My daughter is currently on 504 plan, and the school has worked very hard for my daughter’s accommodations. Teachers are mostly nice and professional, overall we feel safe and believe our children would succeed with their education there.

Notice how low the percentage of students with disabilities is for this school? It’s because they try to avoid registering students with disabilities against federal law. They only care about their numbers. This is not a school that cares about its students.

The school principal, Mr. Murphy, refuses to allow students to drop any AP classes, regardless of pleas about how it might impact their GPA. He appears to prioritize the school's image over individual concerns. This excessive focus on AP classes seems unusual. Additionally, some of the female security guards, display unfriendly behavior that creates discomfort among girls. Their treatment of students, including body shaming, is unsettling, especially considering we are teenagers. Even the dress code violation consequences, such as wearing a bright orange shirt, seem designed to embarrass rather than educate. Their lack of empathy is truly disturbing. And if I’m being completely honest the principal is completely out of touch with the students true feelings, and doesn’t take any chances to understand them.

Excellent well-rounded school with great academics and extracurricular activities. Really like Principal Murphy and the administration.

My children loved Mililani High School! They had excellent teachers and a challenging curriculum. There is a robust accelerated program there. My children all got accepted into good universities and I credit the teachers and staff at this hardworking school.

Most teachers are not effective at teaching, i am not good with an environment that is unstructured and indirect. My grades went down after moving here from the mainland. The teachers have the attitude that if you fail it's your fault, i agree to a certain degree but i have learned almost nothing by being at this school. If education is a priority to you, i suggest being homeschooled or go to a private school if possible.

I feel like this school didn't develop character in me, people try to blend into the crowd and students & teachers are usually not respective towards each other.

The authority figures have a "i dont care" kind of attitude, they are slow and don't get much done. Most students are very neutral and don't step out of their shell.

In my experience (as a very extra loud and colorful person) I got REALLY bullied in middle school, but then i came here and it was silent. Not much bullying goes on, so i haven't had to deal with the admin with that. BUT, this school is better at dealing with it than others.

Im Pretty middle ground with it, my academics and grades DROPPED, teachers aren't good, and its hard to become friends with new people. Not cliquey, but hard to find a friend group

10/10 you have to consider, when reading reviews, that most people with good experiences don’t often write reviews. It’s more often that people with bad experiences write reviews. That being said, the fact that this school has so many good reviews is a testament to just how amazing it is. The teachers are wonderful and I have witnessed little to no bullying. If there is bullying it is immediately felt with and BOTH parties receive help.

As with any school, a student's experience at a particular school is what he/she makes of it. My daughter is currently a junior and has taken Honors or AP courses since her freshman year. The teachers are hard-working and committed to student learning. She passed the AP class she took last year and is taking 2 APs this year. She also plays in the string ensemble and after-school orchestra. If your son/daughter is motivated and serious about academics he/she will do well here.

Mililani High is an ok school. Regular classes aren't very challenging, and some particular English teachers seem to not be able to teach at all. Any math class above Geometry becomes extremely difficult, I was able to only get a C even with coming for help constantly. Some teachers, including a substitute, are able to belittle, insult and put down students, with absolutely no consequences given. Teachers seem to just get away with everything they do here. Another history teacher would assign 100 note cards for homework, would grade unfairly, and would refuse to discuss why she how she graded the assignment. She could never be reasoned with, either.

This school's staff and leadership are excellent. My son has been here for 1 year- for his sophomore year. The teachers he had were amazing- I wish I could name them!

I just finished my freshman year at MHS, and I am overall very impressed. I moved here to Oahu from the mainland right before school started. We chose to live in Mililani because the schools looked very good. MHS is definitely a very good high school. A new principal was called this year, and he is very involved. The old principal (also very good) became the superintendent. The teachers are all very good, friendly, and qualified with only a few bad ones here and there. The Pre-AP classes are more accelerated and rigorous than regular classes and have definitely helped me to prepare for AP classes I will be taking next year. I like how this school offers a 15 minute recess break after the first two periods so that students can have a break from their work. I am not involved with athletics but MHS has a very good sports program. The students are overall very friendly and I never had a bad encounter with another student. I was very impressed with my first year at MHS and I look forward to returning next year.

My daughter attends MHS and the honors and AP program is excellent. The regular classes are not challenging, but overall her experience has been good. She is also in JROTC, this is the first year that they have JROTC and she is learning A LOT in this program. I recommend this school.

We moved to Mililani specifically because of this school's rating as the best in the state. We have been here two years and cannot wait to LEAVE! This school is horrible. The teachers couldn't care less about the quality of their instruction. Everything is "group project", in which one or two students do everything, rest do nothing, and yet they all get the same grade. The teachers are not held accountable. We have gone twice with no response either time. First time was over a teacher who taught by throwing a video in every day and telling the kids if they had any questions, to read their books. The kids were all failing and I finally raised so much grief that the counselor transferred my kid to another teacher. Second, a science teacher threw fits, called the kids "incompetent" and other names, kicked lockers in frustration and broke glass beakers on the floor because he didn't like kids wearing open toe shoes. Despite all this, kids are pushed through the grades without basic skills to get them into college. DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE!!!

Best public high school you will find on Oahu, hands down. Students (and teachers) are held to a higher standard than in most DOE schools.

The school is very good at teaching the students what they need for their future and making sure that they pass all of their classes. They punish their students properly by detention such as cleaning up the campus or a teacher's classroom. Only a very small select few of teachers are considered unbearable. Otherwise all of the other teachers are excellent. The school also has a class almost every wednesday that helps us students get ready for life beyond high school.
