The school is very affordable and has a sense of Ohana. The location is amazing. I do wish that although Pidgin English is part of being Kamaaina that they would promote the speaking of better English. I dont think they should discourage speaking it, but emphasize the importance of learning how to speak properly if not for anything else to increase English comprehension and prepare them for college. Even at this age.

My son has attended Haleiwa elementary school since kindergarten and it's a fantastic school! They won blue ribbon acknowledgment in 2014 and the school and its staff are superb.
Every teacher and administrator is met have been warm, friendly and caring. It's a small school so my son knows everyone and calls them all Auntie. Most grades only have one class of students and the small population leads to a lot do individual attention given to each student.
The school grounds are beautiful with ocean view on the North Side and mountain view on the West side. I would recommend this school to anyone moving to the area.

This is the best public elementary school in Oahu. My daughter is going to this school. The principal and teachers remember every student name. This is not happening in other school that I observed. Many students that attend this school come from poor families yet they are able to achieve a great score in math and reading. In 2014, this school received a Blue Ribbon Award. It is award that is difficult to accomplish without an excellent teachers and students.

All 4 of my children have gone to Haleiwa. The teachers are so caring. Not only are the education of their students important but the happiness and well being as well. Each of the teachers give one on one time with their students. NO child is left behind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. The Principal is the most giving of all. She knows each childs name and is there for them. The family nights that she has where a dinner is served along with interesting activities that families can enjoy and drawings just highlights how much she cares about her Haleiwa Elementary School. This little school in the country has the heart of any big school. We have achieved high scores in not only math, reading, science but more important we have been rated 7th out of 258 other schools. Says alot about one small school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a great school. It has so many perks about it. Not only is it filled with history and been part of the community for 140yrs, it has smaller classroom sizes than most so the kids not only get one on one attention, but they also get lots of care from the staff. Everybody seems to know everybody when you step on this campus..not like a larger school where your just a name and a face for a year until you move to the next teacher. The staff puts their heart into this school and it shows. The kids are also close with each other since it is a smaller campus and everyone is familiar with each other. It's like a big happy family. I couldn't have enrolled my children into a better school and feel completely content and safe each day I drop them off.

Caring staff and teachers, valuable one on one time between the teacher & student, low student to teacher ratio so child has greater opportunity to really learn what is being taught. The school has been part of the Haleiwa community for 140. It is a beautiful campus with a rich history. I am very pleased with this school.
