As a former educator at this school, I saw both strengths and areas that need significant improvement. One of the biggest positives is the level of family involvement. Many parents and guardians are communicative, supportive, and genuinely invested in their childrens education. There are also caring teachers and staff members who work hard to build strong relationships with students and create engaging learning experiences.

However, communication and consistency from leadership were ongoing concerns. Staff were sometimes informed of important changes at the last minute or indirectly, and policies and expectations were not always applied consistently. Teacher input did not always feel welcomed, which can make it difficult to address problems before they grow.

Student behavior and schoolwide discipline also need improvement. Some consequences felt inconsistent, and concerns such as bullying were not always addressed as effectively or proactively as they should have been. Certain supervision policies could also place teachers in difficult situations while trying to balance the needs of individual students with the safety and instruction of an entire class.

Another concern is the amount of work teachers are expected to complete outside of instructional time. Teachers may spend substantial personal time creating lesson materials, presentations, worksheets, and lengthy lesson plans when sufficient curriculum resources are not provided. I would also like to note that we are told around the 2nd quarter of the school year to basically abandon our curriculum and teach based on standards.

There are many students, families, and educators here who care deeply about the school and want it to succeed. I believe the school could improve significantly by listening more closely to staff and students, communicating more clearly and professionally, applying policies consistently, strengthening behavior and bullying supports, and providing teachers with stronger curriculum resources and realistic workloads.

My experience at this school has been horrible from a teacher harassment toward my child from the owner not stepping in to solve the problem.The favoritism and also not communicating with the parent if something happens with the child.Teacher failing children because they don't like them. And the high turnover of employees

Open communication! A lot of opportunities for parents to get involved. High expectations for the children. Offers a lot of different experiences like horse back riding, dance, acting, band and Spanish. They are a little strict but I believe this helps lower behavior problems. Overall an awesome school.

My experience at D.E.L.T.A. STEAM Academy has been both eye-opening and educationaltruly one I could write a book about. To start, the school is home to some exceptional teachers and staff members who care deeply about students and work hard every day to make a difference. Many of the students are bright, respectful, and full of potential.

Unfortunately, the greatest challenge lies within the leadership structure. The principal, who often refers to herself as the Boss, consistently demonstrates a lack of professionalism, accountability, and emotional intelligence. Her leadership style has created an unpredictable and often discouraging climate in the buildingone that seems to fluctuate based on her personal mood rather than a shared vision for student success.

Many teachers remain because they are either early in their careers, seeking certification, or simply value the stability and smaller class sizes that the school offers. Likewise, families often choose D.E.L.T.A. for its safer, smaller environment compared to larger public schools.

The potential for greatness absolutely exists herethe staff and students deserve strong, consistent, and respectful leadership that empowers rather than intimidates. Until that shift in leadership occurs, the schools full promise will remain unrealized.

My experience at Delta STEAM Academy has been nothing short of amazing! I absolutely love the cultureit truly feels like family. This is the first school Ive ever seen where everyone knows the children personally and genuinely cares about their well-being.

The children are kept safe, and the staff is simply amazing. I also appreciate the unique opportunities they introduce to the students, such as equine therapy, which has been incredibly beneficial for my children. What stands out the most is how Delta STEAM isnt just preparing children to be workers like many traditional public schools dothey are intentionally training them to be thinkers, creators, and leaders.

I am beyond grateful for the love, care, and commitment this school shows every single day. Delta STEAM Academy is truly a blessing to our family!

