Hello! I am a former student at Huntington middle school (went for all grades 6-8). I will try to keep this completely unbiased as possible, and note:

This review is just what I have experienced and seen, it might not be the same for your child or any other student.

The things I want to talk about are: the teachers, student support, and bigotry. (Plus a few extra things I want to nitpick about)

Im already going to start with the elephant in the room. Out of all three grades, I have only felt comfortable with 4 out of my 12 core class teachers. Most teachers are either subtly disrespectful, messy, or just uncaring. Anywho, most teachers in this school will not get along with you (or even acknowledge you) if youre not extremely outgoing and talkative to them.

For the next topic, Im just going to come out and say student support is kind of.. hidden. There are some, though, for example the counselors who do a pretty great job. But in general, theres not much they do. Again, I am going to use an anecdote-
Back in 6th grade I was in a state of slight depression, and ended up doing some things I really regret. The teachers found out and they tried to support me at best, but after a week or two they just. Completely forgot. I wasnt asked if I needed accommodations when I ranted to the counselor and the one I had at the time downplayed my experiences. I now believe that if your kids need extra help + any accommodations, you will have to use some extra convincing and fighting for it.

The last thing I want to talk about is bigotry. One of my 6th grade teachers made a subtle statement about how being LGBTQ+ is a sin, and as a kid in the community that hurt. Also mentioning, the students are also bigoted. Throughout my 3 years I have been the target of homophobic, racist, and misogynistic language. Even when the teachers hear it, they dont care an ounce about it. Nothing is done- no ISS or a write-up, its just a slap on the wrist like Hey dont say that!!!. For three years I have felt unwanted here, because the staff disregard any hateful comments as another interaction between students.

Overall, distasteful. I wish I could say more but theres word limit :<
I encourage all current and future students to make their school experiences as good as possible; and dont be afraid to speak up about anything!

My son attended 6th & 7th grade here. I am in the process of trying to move to a area where he does not have to attend 8th grade year. While in 7th grade here my 13 year old minor son was threatened to be slapped by his 7th grade teacher Sonja (Sonya) Todd. He was given ISS for something he did not do. After looking at the camera they saw that my son never touched this teacher yet my son had to accept consequences behind actions he didn't do while nothing was done to this teacher. She received no consequences and I was told to press my own charges. The school officer, counselors, principal, assistant principal, etc was all in this teacher side even with the facts. No teacher or anyone should be able to threaten a minor without consequences. I called the HCBOE on several different occasions and asked for supervisors, etc and they always send me back to the school and send messages to the school after being informed that the school was not doing anything. It is wrong on so many ways. The school officer was definitely no help. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone. I have talked to several parents that's stated that they have had to remove their kids from this school because of the things they let the teachers get away with. They really need to do some background work on this school. I do intend on pressing my own charges because I expected this to be handled differently and better by the school. No apologies was given to my son for him having to do ISS for something he didn't do. The teacher showed no remorse for treating a minor at all.

This school has multiple teachers and staff that not only allow inappropriate political conversations to take place among children but also join in on the conversations and tell the white children they are racist for supporting trump. Im sure some teachers are great across the board however one racist teacher is one too many. Many other situations of white children being bullied for simply being white and the staff ignoring it until the inevitable fighting takes place continues to happen. The resolve is to sweep it under the rug and move on. If your kids are white homeschool them if this school is truly your only option. The school staff or leadership does not create an environment that teaches children they are all equal in gods eyes and loved all the same regardless of skin color.

this middle school has been just okay for me. Sometimes, the teachers don't really help when you don't get something. It's like they're, but not really. What makes me mad about this school is the students. They just don't care, so it's hard to do fun stuff or what we want because of how they act. I'm going to 8th grade this year, and I'm making sure I stay on track like I always do to move on. They need to grow up this year because we're going to high school soon, we're not babies anymore, so it's time to do better. Don't let these kids change you. Do better for yourself and get your education. I would only recommend this school for the learning environment not really friends but if you do make friends find drama free ones to keep you on track!

the teachers are so kind, the principal is kind too, the school is always doing something fun for the students AND teachers, the teachers make learning easy, the teachers welcome new students AMAZINGLY, and the lunch is just delightful. but only one this is bad about this school..THE KIDS!!! they dont care. they say whats in their mind with no care in the world! they always listen to their impulsive thoughts too. this is mostly the boys tho.

