Some teachers are good, but the overall approach allows kids to fall behind. Lack of effective support for learning differences. Lack of transparency: The school pretends everything is all right even when the kid needs extra help. They do not have the kid’s interest as priority. The school was not a partner of ours in providing our kid’s best education and support. The principal is inadequate.

We moved to this area and bought a house here because of its school system. Our daughter went here from Kindergarten to 2nd grade. We moved from a private school where our daughter used to receive speech support. I remember asking to the school if she needed speech support and was answered "it doesn't hurt". Who spends an additional $600/month if 'it doesn't hurt? So we suspended the therapy and left our daughter attending classes always receiving positive feedback from teachers. According to them, everything was fine. It was only during the Covid pandemic, when we saw our daughter at home struggling compared to most of her peers, that we realized something was definitely not right. My wife and I realized our daughter needed a multisensory approach for her learning. We reached out in August 2020 to the school saying we thought our daughter needed support. In December 2020 we were presented with an IEP that was clearly inadequate. To keep it short, we learned at our expense that some kids are just ignored. There are some good teachers, but the management was very messy and unclear. We had to sell our house and move out of State to give our daughter the education she deserved, which is a multisensory approach in teaching (1 out of 5 kids need it) with a modern empowering approach and not the absurdly old mentality of approaching dyslexia that teaches kids "they have a disability". Very disappointing.

Horrible school in a horrible district. Do not represent students’ interests. Very self serving. Do not recommend.

Sherwood has fantastic teachers, who really Convey a passion for learning, but tmy child also experienced a rigid, "school marm" type, who didn't appreciate his out of the box thinking, and refused to diverge from her daily worksheets.
