Weve had four kids at this school. Its a really great school! We are also a military family so our kids didnt grow up in the school but started later and weve had a great experience.

We are proud to be an Adler Family and give the school five stars. Our children have varying needs of academic and social-emotional support and the school has gone above and beyond to assist us and communicate with us every step of the way. When we ask for support, it is provided. Families are involved and included and the teachers are so clearly invested and devoted to their students' well-being. Adler is one of the smaller four D70 elementary schools, but to us, we feel lucky that the teachers and principal know our names and welcome the kids each day with a smile.

It is challenging and interesting, but does not overload the kids with too much to do.

Every year, my two kids have had great teachers. One of my children has special needs, and his teachers would write us emails -- without us even asking -- telling us how he was adapting to new challenges. My daughter is served by the gifted program that is tailored exactly to her developing mind.

My son has autism and the school has accomodated him so much and has helped him feel so comfortable. We are very grateful.

I give this school the highest rating. I am so pleased with its academics, character-building, and leadership. If I could give it an 11 out of 10, I would!

Great lack of diversity and knowledge dealing with diversity. Came across some judgmental staff and teachers. Close minded leadership. Yes, we came across some great teachers but the bad outweighed the good. They will support those students and families that they feel like supporting. How can you teach character if some leaders and/or staff lack true character? I support the last post before this one about this school.

This school has great leadership and I liked that it is small. However the teachers could be more patient, kind and also aware of children that have extra needs. My son was brushed off to the side and was obviously not the teachers favorite. He was put at a table called "the island" so he would have to sit by himself mostly. We tried to work with the teacher to help him but she did not want him in her class and had a bad attitude. My son has a high iq and we are thankful we moved to a private school. He is flourishing now.

I have nothing but praise for Adler Park and its staff. My children attended another elementary school in the past, and there is no comparison. They are being challenged, but in a very accepting environment. The teachers show a genuine interest in the students' academic and personal development. I'm ecstatic that I chose to make this move.

Adler is an incredible school. I agree with the rating comments before me. Perhaps it's you and not the school when you post one star for this school. I'm sending all three of my young kids through Adler. We LOVE this school!

1 star? Be realistic. Your child could be in Waukegan, Gurnee or North Chicago schools and would be swallowed in the masses. I don't know a parent of a "spirited child" that is happy with their child's school. Having a spirited child is a difficult situation that alone should not be a comprehensive perspective for which to critique this school. It is obvious based on the schools test scores and the work I see my child come home with that education and student enrichment is a top priority for this school. My daughter LOVES Adler and is eager to to go school each day. Many of the educational tools are structured so they are self-paced to accommodate the individual student. Additionally, if your student needs to be further challenged that is also accommodated through enrichment programs held during school hours. There are tons of extracurricular programs, the after school program is amazing, all of her teachers have been fantastic, and the school is not some modern day monstrosity. In the big scheme of things this is an AMAZING school. Let's stay realistic.

Adler Park School has it's pro's and con's. They do a great job offering many different programs, especially in sports and the option to take spanish classes at such an early age, although for an additional fee. The negatives are that there are few of the teachers who have the "I'm tenured" attitude and belief that they can get away with anything and the school does NOTHING about it. Just sad. I personally would not recommend this school. There are many other Libertyville schools that I have heard wonderful things about, this IS NOT one of them!

Adler Park School is an excellent and charming school and meets the needs of all children. It is the smallest school in Libertyville District 70 and has an outstanding principal and staff of teachers. The school caters to regular education classes and houses the district's gifted education program for fourth and fifth grade. As the parent of a child in gifted education (now in High School), i have to say it is the perfect place for a 'spirited' child.
