My experience with Kootenai Classical Academy has been extremely disappointing. As a parent, I expected a school that would prioritize student safety, provide adequate support for children who need additional help, and maintain clear communication with parents. That has not been my experience.
I have serious concerns about the schools handling of child safety, staffing, supervision, and the level of support available to students. I also have concerns about whether the school is meeting the standards and responsibilities expected of an Idaho public charter school receiving state funding.
What has been especially frustrating is feeling that legitimate concerns are not being adequately addressed and that parents are expected to accept decisions rather than being treated as important partners in their childs education.
Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this school to parents who are looking for a school that provides strong communication, accountability, safety, and individualized support.
Parents should ask very detailed questions about student safety, staffing, special education/support services, and how the school handles parent concerns before enrolling their children. Be prepared for retailiation against you and your child.

The Music class, office staff, Social Studies teacher and 8th grade Math teacher seemed to engage the children in wanting them to learn. Seventh & 8th grade staff are what I'm basing this survey on. Staff is willing to meet, listen and work on any issues that may arise.
