Seen kids get loaded into the wrong cars and sent home with people they barely know. I guess because the child sees these people every so often and they trust their teachers they will go wherever.
Another issue they pump kids full of terrible food. Every other day my child comes home saying they had ice cream, candy, junk food. It's disgusting how much garbage they hand out and we wonder why childhood obesity is a thing. Yes we allow our kids junk food but it's not something we give them every day especially with all the candy they bring home.
We teach our children at home so I can't speak on progress of the teaching at school since ours have no problems academically. They say they like their teachers so I assume the teachers are good but they also hand out candy every other day so it can be bought love.
Really I am disappointed at our education system.

We are a military family and have had experiences with so many schools. Guyton Elementary was by far our favorite elementary school and we miss it so much. We were not “locals” but my kids were treated very well and everyone from the front office to the teachers and para pros were the best. They really seemed to care about the kids. They did so many fun things for the students as well and encouraged parent involvement. Set the bar high and the schools the kids attended afterwards disappointed majorly in comparison.

I have two children in this school and I have had the most amazing teachers. The teachers have apps to keep daily and weekly communication. The office personal are delightful. I have had lunches with my kids and parties. The teachers and the other staff are very welcoming after you prove who you are. No one just gets into this school. I feel my kids are protected here. I truly would recommend this school over all the Effingham County Elementary's.

Not much homework for the younger kids and most of the teachers have an app to report on homework and things going on during the week.

I have had the most wonderful teachers for both of my kids. Some of the subs are not great but the teachers are wonderful.

My child had a bully in kindergarten and the school is who let me know. My child didn't have to report anything, the teachers caught it early and handles it so good.

I don't believe these other parents are talking about the same Guyton Elementary School. This school is a trashy school. Its a very bad environment for any aged kid. I had to take my 8 yr old out of this school because one little girl was teaching her about sex, I had a meeting with the counselor and principle they have the nerve to tell me it's everywhere you go but you mean to tell me my 8 ur old has been in school 5 years and she has never been exposed to sex, UNTIL she went to Guyton! Then you go pick your child up you have all these teachers standing around in a circle talking abouttheir personal lives instead of trying to put the children in the car safely. They have not once been a little interested in my child, my child goes there and hasto defend for herself. This school is not normal, you walk into their office you have 20 adults in there at once and you can't never talk to who you need. Also i have a 4 yr old in pre-k, they started these new rules about parents coming in the building (which is understandable) but I'm told I can't walk my 4 yr old to class and the secretary has the nerve to tell me that they're big enough and can walk by themselves, at 4 yrs old!

We moved to Georgia from out of state and I have LOVED Guyton. As well as my kids do. My daughter is in 1st grade and in the GT program and she is always so excited to go to school. We have moved around a lot and this is my sons 6th school (he's in 5th grade) and he says by far Guyton has been his favorite school. Wish we would of gotten here sooner.
