We love SCL! I personally went to public school, and never had intentions of sending my kids to private school. We enrolled my oldest at SCL for kindergarten because we needed a full day option. I had every intention of it being just for a year. However, the growth and experience that he had in just that one year was enough to change my mind. We not only kept him there, but enrolled our other son in their preschool. The staff are wonderful and truly care for the students. Our appreciation for the education and community that is not only provided but actively fostered at SCL has grown tremendously over the last 4 years.

My child attended part time in the 3 and 4 year old preschool classes and was ready do go for Kindergarten knowing letters and numbers. I love that they offer even the youngest students Art, Music, Spanish, and Gym. The teachers are fabulous and it's a great, welcoming community to be a part of. We love SCL!

SCL is a wonderful school. My kids are thriving here. We switched from another school and the positive contrast was welcomed and noted on so many levels. Not only is it strong from an academic and faith perspective, but all students feel seen and heard here. The principal is simply wonderful and a true testament of what quality leadership is. She along with her staff create and uphold a core sense of values that resonate throughout the community. The teachers are seasoned and of high quality. They work as a team so your child will not get lost in the shuffle as it sometimes can happen in larger schools with a lack in close oversight.

A terrific school. I really appreciate the teachers and staff at SCL. They have made learning fun for our daughter and she has grown so much during her time at SCL in her studies and in her knowledge of the Catholic faith. I attended and graduated for SCL when I was growing up. The school was great back then but is even better now. There is a stronger importance placed on academics and it is nice to see the impact that is having on my daughter.

My child transferred to St. Catherine's in junior high. She wasn't being challenged enough at Attea and she wanted to hang out after school. She is now learning how to study and is challenged. They have tests, homework, and test prep. She is really being prepared for high school. The classroom was welcoming. The school community is friendly. She has made really good friends. The students are age appropriate. She is really flourishing academically and socially.

She canÂ’t stop talking about her friends and how they play with them. The Teaching is an AAA+ to me. My Little One learned so quickly from reading, doing Arts, being creative, writing and so much more. I am so thankful for all the teachers and staff of SCL for doing a great job.

SCL is my kids second home ,The school offers excellent academics, faith based education.Scl students are very kind and respectful.we have been going to Scl since 2011 and couldnÂ’t be happier as a parent who tried public schools ,Scl is a unique experience, you canÂ’t find elsewhere.

Posted: October 25, 2020

Our experience at SCL has been amazing! My children have been there since Pre-3 and are now in 4th and 6th grade. SCL's curriculum is challenging, the staff is accommodating and helpful, and our overall experience has been astounding. I would recommend SCL to anyone who values education and feels a need for a school to support the social-emotional needs of their student(s).

Posted: October 25, 2020

The curriculum is challenging and students' test scores prove it. Students are held to a very high standard, and they are taught the habits necessary to achieve at these high levels (and taught habits that will set them up for future success).

Posted: October 25, 2020

SCL teachers care deeply about their student's individual needs, and have always been willing to discuss academic progress.

Posted: October 25, 2020

SCL values teaching the whole child, where values and kindness are paramount. Students are taught to respect each other, their elders, and themselves.

My family has been at St. Catherine for the last 3 years and we are very pleased. The school is VERY organized, friendly and the families at SCL are very welcoming. St. Catherine provides a well rounded education for my children. SCL is a wonderful school that prepares children academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. The school really cares about each student making sure no child is left behind. My children love their teachers and have made wonderful friends at SCL. St. Catherine is a great community to be part of and we are so grateful to be part of this wonderful school/family.

Posted: October 22, 2020

We absolutely love this school. The academics are exceptional, as indicated by the extremely high scores of the students. The faculty are career professionals, and many have over 10, 20, and even 30 years teaching at SCL. More importantly, they care about the students and it shows in how they prepare their lessons, teach their classes, and interact with the kids. Further, the community is diverse and rich in culture. The campus is beautiful, offset from the main road, and has plenty room for the kids. There is a big gym and a huge field for sports. Every class gets religion, music, art, Spanish, and PE in addition to the core subjects. The students go to mass together as a school on WednesdayÂ’s and holy days. There is a STEM program with Project Lead the Way for the older kids and in conjunction with Noggin Builders for the younger kids (PreK3-5th). Above all, the community is kind and welcoming. It is a one in a million find, and we are lucky to be part of it.

Posted: October 22, 2020

There is a lot of homework. It is not busy work and it helps with reinforcing concepts taught, but it can take awhile.

Posted: October 22, 2020

The teachers here are amazing. They go above and beyond to help their students. They truly care about their studentsÂ’ well-being and learning. They effectively reach every student and push each one to their individual potential. It doesnÂ’t matter if you are on the fringes or the average Joe. Everyone is assessed and taught to their level.

Posted: October 22, 2020

The community is the best part of SCL. Everyone is kind and welcoming. The kids are taught to be “bucket fillers”, to help one another, and to emulate Christ.

