The education at TKA is great. Its a very well runned school that provides students with grace and understanding when they mess up instead of immediate punishment.

I am a parent of three at the Kings Academy. Two in elementary school and one in middle school. The Kings Academy is a wonderful school. The school has a healthy culture led by leaders with heart, and the teachers really care about students. The students at the school arent perfect by any means, but the student culture at TKA is so much more healthy than surrounding public options, and the leadership, faculty, staff are really involved in making sure students are cared for in the environment. I would absolutely recommend this school to any Christian families looking for a parent partnered education.

Our family loves The Kings Academy. From the moment we joined, we felt the strong family atmosphere and genuine sense of community that truly sets this school apart. One of the biggest blessings for us has been the increased time with our kids through the hybrid model, especially having two days at home each week. That extra time together has been invaluable for our family.

Our children genuinely enjoy their two in-school days and look forward to their third flex day, which has allowed them to explore a wide variety of clubs, electives, and sports. Theyve participated in Bible Drill, Drama, Art, math labs, Battle of the Books, tennis, swim, and cheer. The opportunities for involvement and growth have been wonderful.

Prior to TKA, we had a good experience in public school, but during the COVID shutdown we realized how little insight we had into what our kids were learning and how little time school and after-school activities left us as a family. We homeschooled for two years, which we valued, but we missed the traditional school experience and peer interaction leading us to look at school options.

The Kings Academy provides the perfect balance between homeschooling and traditional education. We feel more involved in our childrens learning while still having the structure, support, and guidance of dedicated teachers. We especially love how the home days help teach our kids responsibility and time management at an early age. It is rigorous, but we feel it will prepare them well for life after school. We are so grateful to be part of a school that partners so well with families and truly supports both students and parents.

this school was the worst school ive ever been to. The school felt as if it was a mental asylum for christians, yet the aspect of the mental struggles are invisible. I was the type of girl to wear a thick eyeliner and silver jewelry and do my makeup every day, and this school would judge me and make me feel horrible about who i was, and the kids there were so rude and only were friends with perfect christians who dont support abortion, love trump, and think any other school is just pure drugs. this school said to help the relationship between you and god with the aspect of learning, but if you didnt follow their ultra tight steriotypical dream student requirement, they would make you feel like you were unworthy of worshiping him.

I have to say after reading several of these reviews, I would agree with being very disappointed in the administration in handling bullying, ESPECIALLY IF IT INVOLVES STAFF MEMBERS CHILDREN!
We had three grandchildren that attended kings and we supported the school through out their enrollment .
I am very disappointed in what was suppose to be Christian school !
The administration did not support or address a bullying situation when reported because the bully was a lifer and child of staff.
When my daughter tried to have meeting with the parent and child that was causing the problems, that did not occur. Instead the administrator had the parent of bully in that not only attacked my grand daughter but my daughter too . NO CHILD SHOULD BE ATTACKED WHEN THEY ARE TRYING TO DEFEND THEMSELVES . It takes a strong child to go in a meeting to express her side , with documented proof that so called administrator did not even look over. Instead let the Christian teacher badger my young grand daughter!
My family was not the first to have issues with this child. The school lost other families .
Very sad especially in todays world where bullying is out of hand and causing suicides and school shootings.
You really missed the boat administration / principal on not doing your job!

A parent of three children graduating from The King's Academy, I consider The King's Academy an excellent Private Christian School. The academic rigor, extra curricula activities and student support are significant advantages for the students in preparation for college and careers. My children received an excellent education at The King's Academy. All three received college admissions to Georgia Tech; a university with a very competitive admissions process.

I have gone to this school for many years, but am leaving after middle school. Most of the homework, which is your assignments three out of five days a week, is just busy work. It is not usually a super heavy load, but very little of it teaches anything new on the topic. If you do not learn in the specific way that they teach then you are just out of luck. This school does not accommodate learning differences well and will not change anything to help you. Some of the teachers are great, but most of them are under qualified and only working there because their children attend. Half of them just read off power points and leave the bulk of the learning up to us. Most families that go here all attend a certain church and if you do not also go to that church then you are excluded from certain things (both my parents and I have noticed this many times over many years). On top of that, the bullying is handled absolutely horrible from my experience. There is not quite as much bullying as in public school, but it definitely still exists. Despite having a no-tolerance policy, I was bullied in my sixth grade year, we were talked to by our bible teacher, and she never received any sort of punishment at all. The demerit system is usually ineffective due to the fact that detention really is not bad and is more embarrassing than anything else. There was one boy who was suspended because of a specific situation, even though he had multiple detentions under his belt just that year and had already been asked not to return. He was only suspended for one in-school day and during that time teachers openly discussed with the class how they felt bad for him. Trust me when I say he more than deserved that suspension. Unexpectedly, there are not less cliques because of the school's small size, they are only made more prominent. Teachers (middle school assistants) discuss students behind their back's. I personally witnessed this one time as a teacher who I had liked up until that point referred to me as a "butt" and complained about how irresponsible my classmate was for not having all of his work from when he was sick completed (he had been out for three weeks and it was his first day back. He still had a cough!). The only things administration really takes seriously are dress code violations (even when minor) and physical violence. Bullying, "jokes" that could cause serious harm, slurs, and sexual harassment are all brushed under the rug. Things go downhill after elementary.

