St. John is truly a COMMUNITY! As a military family living in the area for a limited time, we have been welcomed and LOVED by the staff, administration and teachers at St. John. Our children have attended programs ranging from PreK-3 up to 5th grade in the last four years. Each teacher has dedicated their days to support, love and guide students through not only their curricula but also their spiritual growth! HIGHLY recommend!

St. John Lutheran School is an excellent school and has been a blessing to our son. They provide an excellent small class education experience, with great teachers who provide a Christ centered learning community.

Thank you so much, St. John teachers, for all the hard work and dedication to our children since we started e-learning. We have been so impressed by how much you care about the continued education of our kids, and the resources you have given to us to help keep them learning. The education and support that the St. John teachers have provided since we started online learning is far and above what we have heard from other family and friends across the country. We are so appreciative that our teachers love and care for our children this much. We miss our St. John family and can't wait until we're back together again!

Homework is age appropriate and they are given time to finish it at the end of the day to avoid bringing it home. If they work effectively they can get most of it done before the end of school.

Truly caring and professional staff. They get to know your child and are always in communication through web based tracking and weekly progress reports and newsletters.

My children's spiritual development has grown by leaps and bounds since we started here (3 years ago.) They are involved in charitable giving as well as learning about the expectations of our Lord.

Leadership is warm and caring. Love being greeted by the Principal outside as we come to school in the morning.

I don't have personal experience with this.

Teachers and administration have been open and receptive when it comes to issues between students. Older kids often mentor younger students.

Happier and happier to be at St. John's. Grateful for the spiritual family I have met in the parents and teachers.

This school is very impressive. We left a very highly ranked public school that in my opinion was just coasting. At St. John’s they are learning states, continents, science, history, math, money and faith. I appreciate they are not just at a desk doing worksheets all day. This school is truly wonderful.

They are always thinking outside the box with learning. The academics are very strong. We left the highly rated public schools in our area to come here and do not regret the decision at all. This school is truly a gem.

The leadership is kind and really cares about their students.

Our child is busy and the school has worked with us so much to figure it out. The patience and kindness showed from this school is wonderful.

This school in my opinion is a decent school but doesn't have the qualities to be a great school and I don't see that changing. The leadership at the school is laughable at best. Like I said before they care more about their numbers than the actual students. There are teachers who should not be there and are not fit to teach. In my opinion I regret sending my kids to this school and I apologize to my kids and all the other students that they had and have to deal with this.

They do a good job of a signing the right amount for each grade level.

Posted: May 19, 2018

Not all the teachers there are the write fit. Some don't know what they are doing and others need more than just help in the classroom.

Posted: May 19, 2018

I don't see that from the teaching staff. They say that they do this but they are hypocrites and do not practice what they preach and teach.

Posted: May 19, 2018

I don't see that the teachers get the help they need. In my opinion they are more worried about getting their numbers up than the actual students in the school.

Posted: May 19, 2018

I saw this first hand. Students that need more help with learning disabilities do not really get it. Children are passed on even though they are not ready for the next grade level leaving the next teacher to solve the problems the child has.

They have a no tolerance policy but kids are still bullied. The bullies are repremamded but it doesn't stop the problem.

Personalized learning approach for one of my children. Strong focus on task lists and organizational tools. Integrity, compassion, respect, team building and solidarity are all words I hear my child refer to - they feel empowered to make changes in the world and how children treat each other. Weekly report cards allows for a focused discussion on where we see gaps or delays in comprehending what is taught. All teachers are engaged and many join forces on a certain topic - this leads to new approaches and ideas to accomplishing a task. Before care, After school care, external enrichment classes offered (engineering, coding), competitive sports and music classes offered.

Being a military family with a preschool aged child, it's a bit stressful to find a great school where you know no one. We read the reviews about St. John & checked out their website. The reviews on this site and the informative snippets on their school site helped to cement our decision to try their school. Our daughter is in the K3 program and we are loving it! Every single teacher is so kind and seems to love what they do and the kiddos that they are entrusted with. The principal is so welcoming and helpful. There is such a good balance of instruction and play. We look forward to sending our child to St John for the next few years while we are stationed here in Great Lakes.
