staff are wonderful. There is Parents Cafe every morning which I love! Its a great way to stay connected and get to know other parents. There is also Saturday play group. I had some concerns about safety last year the neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but the school has made improvements. Im so glad we are here. Its really more than a school its a community! S

My child is in the new middle school at Kindezi. We have been at the school since it opened 4 years ago and still love it - the teachers, their dedication to their students just cannot be surpassed by any other school in my opinion. It is truly a family environment, one where students are expected to continue to not only learn and progress but to holistically grow into wonderful people. If you are looking for a school where teachers, office staff, and the principal actually know and love your child and are committed to teaching them, then you cannot go wrong with Kindezi. They are currently a K-6 school (2013/2014 school year) and will eventually be a K-8 school. They have also moved into the old White Elementary school building on Detroit Ave not far from their original location of 98 Anderson Ave.
