We are a military family, and our son’s experience at Radford far exceeds the private international school he recently attended. Teachers are exceptional; our son is appropriately challenged in class. Counselors, admin, and other staff are welcoming, caring, and supportive. Our son has made friends easily with other students. We couldn’t be happier with Radford!

I've attended this school for three years now and am going to graduate with the class of 2024. For a little background, I'm a military child and have grown up on the move and have attended many schools. This school, out of ten total separate schools, by far is grossly the worst school I have ever attended in my entire life. I can't imagine a worse place to receive an education. My parents have had constant struggles with the school administration who rarely engage in respectful, helpful conversation with the parents, information on school events is always either too little to go off of and/or very hard to find, there is no place for student's with sensory issues to go during overstimulating situations and they get bounced between the nurse, the office, and the counselors, students who have to sit out of overwhelming events due to such sensory issues are never informed of the information they missed and there is no other way to get it, many teachers act hostile towards students of the LGBT+ community, trans and non-binary students who'd prefer to go by their chosen name constantly get outed in class despite the promise of a system meant to kept their dead-names hidden from the class, there are little to no warnings before students face disciplinary actions, disciplinary actions may be handed out over the smallest of infractions and often lead to public embarrassment and detraction from the student's learning, students are put in dangerous situations that aren't properly controlled by the admin, and so on. Genuinely, if there is another school you can go to please don't come here, this is a truly awful school and I wish I'd have never attended it.

Both my daughters were assigned to radford. One graduated. Lots of extra curriculum. Also a HOSA. Military and local school. Never had any problems with my children or staff.

I graduated from Radford and it was not great. I was bullied and was left to deal with it on my own. The sad thing is some of my worst bullies were teachers.

We are military and stayed an extra year so our son could graduate here. We came from Viriginia, and he was more challenged by the higher level classes here than there. Radford's new principal is very responsive and supportive of academics and fine arts, in addition to athletics, which has traditionally received exceptional support. In 2014 Radford was rated the #4 public high school in Hawaii by Honolulu Magazine. Radford also offers 11 AP classes, has a nationally recognized Transition Center which helps transfer students adapt. Radford s music program is growing and expanding, especially in marching band and drum line. Students used to request geographic exceptions to transfer out of Radford for music, but now students are asking for GEs to get into the Radford Band. On the downside, Radford lacks some facilities/amenities of many mainland schools, but that is how the schools are set up here. Also, we feel that the science department is not as good as it could be, and our daughter was disappointed that there is not much of a drama department. These are some of the reasons Radford doesn t get 5 stars, but under the current leadership it is improving every day.

Awesome school. Being a retired Navy .The ROTC PROGRAM IS AWESOME.GREAT LEADERSHIP!!! My daughter is a sophomore ,3 sport student athlete and maintain a 3.8 gpa.Had a lil problem at first with the volleyball coaches, they have gotten better .New ones. Basketball coaches awesome and Track Coaches awesome. I would like to be an assistant coach for JV girls. They got a lot of talent at that school. Military kids and local community kids. Great combination. Parents just have to me involved with there child activities. . GO RAMS!!!!!!

The worst school my kids have ever attended for athletics. Academics is OK, but the athletic dept is horrendous. From what I have seen, most coaches are very biased toward the local kids. You can be one of the best persons on your team, but if you aren't from Hawaii, you will be treated like dirt. Tried talking to AD and several coaches (from different sports), but it goes in ear and out the other. There is never any positive reinforcement from the coaches. It always negative...negative...negative. This absolutely the worst experience my children have ever had. What makes it worse, is that it isn't just one sport. It is the same across several different sports.

Radford is really an awesome school. It may not be the "best" but it's still a great school. The people are laid back, but you can still learn in a relaxed environment. The majority of the teachers really do care and the academics are as good as any and if you need more of a challenge just go into honors or AP courses. There are plenty of clubs and sports and things to get involved in if you just put yourself out there. And there really aren't any racial issues at this school (this is coming from a haole military kid). It is culturally diverse and if you're worried about it then just change your attitude, come in with an open mind and respect the hawaiians and their culture and you won't have any problems, to be honest, they're extremely nice and willing to meet you as long as you don't come in with an "I'm better than you" attitude. I couldn't be happier with the people that I have met and the experiences I've had. I encourage you to try the school, and then, if you don't like it, sure you can send your kid to a private school that's going to cost you thousands of dollars, but you're still going to encounter similar problems at any school you go to.
