This is one of the worst schools in the area. The classrooms are absolutely out of control especially in the middle school classrooms. The students have no respect for authority and there are multiple fights a day. There is a high degree of bullying that teachers are not responding to because they seem to be afraid of the students. Students roam the hallways not in class and when told to get back to class they just keep wandering around. The people at the front desk are some of the most unpleasant, rude people I've ever met. The staff are unsupported by administration and the counselors are a joke - most don't even understand the laws or follow through with reports of dangerous situations. Overall steer clear - there are a lot of people moving to this area because the weather is nice but realistically I hope you have enough money to send your kids to private school if you want them to be successful at all.

The 2 stars are for the excellent 5th grade teachers, especially Mrs. Jones. The missing 3 stars are for the middle school teachers who ignore bullying, provide basically no electronics oversight while the children are supposed to be doing their virtual work, and at times, are absent for DAYS at a time. The counselor has been helpful for some issues, but I have not found that the principal ever engages in any situation - so don't expect a return email from him at any time.
Avoid if you can, especially if you have a child with a 504 or IEP. Your child will be behind by at least a grade and will have to play catch up once they ever attend a competent school.

As a parent who has first hand experience inside the school, I can say that it is a wonderful place to send your child. Our administration truly loves and cares for the sweet babies at Rice Creek, and the teachers all enjoy their job (which makes it a better environment for the students)! It upsets me to see that parents are unhappy with the school, because they are trying very hard to make sure it is the best school in Chatham County (which I believe it IS!). If you every have a concern or complaint, PLEASE make sure that teachers are informed! They will do their very best to make sure the situation is handled. They all love the students as if they are their own, and they take the job of teaching the children very seriously.

If you want a school where your child's school supplies and lunch are stolen at least once a month then this school is for you! Where swearing is pretty common among the students and the teachers don't do anything to stop it. The principal is still driving a school bus because no one wants to drive these kids around so he can't do his job like he is supposed to. Oh, and he's terrible with follow up so don't waste your time asking for help on anything. The VP should be moved to take charge since she has to do his job. Don't worry about those pesky state exams. More than likely they won't be ready for them anyways. I mean when children won't stop talking, they just stop teaching so learning goes down hill. Nothing like being told you are two months behind in this class so do the best you can! I am so disappointed with this school, my child is being moved to private next year. Sorry I kept my child here as long as I did. Run away fast or just don't do it.

I can only speak for a certain grade. Teachers for younger students may do better.
