The Goddard School - Third Lake

I think this preschool is good for most children. It's clean, it's safe. The owner is onsite and is just an outstanding guy. He truly cares. In our experience they are the type of school that expects children to fit into a very small box, and if they don't fit into that box you will find they think it is a problem and push their mobile therapy pretty hard. If your kid is exceptionally gifted, they are unlikely to flourish here. Long after we pulled our son out of Goddard he was given an early IQ test and was found to be profoundly gifted. He was reading before age two, doing basic math before 3, and Goddard really failed to even realize his abilities. A few teachers noticed, but many did not. We would get reports that said something like "Aaron knows his colors!" when he had known his colors for years. It never felt like they knew him at all. Those that did know he could read were unable to accommodate him in any way to keep him challenged. Again, I think most kids do great here. Exceptionally gifted kids, or kids that don't "fit into the box" for one reason or other, might do better elsewhere.

Both of my daughters attended this Goddard School. The teachers and staff are wonderful. The kids learn new things daily. By kindergarten your kids are well prepared for first grade.
