This school is not a very good school. I was very lucky to have Mrs. Haufle because Mrs. Haufle is nice but the recess supervisors are not nice to my friend at all. They are not nice in general and that is what I dislike most about this school. The people other than the recess supervisors are nice but if your child is sensitive to yelling NEVER put them in this school. Mrs. Haufle didn't yell at all. All of the other teachers screamed their heads off. And the recess supervisors were as loud as a tornado siren. All those things that I scored were true. The recess supervisors sometimes keep the kids outside forever and when I say forever I mean forever. Just because of the quietest noise that you can make. I don't recommend this school.

They have a lot of family nights and activities for families. They use research based practices to support the curriculum to teach the students. They have a PBIS program that students have a lot of buy in from . Overall my kids Love going to school

I attended Culver school as an adolescent and I have to say the old principle (recently retired) was the epitome of patience, compassion and kindness while also being fair. Teachers all followed her example and she was an amazing influence on the overall school environment, I always felt safe with her around. My siblings now attend Culver years later and it is a totally different experience. To say I am baffled by the lack of etiquette and professionalism in the current administration is an understatement, they are dismissive and harsh to students and parents. Parents expressing concern are subjected to gaslighting and humiliation. Students often face emotional/mental abuse by the staff which is then justified and supported by admin. They lie to cover up their mistakes and negligence The vice principle used to be my favorite teacher when I was in school, and it is disappointing to see his ethics and approach with students decline the way that they have under the influence of his current leadership. Send your kids here if (and only if) there is an entirely new administration. Otherwise the school is clean and in a safe area, the only risk to your child's emotional wellbeing lies in the people working here.

half the teachers give you stacks and stacks whiles half the teachers give you nothing. And yet the motto for both is the same: "We don't believe in homework."

Only certain ones (Mainly the 7-8 grade teachers who actually understand human beings unlike all the other teachers in the building).

Posted: March 6, 2020

None of us (the students) have any respect for authority anymore, after seeing how badly it can be used. Very few students came out of the school with integrity or compassion. This school does not build character.

The preschool has been great. The celebration at the end of the year for graduation for moving up to kindergarten could use a little work. No fireworks or dancing horses. No trapeze artists. Just songs and slideshow of the kids.

There are many positive things I can say about Culver School. They have strong academics, and are always looking for ways to improve the curriculum. For a small school, there are many extra-curricular opportunities for kids to participate. Their school-wide events are a lot of fun, and help bring a sense of community to the school.

I am a graduate of Culver school. I was there K-8, and can say I was extremely prepared for high school as well as life post elementary school. Teachers were always knowledgable and helped each child out. Some of these reviews of "teachers touching students" or "not effectively dealing with bullying" are absolutely ridiculous. They offer a broad selection of extracurriculars like orchestra, band, chorus, and jazz band. They offer a myriad of different sports. The school prepares you for the fine arts program at Niles West through the music classes but also through art, computers, and the yearly school play. My freshman year of high school I was placed into an AP class as well as honors classes, and I felt extremely prepared and had the same or more prior knowledge compared to the rest of the class (I did not take any tutoring outside of school). Send your children to Culver. It is extremely organized, clean, and overall great school and I am so happy this is where my parents decided to send me.

I love our community school! It has warm and caring teachers who go the extra mile for students. My child is in Orchestra, and the school has a full time teacher. The class sizes are low and there are lots of clubs and activities for students to participate in.

I am very pleased with this school, the education is well rounded, they seem to apply different techniques even when the curriculum is based on the state agenda such as common core. I appreciate the diversity, the access to on staff support for students falling behind or excelling. I also like the technology the school is introducing at all grade levels and utilizing for all homework and group studies via the school supplied Chrome Books. Overall it is a great school.

My Grandchildren attend this school and they are excelling both academically and socially. The teachers and staff are very attentive and have open communication. I feel based on the few bullying incidences I was aware of from my grandchildren, it was dealt with immediately and accurately. Each student experiences school life differently and as long as the student and/or their parent/guardian keep the lines of communication open with the staff, issues are dealt with. I don't feel my grandkids get lost in the shuffle, and they are doing so well and feel supported.

I agree with the former student on their review about this school. I'm also a former student of Culver and I have to say that this school is not a good one based on my own experience. They definitely judge you without even knowing you and yes they either like you or they don't. When I attended this school, there was a lot of bullying going on and no one said or did a thing a about it. I can only remember two teachers (out of the many teachers I had from 3rd- 8th grade) that actually cared about their students . This one teacher put her hands on me in 4th grade, which I will never forget. I was just a kid and too afraid to say anything to anyone since she was the teacher/adult. She would always grab my arm and squeeze it so hard. It was just horrible. My parents always thought everything was fine because the staff made them feel way but anything they ever said or did in front of the parents was just for show. It was completely different behind closed doors. If they don't like your child they won't help your child and they will discriminate. If your don't want your child's life to be affected please don't send them to Culver. I can't remember one good thing about this school.