Posted: October 22, 2020

Mrs. Reuter is a great principal. She is friendly, approachable, and dedicated. She works hard to make sure all students get what they deserve.

Posted: October 22, 2020

There are many opportunities available for additional help. There are also parent volunteers that come in several times a week to take students or groups of students one on one for extra practice and study.

Posted: October 22, 2020

We have had very few issues with bullying at SCL. The problem was appropriately handled before it escalated.

Posted: October 22, 2020

We recently moved to the area and SCL was one of several Catholic schools that we visited. We choose SCL due to the strong sense of community, family-like atmosphere, and the practice of Catholic values. We started in pre-K and K-5. The entire school attends mass every Wednesday which was important to us. Class sizes are usually small which means good kid-teacher ratio. The teachers take the time to know the kids and how to work with everyone's strengths. The kids are academically challenged but not to the point where it feels overly burdensome - just right it seems. After 3 years, the kids love this school and it has become home. We are very grateful to have found this gem in Glenview and could not imagine sending our kids anywhere else.

They prepare our children in all areas of their scholastic experience to succeed.

Posted: October 22, 2020

It shows in the actions of our children how amazing these teachers are .
Good teachers enhance their students and it shows at this school.

Posted: October 22, 2020

The area high school teachers have told us over and over again.
You can tell which students have come from St Catherine's.
The students are more prepared and ready for high school. Ask the area high schools.

I have 2 children that attend the school and started in the pre 3K program. The teachers are outstanding! My children have thrived in the school. The teachers have been teaching for many, many years (think 20+, ) so there is no high turn around of teachers and staff. They are committed to academic excellence while teaching values and morals. They have a great STEAM program and the test scores beat those in surrounding schools. The teacher to students is ratio is excellent. The small class sizes benefit the students and allows them to excel in standardized test scores. Academics aside, the community is amazing. The families know each other and want to help each other. You will meet friends for life! Couldn't ask for a better school for my children.

We are back for our second year and have been so happy we found this school. We sought out SCL because they offered full-day kindergarten, but registered because of the small class size, academics and friendly community. The teachers are very caring and seem to love being at SCL, which is very important to us. We've gotten involved through volunteering as room parent, parent club, Girl Scouts, and various clubs- so much is offered! We are thrilled to have found SCL.

Following Catholic based teachings instill in the children honesty, integrity and fairness that are seen through the academic, athletic and social opportunities they encounter during their time at the school.

Posted: August 24, 2015

A Great School in every meaning of the words. Small class sizes enable teachers to truly understand what makes each student reach their full potential. The Catholic based education leads to positive children in the community who understand how to make a difference in those around them. Seeing 8th graders lending a helpful hand to PK children is something that just happens naturally at this school, giving a great family feel.

St. Catherine Laboure is the perfect school for combining academics, a Catholic education, athletics, and a great social environment. We have 2 daughters that go to school there, and the new administration has made significant progress in a short period of time. There are some new teachers, a new library and a new PC lab for all students, and all of these have given the school a great lift this year.

Posted: August 15, 2014

I have 3 children studying at SCL and I must say I have made the best decision for my children. I don't have to look into my children's work. The teachers are extremely dedicated and give all the attention needed. My children have become independent learners with the help of the caring , loving staff here at SCL. Apart from academics students also have opportunities to excel in sports, music, dramatics etc. Every child is cared for in a truly caring environment. I must say St. Catherine's provides a faith based education by educating the child as a whole - an education that nourishes the mind, body and soul of the individual.

I have 2 kids in this school and we are entering our 4th year at SCL. Academically, starting in the 3 year old preschool, the curriculum is truly advanced, especially in mathematics. A very dedicated staff and warm, friendly families. Love the small classroom sizes, and the character building at this school. My daughter's presentation skills and confidence level have been boosted because of the faculty here. If you are looking for a special place to send your kids, you should definitely visit St Catherine Laboure!

Looking for a great Catholic Education in a supportive community? St. Catherine Laboure of Glenview is the place you want to send you kids. We moved to Glenview for the public schools, however when I started looking at the cost of before and after school care I was amazed that the cost of a private Catholic Education was very close to the money I would spend on before and after care. We have two kids enrolled at SCL and they love going to school and have many opportunities to be leaders in the class room and within the school community. Another great benefit is the same start and end time of school for PK to 8th grade. No need to juggle different times. Is your child interested in sports ? Every student that wants to play has the opportunity to play regardless of their skill level. I can't forget to mention the great education your child will receive and how the teachers will prepare them for high school. We love the school and look forward to seeing our kids graduating from SCL.

We love SCL for our daughter. She has found many opportunities to shine and gain confidence. The music program coupled with the school band has really let her become a more confident student.

There are some very dedicated teachers at St. Catherine Laboure. In recent years, it does not seem that they are getting the support they deserve. Any prospective families should ask why the school is looking for a 3rd principal in three years.