This school had some really good teachers who most likely joined because of the beautiful vision of the school- STEM focused, Singapore Math curriculum, culture enrichment opportunities, etc. We were so hopeful and ecstatic when our children were accepted. We had them enrolled for nearly two years, with the youngest beginning kindergarten there. Unfortunately, it was all a dream it seems. It started off with this wonderful sense of community and the teachers were really engaged. But over the course of time, it was obvious that the leadership was seriously lacking. The founde and principal of the school has totally eroded the morale of the teachers and staff, and communication and organization is not chaotic. She does not allow the teachers to deviate from "her" curriculum- there is no consistent weekly, monthly ir quarterly learning agenda that is followed, no workbooks or learning material that is sent home so parents can actually help their child learn the concepts taught in class. The assessment tests kept changing, they were grading and scoring them on 200 things, so one minute your child is doing great and then the next, they aren't. Report cards aren't any help- they give numbers instead of grades for the younger kids. One minute your kid has the highest number in every subject, and the next the number is low. Tutoring is non-existent most of the time, and you have to beg for it when it's offered if your kid doesn't have low enough grades. I had no idea my son was learning how to subtract double digits and learning to carry- the teacher said they were learning analog time. They went from having no spelling words, to supposedly following the FRY words but that went out the window the second week of 1st grade, so you were at the mercy of the teachers list of 15 random words to know in 4 days. My kids are now at the public elementary school I so tried to avoid at first and are doing much better! Hopefully DELTA can overcome all their current issues, but fir now, this is not a well run school.

My experience at DSA was horrible. The communication and professionalism is terrible. The favoritism is at an all time high. The safety of the children is a concern. There is no school nurse. The school doesnt have a nurse office. There is no special education program in place. Everything comes with a cost with this school. They send out invoices and expect for you to pay within days. The principal does not respond to emails. You can never get in contact with her. They only have one award ceremony. The principal select the students for the awards. I find that to be funny because its the teachers in the classroom thats engaging with the students. Last time I checked, the principal always busy in meeting. The back to school list is a joke. My daughters never used their science goggles. One of my daughters never used her primary writing journals and I had to buy 5. All 5 came back like I just bought them. No writing in them. The students are always out of school. I wouldnt recommend this school to my worst enemy. This school doesnt have an athletic program. If she plans on opening a high school, it will not succeed without an athletic program. She doesnt let the kids express their talent. My best decision was to decline my children seats for the upcoming school year. My daughters are off to better schools and better opportunities. I regret trusting DSA with my babies.

As a parent, I was initially drawn to Delta STEAM Academy for its focus on science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. The concept is compelling, and the school promotes a lot of forward-thinking ideas on paper. Unfortunately, the actual experience has been disappointing due to serious issues with how school policies are implemented and how leadership operates. Hence, I was forced to withdraw my child.

Delta has a detailed Student and Family Handbook, but the problem is in the application and legalese of language. Behavioral policies are not enforced consistently, which creates confusion for students and frustration for parents. What one student might get disciplined for, another might get away with entirely. It gives the impression of favoritism or lack of control. They also practice pipeline to prison tactics by punishing and re-punishing students for the same offense.

The school operates with a top-down leadership approach that often excludes teachers and families from decision-making. Teachers seem unsupported and turnover has been noticeably high. This trickles down to students, who suffer from lack of continuity and engagement in the classroom.

Bottom line, communication is not clear, inconsistent and poor and administration operates as an oligarchy, with the principal referencing as "MY" school and carrying this out affecting staff and students.

DSA is the best choice that I've made for my child. She has been there for three years and each year, the school continues to get better and better. Principal Grier's vision is so clear for both the children and her staff. She holds both to high expectations. Of course as a newer school, there are going to be some challenges, but it is really important that parents stay involved and not become part of the problem. The school focuses in on Black culture, which has really helped my daughter's self confidence. Principal Grier is responsive whenever I need her and is diligent in her follow up after our meetings. I have a great rapport with the other admin and teachers as well. I wish more people knew about DSA because it is truly a hidden gem.

This school should be shut down immediately due to its glaring lack of competent leadership, which is driving it toward inevitable failure. The founder and principal exhibit unprofessional behavior, creating a toxic environment for students, staff, and parents alike. The level of disorganization is beyond comprehension, making it impossible to trust the administration.

As a parent, I have completely lost faith in their ability to run the school effectively. Time and again, they have ignored the genuine concerns of parents regarding critical issues such as communication, child development, and, most alarmingly, student safety. Their negligence and dismissive attitude have made it clear that they do not prioritize the well-being of the children in their care. This school is failing its students, and urgent action is needed.