TKA prides themselves on being Christ-like, rigorous and prestigious. From emails with the admissions team after we chose to withdraw our son before school even began (because our 9 year old boy) would be miserable in a rigid, harsh environment we started receiving condescending written communication and guilt trips and plenty of excuses in that their policy was to charge us for the entire school year before the year began. The overall spirit of the school seems as if they are better than other Christian schools. We simply cannot state our disappointment enough as we were super excited to become a part of this school.

My child never actually attended The King's Academy as we were very disappointed by the admission process. Everything seemed wonderful on the tour but when we started the admission process that is when things went south. I had questions about curriculum and placement and was told I would need to apply first to have those answered. I did this, paying the $100 application fee and a mandatory $400 registration fee at the time of the application. After several emails and phone call, I still could not get my questions answered. I asked for a current family to call me as well to hear about their experience and that request was not granted. There was very poor communication from the time of application & through the interview process. Emails & phone calls were never returned or when if were they were very vague not giving any actual info. This led me to believe if my student did attend there the poor communication would continue. We decided just a couple days after the interview that TKA would not be the best fit for our child based on this experience up to this point, and we emailed and told them we would like to withdraw our application. We were told that our $400 registration fee would not be returned to us, so essentially it costs $500 to apply to this school. Keep that in mind if you apply, the $100 stated app. fee is really a $500 fee since they will not return any part of it if you decide not to attend. We were letting them know our student would not attend nearly 6 months before the school year started, so it is not like they wouldn't be able to fill that spot. I don't think they had my child's best interest in mind and essentially just wanted to get as many applications in as possible to hang on to our money. I feel like if we are paying for a private school education (and are partners in school that prides itself on parent-led teaching) they should be able to share some details on what my child would be taught. Very disappointed with this school.

Weve been an active part of The Kings Academy for 14 years. We have found it to be a wonderful environment to support our children and our biblical beliefs. Its a terrific blend of private and home school options...a hybrid. Students have the opportunity to participate in excellent education, a variety of sports programs and many clubs. We highly recommend The Kings Academy!

The style of homework attempts to prepare students more adequately for college than the public school system, but generally falls short. The "open book" system allows for high grades which reflect well on the school, but does little to actually teach the student.

The vast majority of the teachers are under-qualified and uneducated. They tend to have heavy bias and are generally ineffective at communicating their lessons.

The leadership at this school is beyond abysmal. Administration maintains a strict "holier than thou" attitude and views their students (and parents) as their congregation that needs to be saved. They have strong biases and are ineffective leaders. This school administration massively oversteps their moral and legal bounds on a daily basis.

TKA recently added Orton-Gillingham tutoring as an option for students as well as training many teachers in this method for integration in the classroom. Middle and High School students can enroll in Math courses that meet their individual needs.

Administration meets with students by grade each year to discuss this delicate topic. Teachers and assistants make it a priority to be very aware of what goes on in and out of the classroom and address this as needed. Fortunately, the number of incidents seem to be extremely low compared to other schools.

Classroom teachers and staff are ready and able to step in when there is bullying, and there are hardly ever any physical altercations, but kids need to learn to work some differences out, as there will always be bullies in the world. Any time we've had a problem and communicated with the teachers, the problem has been resolved to our satisfaction.

Small classes, frequent communication, and having the majority of the school days at home with the parent allows the teachers to reach each student at their level better than in many learning environments. From level-based reading to cooperative learning even in the early elementary school grades, each student has a chance to thrive in the classroom, and to be supplemented with additional learning opportunities or assistance as needed.

The leadership team, from the executive board to the curriculum administrators, have created an amazing and unique value in private education, and they (some of whom are also university professors) do a great job in driving continuous improvement in the school. I couldn't be more happy with their work, and with the way that they have never been content to rest on their laurels.

Because the teachers and administration model servant leadership and proactive conflict resolution, it strongly reinforces the lessons that we desire to teach at home, which all boil down to what Christ taught is the greatest command in Matthew chapter 22; "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'"

Many of the teachers come from a public school background, and they lovingly challenge the students to achieve, while keeping a low student/teacher ratio in the classroom, with a teacher and parapro in each classroom of 12 to 15 students.

Having had multiple children at The King's Academy for the past four years, I cannot say enough great things about our experience. As a former public school educator, I have been very impressed with the hybrid model, and how the school can do so much at such while still keeping prices low. Kings is a true community, with off the charts parental involvement, teachers who truly love the students, implementation of new and effective educational best practices, and great student/teacher ratios. The facilities, while humble, are adequate, and are under expansion. Finding a private school with AdvancED accreditation, a strong focus on a Christian worldview, and a model that values partnership with parents more than any public school that I've ever observed was a true gift. The King's Academy offers a unique model of education that a perfect fit for our family.

I cannot say enough good things about King's Academy. My daughter went for 4 years until she graduated in 2016 and went to UGA. The principal and all the staff are genuine dedicated professionals that go beyond and above for the child education. Not only I loved how well was she prepared academically but also the values and Christ centered atmosphere in the school was priceless to me. The hybrid school model couldn't work best for us!!

There is so many things that are lacking at this hybrid/private/homeschooling institution. There is no parent teacher board that offers a checks and balances to the school. The administrator seems to think she is a preacher or pastor even though she has no theology degree or background whatsoever in religion. She appears to want to be the next Joel Osteen. School is very cliquey and doesn't have open mind for other individuals' ideas or suggestions on what would be best for the school. School keeps allowing for more and more student enrollment but doesn't take into account overgrowth, crowding not the families that have been at the school previous years. It's more about quantity versus quality.
