As a military family, our kids have attended a plethora of schools across the country. After leaving Hawai'i, my kids attended some of the top ranking schools in Silicon Valley, where the teachers asked, "what school did your kids attend? They are so advanced." Wilson. This school nurtured my children, grew their understanding of other cultures, and made them better people. They are now in high school and, if I had to choose the best school they ever attended, it would be this one. Wilson is an amazing school, with some of the best teachers in the country. Do they have high expectations? Absolutely. This must be embraced. Allow your kids to struggle, learn, and gain self efficacy. As high schoolers, they have earned multiple awards, scored at the top of AP and ACT exams, etc. Most importantly, they still love learning. They can still chant the Wilson oli, perform a hula, and their ipu grace our bookshelves. In essence, this school is incredible.

Upsetting. Sad to see students handcuffed of becoming an individual and allowing them to be creative. They expect the students to be robots. Many parents very heart broken for their child.

Teachers do not support emotionally. They are rigid. And punish kids by putting a sign in their shirt during lunch that they have to stay in for recess.

There is no encouragement for growing to become an individual. Expressing feelings is condemned.

It was a very long time ago, but I believe the encouragement I received really lay the foundation for the rest of my education.

I am a former student of Wilson Elementary and part of the graduating class of 2010. My 6 years at WE were amazing, from kindergarden to 5th grade. But only 2 of my teachers from my years there are still around, out of the 2 one is on my list of best teachers. She is an amazing teacher that cares about her students.

We have two children attending this school and we love it as much as they do. Atmosphere is great, homework is always plentiful and technology is better than what we have at home!

My child has been at Wilson for 2 years since third grade. Wilson is a great school with excellent leadership team and qualified teachers, and a supportive parent support group and community. Mr Kiyonaga is an experienced educator and school principal. Thank you Mr Kiyonaga and his staff.
