Great school and overall good teachers. Discussions about racism and equality should be taught to the students because apparently it is not being taught in the home.

If you are looking for a school for your kids I dont recommend taking them here. I am aware of many students that are getting bullied here, yet the school does nothing. Students get bullied and there has been cases where students are actually getting hit by others, but you guessed it the school did nothing. The school also punished a kid that was getting bullied by suspending him when he was getting called names and getting choked. Very disappointing how they handle situations youll probably get ignored when you want to defend your child and rushed out the door. The school wouldnt know how to handle your kids getting bullied, and if you want to save them from that trauma dont bring them to this school.

Teaching is good but everything else ain't good

The Homework depends on Grade. 8th grade uses Canvas to get around places which isn't a bad idea. 7th grade does rely on packets. 6th grade uses Google Classroom

From my experience they did okay. Most teachers do just fine teaching. The worst offender, however, is the 7th-grade blue team. it was a travesty. Except for you, Mr Teichert

Most students don't develop strong characters when in this school. They're either entitled or from the hood. They don't learn respect they just get worse. the Fake gangster charade gets irritating after a day. Most of those kids however are gone by highschool so VHHS shouldn't be hard.

The principals are deceptive and don't understand the students. They give the students a fake platform called "Student Council" where students decide spirit week days and help with the student store, but don't get actual power when it comes to rulemaking. The teachers are told to act like Student council means something by saying the representatives do something other than sitting around like fools listening to one of the Gym teachers rambling about something. There are also the atrocious lunch rules that the students are bestowed every 2 weeks. Such terrible rules and logic include, "If students play on their phones they aren't socialising, but if they talk too much we separate them by homeroom.". Principal Collins doesn't understand the students and neither does trowbridge

depends on the student. I personally felt like I wasn't helped out in a necessary way. My Accommodations were pointless for the most part and made me do pointless tasks like a self-evaluation or resource. I wasn't like other students in those types of classes however because, from my experience, most weren't good at socializing with people either because kids didn't like them or just introverts.

Surprisingly, this handles Bullying well. There is bullying around the school. I.E the students I was talking about earlier. Most bullying cases aren't reported because of some no snitching rule but when they are The schools handles them fine enough.

They gave out useless homework that never helped me out in any sort

Since I moved here from a better school coming here was disappointing on the way they teach and other assets. Most of them are lazy and rely on lousy packets and worksheets as opposed to authentic and REAL styles of visual teaching and such.

Almost every student here is rude and entitled when it's not even a that good of a school to begin with
Posted: July 16, 2017
Everything is so disorganized here in all senses.
Posted: July 16, 2017
They only teach in one way and that is in packets and worksheets.

pretty awful and they really don't seem to care about their jobs.

The leadership of the principal and some of the teachers are exemplary. The principal has been here for over 20 years, and I can tell he loves his job and loves to see kids learn and grow. He knows the name of all the kids, over 400 names! We have two boys in HMN this year. We are new to the area and the school district, but the teachers made the transition so much easier for our boys. They have an excellent music program. Both the orchestra and band directors are among the best in the state in my estimation. Teachers are very kind and responsive to our communication. They welcome parental involvement. In fact, they act as if they are hungry for it. We are thrilled that our boys are in this great school. Will update info later as we learn more details and are in a better position to evaluate everything. But so far, great!

This school is pretty nice. The teachers are kind and understanding but also make you focus and work, which is a good and essential thing. The related arts rotation is amazing, and the physical education is very good. The principal is nice, but hardcore. He also really wants the students to be successful. It is a very nice and safe school!
