It is a great school after our 4-year experience with our son. Like a family. Teacher are great. They offer advance content/gifted program through testing in the 1st grade. Glad that my son was selected.

My son used to go to Blandford elementary, we moved and he was reassigned to SEES. Academically the school has an equivalent level to other Effingham schools. They do lack involvement in the arts and heavily concentrate on state exam academics, stance that was well balanced at Blandford. Additionally, they lack initiative to pursue extracurricular activities (i.e. Blandford has been involving their students in a science fair at the 4th grade level; SEES knows about it but doesn’t offer their kids that opportunity). As a parent I did not feel welcomed and felt every time I stopped at the school I was being asked if I had scheduled to be there and if everyone knew about it; made me shy away from trying to stop by to have lunch with my son on any given day that I had extra time. If I had a choice I would have my kid at Blandford elementary (In addition to being more welcoming, children at Blandford are constantly taught compassion and helping others through interaction with special needs children).

I recently moved to the area (Aug 2010) and was leery of moving my kids out of their Magnet Program at home to a regular program here in Effingham County. I am above impressed by South Effingham!! I love the school, teachers, staff and educational program!! My kids have been challenged and had a good time!! I love this school and I am looking to remain in this district!!

I just love little South Effingham Elementary! I worked at the school for two years and it is the best! Exceptional leadership combined with the superior work ethic of the teachers and staff make it stand out in a crowd. You will feel truly blessed to send your child to South Effingham Elementary! GO Mini Mustangs!!!
