All three of my children have been at NCA for 2 years now and one of them has an IEP. I am very happy with my special needs childs progress and my other two childrens level of education. NCAs does it right and meets my children where they are.

This school has offered a great alternative to our districted school while providing a rigorous curriculum and a very structured environment. I am amazed at the things they learn and retain, which is proven in my sons test scores. We also appreciate the no non-sense environment which seems to eliminate a lot of the behavior issues typically seen in other schools. There truly is a focus on virtues which teach the students not just academically, but from a character standpoint as well.

We have been at NCA since its launch 5 years ago. We appreciate the classical education model offered here, as well as the principles of morality endorsed by the school and curriculum. Our daughter is thriving in the education, social interaction, and care of the faculty and staff of NCA.

I have lower school and a middle school aged sons enrolled at NCA, and both are thriving in this environment. We have been part of the school community since it opened in 2021 when they were in Kindergarten and First Grade. I have been especially impressed by how confidently students are taught to develop and express their ideas. Instruction emphasizes phonics based reading, Latin roots, weekly poetry memorization and recitation, and the importance of eye contact and presence when speaking.

Students also engage in ancient history that is intentionally integrated with art and music, encouraging deeper understanding and critical thinking rather than surface level learning. My kids are enthusiastic when they tell me what theyve learned that day. The school reinforces many of the academic and character values that are important to our family, and the teachers consistently demonstrate kindness and genuine care for the students.

Although I cannot speak to the upper school experience yet, dual enrollment could be a valuable option for highly motivated students who may benefit from accelerating their academic path. Despite this, I believe NCA is a strong school, and overall I am very pleased with our experience so far.

This school has been a game changer for us. Night and day experience compared to the school we were zoned for. The teachers are absolutely incredible. The curriculum is outstanding. It feels like family. My kids are thriving there. Meanwhile my senior who is at public school is absolutely flailing. Wish I could get him into Nca! My kids also feel very safe there.

We have two children enrolled at NCA and have been with the school since it opened in 2021. I'm impressed by the childrens ability to formulate and articulate ideas confidently, a direct result of the curriculum. Students learn phonetic reading, Latin word roots, weekly poem memorization and recitation, and eye contact during speech.
They study ancient history coordinated with art and music lessons, fostering critical thinking and deep knowledge. This gives me great hope for the future.
NCA reinforces everything we want for our children. The teachers are kind and caring. NCA has a respectful and dignified atmosphere.
I love many aspects of NCA, but some issues need resolution. Many parents feel their concerns or suggestions are ignored by the administrators. I'd like greater transparency on fund planning and spending, more after-school club options, and allowance for dual enrollment in high school. Dual enrollment would help ambitious students (many suited for law or medicine) shorten undergraduate time. Regardless of the issues, NCA is a fantastic school and overall we are pleased.

If your child has an IEP Or special education, I dont recommend this school. A public school is more equipped and fit for this. They have ignored her accommodations multiple times and she has suffered academically in her struggle subject because of it . I was told this school doesnt have basic accommodations set up Honestly, its because they are short staffed , and that is not a focus for them. I dont recommend ,My daughter has been attending since 2nd grade when the school first opened. This is her 5th year here. We have seen teachers come and go like a revolving door. They are short staffed and will place anybody in any position they can find. Her 4th grade teacher is now a 6th grade teacher. I dont know where they find some of these teachers at ,but almost every year I have had an issue with the way they have treated my daughter. Not professional , saying inappropriate things like your brain doesnt work (that teacher lasted a year. the teachers she has had in the past have not being suitable for the grade they are teaching. I will say I do like the uniforms they have , other than that Im looking into going back to a public school system.

A Positive Experience at North West Classical Academy

I dont mean to undermine some of the other reviews, but our experience with North West Classical Academy has been 100% positive. From day one, the teachers and administration have been incredibly supportive and approachable. We regularly check in with our daughter, who chose to attend NCA, and she genuinely loves it here.

One thing that stands out is the schools policy on electronics no devices allowed on campus which has really helped eliminate distractions and create a focused learning environment. As a parent, this is something I deeply appreciate, especially compared to the typical public school experience.

I cant speak to the experiences of children with specific needs, but I want to express my empathy and respect for anyone who feels differently. Every childs experience is unique, and I would never discredit that. For our family, NCA has been a wonderful fit, and were grateful for the community and quality education they provide.

Administration is prideful, rude, and egotistical. Students of faculty and staff favored & given better opportunities than others. Bullying prevalent, and might just stem from example and tone set by administration. Leadership touts virtues and hold crazy high expectations of students, yet do not personally exhibit them. Extremely controlling environment.

Northwest Classical Academy has been excellent for our children. Both our daughters have flourished academically and have acquired a wealth of knowledge. The schools comprehensive curriculum not only emphasizes academic excellence but also fosters the development of essential character traits. Our daughters have learned to become well-rounded citizens who possess critical thinking skills, the ability to formulate insightful questions, and the fortitude to stand up for their beliefs.

Grateful to have our children at NCA since the first year. Now in our fourth academic year, our experience has been great, the school does a great job at communicating, and our kids are excited to go to school every day. In addition to a strong academic foundation, we appreciate the school's emphasis on character formation, personal responsibility, and striving for excellence. NCA is delivering on its mission to develop students through virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility.

We have so much love for this school. Our kids have been challenged in so many meaningful ways at NCA, and we have watched them grow academically and in confidence year over year. The curriculum is outstanding and our kids are learning valuable analytical and communication skills that will greatly benefit them into adulthood. As a family, we feel like we are part of a community at NCA. This community results from an incredible amount of dedication and investment from the faculty and staff, so many of the parents, and the students themselves. Its also been exciting to watch the athletic, fine arts, and extracurricular programs grow over the years as the school itself grows. We feel so fortunate to be a part of NCA!

Our experience with Northwest Classical Academy (NCA) has been deeply disappointing, particularly regarding their treatment of special needs students. As parents who have supported this school both financially and through active involvement, it is heartbreaking to witness how the administration handles special education.

We enrolled our child at NCA believing they would receive the support and care they need. Unfortunately, this has not been the case. Weve observed troubling patterns, including inconsistent adherence to policies that seem to change without notice, especially when it suits the administration. Despite our best efforts to work with the school, we encountered resistance and even hostility when advocating for our childs needs.

The communication from the school has been accusatory and dismissive, making us feel more like adversaries than partners in our childs education. This environment of intimidation and the schools reluctance to adhere to our child's IEP left us no choice but to withdraw our child for their well-being.

Parents of children with special needs should proceed with caution when considering NCA. While the school may present itself as supportive, our experience suggests otherwise. If your child requires any form of special education support, you may want to explore other options where their needs will be genuinely prioritized and met.

Ive gone to NCA since it started in 2021 as a sixth grader. This school has terrific teachers in the upper school (7th-12th) who relate well with the students. They seem to genuinely care about each student. Theres an excellent curriculum from Hillsdale college.
Theres very little bullying in this tight knit community. My complaints would be that technology is prohibited. You cant have phones out on campus which has it pros and cons. Uniforms are required. There is no duel enrollment for high school and few AP classes.
