While student diversity may be somewhat limited compared to other schools, this is understandable given the characteristics of the neighborhood.

The care and education provided by the teachers are highly structured and systematic. Bilingual support during conferences is also well provided, ensuring a comfortable and smooth communication experience.

All teachers demonstrate strong expertise and professionalism. Compared to nearby school districts, the surrounding environment is safer and more stable. Rather than excluding high-achieving students, the school actively supports and nurtures their growth.

Teachers at Westmoor perform at bare minimal level. Majority of them do not have their own school website. No extra effort, no involvement, no after school activities/clubsÂ…It seems that they are only there for a paycheck. Art and music programs are nice, but anything else is really bare minimum.
The Principal at Westmoor is nowhere to be seen, not involved at all.

No homework policy, which is crazy because majority of parents take their kids to Kumon for extra tutoring after school.

We have some teachers that are not doing there job. They have been there to long and have a pattern to cover there weekness. The principal has to know but his moves with them are not for me to know. Two out of the years my kids have not gained the support that they need. The parents want the children to be happy but one of my children now comes home sad and feeling he is not getting what he needs also. Wait till next year is what some others say but I do not feel that a child should be lossing out in an education.

My son just finished his Kindergarten year at Westmoor. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the school. The three best things about Westmoor: 1. The teachers. 2. The principal. 3. The other students. All the teachers I met this year were so nice and thoughtful. My son's teachers were both fantastic! My wife and I work, so sometimes I was dropping him off. It seemed that everyone I saw not only knew his name, they knew my name and my 2-year-old daughter's as well. The principal is a very special man, and all the students are lucky to have him. I only saw him three times, and the second two times he remembered my name. He also always "dressed" for the occasion! It's amazing to walk into a school and see older children hi-five your child and/or hold his hand. And he made great friends.

Westmoor School has many advantages other schools in the state of Illinois do not have. The school prides itself on its 'traditions.' Many of the teachers went to Westmoor School and grew up in Northbrook. There isn't a lot of staff diversity or perspectives. It's not a receptive school to working parents. PTO meetings are at 9:30 AM so if you work, and don't have a flexible schedule, you'll never be able to attend. Parents who volunteer during the day are favored by the principal & receive the most attention.