I was very leery about sending my children to Huntington Middle School because everyone I talked to have had a very negative perception of the school. I have been more than surprised in the last two years regarding how wonderful this school is! I have two children that attend Huntington, and these teachers pour more into their students than anywhere I have ever seen. Huntington sports programs are magnificent, and their coaching staff is second to none. I highly suggest that you take the time to create your own opinions and let your children form theirs about this school.

In my opinion I'd say it's a 10/10 school because teachers help you with any kinds of things such as homework, assignments, etc.. On the other hand, gym teachers motivate each and everyday, if you don't have the confidence in yourself! Really helpful and awesome school!!!

This school is one of the best schools in the state, the teachers take care of the students and are willing to help students with what ever they need. The FFA in the school is one of the best to, you get to help with the old folks and you can get into competitions for meats and chicken.

Here at Huntington middle school we have teachers that support us and push us to do great every day, for example Mr. Johnson, he is the technology teacher here our school and a "National Teacher of The Year nominee" he pushes students here at Huntington to come out of their shell and try out for sports and join one or more of the many clubs we have here at Huntington. Also here at Huntington the students get praised for their succeeding in their academics, like the student of the month, and the honor roll celebrations. All in all i would give this school a 4.8 rating.

Huntington Middle School is Amazing!!! This school is very Great in education, sports, and groups!! If you are having a hard time with work we have free tutoring after school, WE STRIVE FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE!!! When we do excellent on map and test we have celebrations. Huntington middle school is one of the best schools in the Warner Robins Ga . Some of the teachers help you out and they are also kind and nice . The clubs are very nice and the people that is in the group is a good teacher. But some of my favorite teachers are : Ms. Dent, Ms . Fits, Ms. Warren and etc. This school is very clean and they push the students to learn and pass the test and also the milestones.

Huntington Middle School a great school to attend. The teachers are just wonderful! Shout out to Ms.Fitzsimmons, Ms.Dent, and Mr.Johnson. They all helped me out so much and got me to where i'm set to success. Mr.Johnson is a national known teacher. Also they strive for educational success and nothing less. They celebrate our success like the MAP test. They even but us food once in a while. They are the best school i've ever been.

Huntington middle has great teachers that want to help you with what you want your future to look like, one of my favorite teachers are Ms. Wiley because shes always telling me to join art in high school and helping me find a degree that's close to art but more useful. Also, Ms. Render, she always gets so excited when i say i have new art to show her.

plus, all the teaches try there best to make learning fun for us (or at least it seems like it)

Huntington Middle School sets high achieving standards for students and helps students meet their goals and prepare them to create even bigger goals. Huntington takes the well-being of students very seriously and makes sure everyone feels safe, comfortable, and welcome to be apart of one big family of brilliant growing minds. At Huntington Middle School you have so many opportunities such as sports and character building clubs. Huntington includes softball, soccer, football, basketball cheerleading, and track and field. Clubs like TSA, FCCLA, etc. play a major role in shaping students into educated young leaders for the environment.

Horrible!!! I would never promote this school to anyone. Extreme bullying as well as the administration. They cover for each other and refuse to help kids that are bullied or failing. My kids went straight to Christian schools due to this school! Be ware all parents!! Listen to your kids and fight for them. This is not a safe school!!!

The school failed to follow procedure when a loaded firearm was brought to the school. The school also failed to notify parents. Parents found out about the incident either through the local news, 3 weeks afterwards or from their student. In our case, the student carrying the firearm sat right next to our child. The school failed to address a group of children that were repeatedly bringing lighters and firecrackers onto school grounds, to throw at the other students walking home after school. When it was addressed, they named the child that brought it to their attention; ultimately putting a target on that child's back. The school failed to follow procedure when another student repeatedly stabbed our child with a pencil. They did nothing to prevent it from happening again and the bullying continued. They claim to promote parent/teacher involvement but their actions prove otherwise. This school has a lot of potential but is lacking serious leadership.
