Opinions on standard homework differs from teacher to teacher. While some love it, others have researched disadvantages to it.

As a teacher here, I would like to say we are all effective. We all work very hard to make sure our students are getting exactly what they need to be successful. However, we are all human and to generalize all of us as being perfect, I’d have to say no. But I can tell you, that we have been blessed with a great new leadership team, and a lot of things are changing for the better.

We are definitely trying to! In the next few years as our current numbers change, we will see if our efforts created long term effects!

Will and Jorie are very familiar with our students and their families individual needs and strengths. We are working on building relationships between teacher/admin/community/ and students

We have a very high English language learners population here. Those that need additional help are being serviced through special intervention daily. Most teachers consistently rely on computer program intervention, and small group intervention in our classrooms. Unfortunately, many of our students leave our doors at the end of the day, and are not able to practice speaking or reading at home as much as we would like with their peers, or parents. This is one of the reasons we are struggling to get our kids to pass the standardized testing. It is a very difficult task, though not impossible, to catch so many children up to state standards that don’t use the English language at home. The test is easier for those that have parents with broader English vocabularies.

This school is working to improve bullying issues we may already have, and to prevent future problems. We have instilled a social and emotional program called, “choose love”. With practice, our students will be able to resolve conflicts peacefully, and be a better person regardless of the choices others make. At this time, we do have some children who are being referred to interventions for their behavior. We have seen in our experience that often bullying is a learned response, and takes a community of parents, teachers, admin, and peers to solve. I can say that we are really focused on solving this issue.

I would rate my experience as average. From a teachers perspective, I personally feel that I have really worked hard to show my students how much I love them, and want them to succeed. The teachers I have worked with are constantly evolving to find ways to fix some of these issues I see on this website. If you are a parent considering a move to this school, please know that the teachers and administrators really care about your child. We will do everything in our power to make sure they have what the need to grow in their learning and social skills. We are not perfect, we make mistakes, but in my experience I have yet to meet one of our teachers not willing to make things right. Our clientele is varied in economic levels from homelessness to more than enough. Many of our students are facing hardships at home, or are dealing with a language barrier that is slowing them down. But, on the other hand many of our students are thriving! We have great school programs and sponsorships from the community that are helping raise the bar tenfold! We have such high hopes for the years to come, and can see a shift right around the corner! So in regards to our results from this website, I thought it needed a real review. Someone with their feet in the mud really working in this community to better the lives of these kids. I am very proud to have worked in this school because the students have taught me how to think outside of the box when learning looks rough, and great support from fellow teachers who are facing the same struggles. I can honestly say that I am a better teacher to have worked here. Go Rams!
