The new school director started in 2016 and the morale is so positive and supportive. I've never worked in such an uplifting environment!

The school incorporates Christianity in it's teaching and most of all how they treat one another. The classes have combined ages, for example the primary classes have children ages 3-6. The younger children learn how to work together and learn from the older children, and the older children learn leadership skills and compassion. The teachers foster a loving, caring, respectful environment, in the way they treat the students and the way they encourage kind, positive interactions amongst the students.

Some teachers at this school have been here for more than 30 years! There is also a teacher development coordinator who provides the teachers with an extra support system. The teachers take so much pride in what they do and love to be here.

I love working at Kawaiahao Church School and can't wait until my daughters are old enough to attend! It is truly a family environment, and teachers are loving, nurturing, and take so much pride in giving children the best education. The Montessori curriculum incorporates STEM teaching, and allows children to learn hands on.

This school offers such a safe, positive, and caring environment for students. Our daughter has been here for almost a year and it has been wonderful! Would highly recommend to anyone in the Downtown area.

kawaiaha'o is a christian school based on hawaiian values and a montessori curriculum. it offers the ideal mix of strong teachers and small class sizes, with a family atmosphere. my two daughters had no problem in transition from their former program/school to kawaiaha'o. it is worth all of the tuition.
