It is my personal recommendation that you DO NOT enroll your child at Tapestry Public Charter School as I feel they do not respect or honor parental rights when it comes to a joint custody situation. Moreover, school personnel dont feel it necessary as part of the curriculum to assign homework to students and in my experience and opinion the academic workload is a joke. Good luck to students graduating from Tapestry Public Charter School who go on to college as in my view and experience, these kids are completely unprepared for the real academic world.

i started as a freshmen and i felt like the teachers did a pretty good job in meeting students where they're at. The people are overall cool and it isn't super clique-y. A lot of the statistics on this site are a little outdated, and we have more AP classes now and stuff. It's a relaxed and chill environment, but I think we're learning what we should be, and the teachers seem mostly happy here. The kids are relatively accepting and not terribly judgy which is nice and as I said before there aren't exactly enough kids to be super cliquey so everybody knows each other and are at least civil and usually friendly to one another. I enjoy all my classes and have scored in really high percentiles on standardized testing so far so that's nice. However I will say my sister is in middle school and she doesn't love how they teach and deal with kids and behavior issues, so my opinion may be subjective to high school. I personally think they have some issues on the middle school side, because a lot of my friends who have gone here since middle school have a few cracks in their academic foundations, but nobody is struggling too much. Overall, if you're looking for a smaller student body, less overwhelming environment, and a pretty kind and accepting group of people, tapestry is a good option for at least high school, and probably middle school for the most part as well. :)

As a former student of Tapestry Public Charter School, I would not reccomend sending your child here.

From my experience, I have been bullied by MULTIPLE teachers, called racial slurs multiple times by non-black students(as a black student this is very offensive to me), and I felt extremely uncomfortable at this school overall.

This school is strict in all the wrong places. They removed the bathrooms doors which didnt change anything because people still skipped in there but we still had no restrictions on the quiet room or gender neutral bathroom which have both become spots for EXTREMELY innapropriate activities.

The teachers at this school have such little patience as if they dont work at a school where majority of the kids have learning disabilities. The amount of times I have been picked on by teachers and the amount of times they have shown favoritism openly is honestly sick and twisted.

I could sit here all day and write about all of my terrible experiences here, but all I'm going to say is if you really love your kids, do NOT send them to Tapestry Public Charter School.

It is great in theory but in practice it is run poorly. If they can be more consistent about actually helping students instead of being so focused on what everything looks like to outsiders, it might work better. There are also not many options for high performing students. The teachers seem to care but theres not enough consistency between teachers. Admin and staff are often quite unprofessional and try really hard to push certain students out of the school ( which inherently goes against the schools mission). They also have terrible staff retention.

The statistics quoted are outdated as are the previous reviews. My family has been involved since the school's inception. My youngest graduates this year. He already has early acceptances to universities and is awaiting the remainder of the schools. There are more AP classes offered each year and, as the school progresses, more students are taking multiple AP classes simultaneously. Of course, not all students are college bound- they are supported with available resources and classes that will help them succeed in the real world- such as the computer technology track.

The school has grown in leaps and bounds and with it comes new administration, additional supports, more variety. The students, parents, and staff love the school. I encourage anyone interested to check it out. We will truly miss it.

There are lots of amazing teachers at the school. One this I value is that when a teacher is not effective they are not kept just because. It's a unique school that needs mission aligned teachers which is valued.

The research done at the school evidences that kids with/without autism are valued, are friends and are a community. This is amazing.

The school is only 5 years old. It's a lot of work to build something from nothing and fix things while the plane is in flight. The administration is taxed but is doing a great job when considering the demands of the job.

This is a particular strength. Interesting even students without a formal IEP are treated as individuals and learning differences are accounted for.

This is an amazing place. Some of the recent negative reviews are part of an effort by a small group of parents to discredit the school and have waged a war as a result of a termination they disagreed with but absolutely needed to occur. Don't be swayed

There are a number of EXCELLENT teachers, but spring 2019 alone, 10 staff have been fired, not renewed, or left. Teachers are treated unfairly by administration.

That is the whole point of the school, but many families are told their (sometimes highly functioning mildly autistic kids) "cannot be occomadated here"

It had great potential. If it got a new principal (or if Vice Principal took over) it could be redeemed. But if Boone is there, rating is 0 out of 10
