Our three kids all attended and the teachers and leadership team truly had a vested interested in making sure each student in the classroom was taught to their level. Great teacher communication and accessible principal. re: other reviews referencing outside tutoring, we did not encounter this as the rule. Of course some parents get outside help for their kids, it seems like significantly fewer had private tutoring than in neighboring communities.

We were told that each grade level should mean 10 minutes of homework. We started at GG in 4th grade and we had approximately 40 minutes per night. Getting ready for Middle School was a key measure for our family. Now in 6th Grade she has made the tough transition effectively.

A very welcoming environment for a transferring family. The teachers collaborated to make our daughters transition very effective.

A foundational part of their whole child focus, we were very gratified to see our daughter thrive in understanding her role in her class and school.

The Superintendent is visible and the Principal is really great. A true leader, she is seen at every school event, knows every one of her more than 500 children and sets the tone for excellence.

Absolutely. Glen Grove is one of the District schools that focuses on the Learning Different child. Always seeking to engage the entire family in the development of IEPs and 504s we could not have been happier with the collaboration shown our family.

Glen Grove Elementary School (3rd-5th Grade) is designated an 'Exemplary School' by the State of Illinois State Board of Education. One of eight schools that make up Glenview District 34, in the most recent reporting year (2020) it has performed in the Top 10% of schools in Illinois, with no underperforming student groups.
Our family was proud to have had our daughter finish 4th Grade, we transferred in mid-year, and 5th Grade at Glen Grove (the Gators). The transition for our daughter was much better than expected. From the Principal through to each of the classroom teachers; the focus is on the whole child.
If you decide to move through District 34 the Middle Schools in the district are Attea Middle School and Springman Middle School. Both are highly regarded.

The low community rating is skewed low. Glen Grove has been a wonderful school for my two kids. We transferred in from another state a few years ago, so I have another school to compare.
Positives:
- Principal Vena is a dedicated professional and it's clear that she cares about her students.
- The 4th and 5th grades loop with the same teachers. It has helped both of my students to grow since they have that extra year during a critical stage of developing learning habits.
- I have been very happy with the teachers. They have a lot to balance with all of the pressure of testing, parents, students, etc. The teachers I've dealt with have been very supportive of my kids. They have been able to be creative in how they engage kids in learning while letting me know how I can help my kids at home to meet the same goal.
- They use technology in key areas to support learning (google docs, poplet, etc.).
Not so positive:
- The focus on testing is a little much. I'm sure that all public schools have this issue, though.
Overall, Glen Grove is a great school. From the moment you walk in the front office, you can tell that it's a positive environment.

teacher don't care that much about any things at all all they can say that your kids are good and smart and perfect ,,,but in real life in school it's not like that at all ,,,this school has a weak teaching system and all that because most of teachers are not good enough to be where the are right now and I think the principal is responsible for all teachers in fact because she hire them ,,,

I am very disappointed with Glenview Schools. I have bought condominium in Glenview because of the schools but I am very disappointed. The school has good rates not because of help of teachers but because most of children is sign up in some after school tutoring centers or tutoring. I pointed out this to superintendent and principal but they don't care. My son is in 5th grade and from 1rd grade he did not have any real homework. He scored very low in his 2nd, 3rd grade and teacher are telling me how cute is my son, how smart, she did not tell me that he needs a help or how she can help him. I ask her if he is so smart if he would get to gifted program she laughed at me and told me in gifted program you have to study, so some children are at school to study but some to have fun. I could tell many more bad things about this school but not really anything good.

I signed my child up for Glen Grove last year, along with an agreement that they not use my child's image for any purpose what-so-ever. I spoke with District 34 and also the principal of GG and they acknowledged my concern and promised to be diligent. However, they not only put my child's image on a Newsletter, but in the yearbook. After bringing this to the principal's attention, she was unwilling to take accountability and responsibility... in fact, she said it was my child's fault for standing in the picture.... unbelievable
