I was very anxious to allow my daughter to attend this school because of so many bad reviews. I went ahead and established a back up plan in case it was as bad as everyone says that it is and needless to say, my daughter still attends school here. Her teacher Mrs. Ruiz is absolutely wonderful! She is thoroughly involved with all of the kids, actually cares and provides an exceptional amount of feedback considering my daughter is only in first grade. I have heard horror stories about some of the other teachers like Mrs. Wolfe, but I do not feel I can pass judgement on them because I have not dealt with them personally. However, I would most definitely recommended Mrs. Ruiz. My daughter has learned more in the short amount of time with Mrs. Ruiz than she did her entire year in kindergarten last year. I have not personally had any negative experiences with the faculty or in terms of my daughters education, but everyone's experience is different.

  • Recommendations: I have heard that the schools located in Gurnee, which is about 15-20 minutes away, has exceptional schools and their ratings are much better.

  • What did you like? The teacher and the staff have always been courteous and informative. My daughter was not catching on quickly in terms of reading, even with consistent reading at home. She had a difficult time with developing her reading strategies, they placed her in a group with a tutor to help her with her reading. Unlike in Florida, I did not have to request that my daughter receive some type of help, it was already implemented to help her be successful and master those important reading strategies. I
  • What did you dislike? I have not experienced anything in a negative aspect of this school therefore I have nothing to dislike about it thus-far.
