I personally enjoyed my time here. I thought most of my teachers were able to effectively teach course content and support me when needed. I enjoyed the different extracurricular programs here, and overall had a great high school experience. Of course, no school is perfect, but I do believe Maine East does very well and provides many opportunities for students to learn, grow, and prepare for life. I had never feared for my safety at school and enjoyed learning from the different cultures and perspectives that made Maine East unique.

This is a school community where all students, faculty and staff work together to bring out the best in themselves and serve others. This a great environment and diverse community and provides opportunities among many platforms.

My child had a choice between Maine East and Maine South and we are so happy they chose Maine East. Safe and inclusive environment, excellent teachers and social-emotional support, plenty of extra curricular activities, incredible Fine Arts program - those are just some of the many wonderful attributes of this school. We could not be happier.

This is the best school. My kids graduated from this school with not only great academic achievement but also being a good citizen. Not sure why other people give bad reviews.
This school offers so much to the students. They have the best internships and other programs. They offer very advanced and dual credit courses. This school prepares students to be a great citizens of the country.

The best school. Teachers care so much for the students. I personally know many students who graduated from Maine east and went to prestigious universities. Some of them are on their way to medical school. The best school.

I attended this school from 2009-2013. There were a lot of gangs and a lot of free time. Genuinley felt like attending was a waste of time. The first few houses nearby were actually gang houses.

I can confidentaly say I did not learn anything while attending here. The school is gorgeous though.

The greatness of this school cannot be described in words! Maine East isn't just a "school", it is Home. It's where most students found and still find warmth and solace. Everything-- including students and staff--is phenomenal! The provided opportunities for students are amazing. Bottom line, It's difficult to find a school like Maine East!

This is an awesome school, with a lot of 2nd generation kids. Probably the best kept secret out there (and hopefully will stay that way). Top academic programs and AP opportunities without the clickiness and social pressures that other schools have. It is diverse and that makes it unique or some like to say it "real world." The kids are extremely involved and they go on to some great colleges!

Most teachers go the extra mile and answer e-mails even late at night. Flipped classrooms are still a challenge, but overall very effective teachers.

Posted: August 19, 2015

There are a lot of Excel and AP classes and homework takes a few hours most nights, but it is a fair amount and is not just busy work.

Posted: August 19, 2015

The school develops kids to succeed in a real life environment and kids come out with a strong sense of ethics and honesty.

Maine East is a school with a many divers cultures. All of the students are different and most of the time they form groups with people who are culturally similar. I went to this school for two years and I can't say I had lots of fun there. I'm Eastern European and it was hard for me to find the right group where I could fit in since there are not so many other Eastern Europeans there. I feel that if you are from Asia it is easier to find close friends who understand you fully then if you are like me European. Not a lot of people understood me and I didn't always feel comfortable there.

I'm a former student and also had siblings that attended M.E. All I can say is that this is a great school. AP programs are great and top notch. Theater program is great. The school even has a radio station. Facilities are great. The only thing not so great is the football and basketball team. The teachers are great and care about their students. You won't see the typical peer pressure that you see in other schools. M.E. has been malign by outsiders who know nothing about the school, claiming that there is a gang problem and drug problem. In reality, there isn't a gang problem, it's suburban gang wannabes that can be found in many suburban schools. The rumors of a drug problem is just that, rumors. The test scores are not high because there's a percentage of the student population that do not come from wealthy or middle class families that have parents that are not actively involve with their child's education but you can't blame M.E. for that. A lot of these students also work almost a full time job and that takes away from their studies. If you want a great education M.E. is the place. Don't listen to the stereotypes and rumors. Bottom line is, M.E. is a great school.

I use to help teachers out with home work and do other things for them

I love Maine East. The student body is friendly and isn't cliquey, you could talk to the person sitting next to you in class without fearing of being judged. Some teachers are horrible but there's many tutoring opportunities and make up work. It's a safe environment
