Our kindergarten has an appropriate amount of work for his age group. He is both challenged and able to complete his work so that he has time for himself in the evening.

Our kids have grown tremendously since attending St. A. The teachers make sure each child works to the best of their ability and is challenged without burning out.

The children are encouraged to learn and seek leadership opportunities. They learn from the leadership they experience each day. The church involvement plays a part in growth.

Each child is look at as an individual and gets direct attention from staff to make sure they are growing and learning to the best of their ability. Principal Spike insures each child has access to the resources that are available in the public school system.

After lots of research and conversations with Dowling admissions, we selected Saint Augustin on 43rd and Grand 8 years ago for my oldest. We are 3 kids deep and love it. Amazing education, great discipline, the parents are involved which I believe creates the best atmosphere for the staff and families. To top it off, multiple times I've heard and seen that the kids leave Saint Augustin and go on to Dowling and remain like a family. I first heard this from a neighbor girl who was from a different school and made that distinction of the kids as she observed them at Dowling.

6 years ago we had one incident of our child being hit by another. No school or student body is perfect... The swiftness that it was addressed and with dignity and respect to all. Because of the small school body, the staff was aware that the offending student was going through some difficulties at home and not usually trouble. That student felt terrible and apologized verbally and in writing to my son. My childs teacher, the offending child's teacher, leadership, and the aftercare program director all took the time to followup with us. Amazing thoroughness and respect to both children.

Bullying is not tolerated and is nipped at the first sign. Students address parents as Mr/Mrs LastName, respectfully address teachers and staff, care deeply for their peers, staff, community, and world. Middle schoolers are given service hour minimums for the school year and ample opportunities are available to allow the students to learn sharing of time and resources.

The small class sizes allow the teachers to keep an eye on all students and help those excelling with extra challenges while getting additional assistance for those needing a different approach.
