Fantastic school for children to learn with an emphasis on our Christian faith. As a new family entering in Fall 2025, we found the school and staff to be very welcoming and everyone is encouraged to participate in all the school activities. The Academics are challenging for our 5th grader, 3rd grader, and PreK children. The teachers are very attentive and truly care about the children. They sincerely live out their Christian faith by praying for our children and the school. I would strongly encourage anyone looking for Christian based education to consider CHA.

I am very thankful for the opportunity my children had to attend and graduate from CHA! Its an amazing school, promoting academic excellence along with character development. Everyone on staff, from the teachers to the administrative personnel, is committed to providing an excellent education experience. They partner WITH families, praying together before and after each parent/teacher meeting. The heart of each child is first and foremost priority. My children were well equipped after graduation to enter college and succeed. My 2020 graduate went on to earn a 4-year undergraduate degree Summa Cum Laude and is now pursuing a graduate degree. My youngest is now in the second year of a very competitive industrial design program at the University of Houston. We highly recommend CHA for any family looking for a positive and rigorous education environment!

The jump from preschool to kindergarten here is extreme and suddenly normal 5-year-old behavior is treated like failure. Daily emails shame kids who dont fit their rigid mold instead of supporting them.

As a student, this school leaves much to be desired. The teaching and learning are not the best. There is no help for autistic people. There is no emotional support, even though there are many depressed people. It is not very safe and families are not included in their children's learning.

My children have been attending the elementary school and I have been teaching in middle and high school at Christian Heritage Academy (CHA) for 5 years. No school is perfect, but I would have no other institution educating my children.
-The most important thing is the most important thing: the administration and faculty love Jesus, love my children, and teach my children to love Jesus.
-CHA meets the needs of diverse learners. It provides the academic rigor I personally desire for my children. My colleagues and I also work hard to provide accommodations and support for students who need it through individual service plans, social work/counseling, and learning resource classes.
-The community at CHA is like family. The school is covered in prayer by the faculty and parents. I truly love partnering with my students' parents. My children have made wonderful friends. The all school family gatherings are a blast!
I could say so much more, but I hope I've said enough for you to check out a CHA virtual open house or in person preview!

Our kids have been attending CHA since 7th grade, and they are now in their sophomore year of high school. Making the decision to pull them from CPS and enroll them at CHA is one of the best decisions my husband and I have made as parents. They are thriving in their education, maturing as young Christians, developing critical thinking skills to prepare them for college and beyond, and forming healthy, diverse relationships with other kids. The teachers not only challenge the students in their learning and skill development but also root everything in a Christian worldview. As parents, we have fewer and fewer opportunities to impart wisdom, Christian values, and ethics, so selecting the right school is absolutely foundational. I would take on a side job, if needed, to ensure my kids could attend CHA.

We chose CHA because we knew it would be a place in which our kids were known and lovedand challenged (in a good way) because they were known and loved. We could see that from our first visit to campus, and, after four years at the school, we still bear witness to that in our kids' lives. My kids have grown in their prayer lives, in their ability to articulate questions and answers, and in their ability to build and navigate real and lasting friendships. And now I see my high schoolers thriving as leaders. When I'm old and my kids are out of the house, I don't think I will ever regret surrounding them with incredible, Christ-loving people in their formative years.

I graduated from CHA years ago and I am now a public school teacher, so this review comes from experience as a student and as an educator. There is no finer school with finer teachers and administration I have yet to find. Every dollar spent here is well worth it. Put your kids in this school if you want your kids to have the best private Christian/Protestant education because there is no better school in the region.

Christian Heritage Academy is a Christ-centered school where teachers model loving care as well as firm God honoring behavior. I am so thankful for all of my daughters teachers especially their Bible teachers. CHAs Bible teachers have not only instilled in them a love of Gods word but also through prayer, worship, and instruction helped both my daughters navigate the sometimes stormy seas of adolescence. I cannot thank CHAs teachers enough for their extra time and sweet effort into helping my daughters grow into the lovely young ladies they are today.

Christian Heritage Academy is a Christ-centered school that provides an exemplary education. We moved our two children to CHA from public schools in grades 4 and 5, and our only regret is that we did not do it sooner. Our children thrived at CHA academically, socially, and spiritually. I highly recommend Christian Heritage Academy!

At CHA, homework is never busy work but rather a worthwhile extension of academic material.
Posted: July 10, 2020
The teachers at CHA are diligent in their efforts to ensure each student is successful. In addition, they create a safe environment where children feel the freedom to try new things without fear of failure. This is especially helpful as students participate in STEM based activities.

My family felt at home at CHA. They were well-loved and the learning exceeded that of the public school. As they entered into HS they were ready for the academics. However, I do wish they had continued their education at CHA for their HS years. Public HS in our area may be academically excellent but unless you have a student that will actively seek out godly friends and groups, they get lost in the culture very easily. They are still very impressionable. Both my students chose private Christian colleges to attend after recognizing the benefits of being in a Christian community.

The leadership does not care one bit about the health of the staff. Forced to stay extra hours, come in on weekends, come in early with a days notice and no extra pay. You also cant comment or dare to complain about being mistreated because then you will be fired. If you confide is a fellow teacher about anything you are labeled a gossiper.

No special education or diverse learner services.

No real consequences for students with repeated bad behavior.

From the outside all appears fine and dandy. Teachers are happy, students are learning, God is a focus....while God is the focus students are definitely not getting a comparable education to surrounding schools and most teachers are NOT happy. They tolerate it because it is a job but so many are unhappy with the way they are treated, the legalistic policies, and one man putting his own wants and needs for his daughter above what the community needs.

We love CHA! Our daughter has attended for nine years and has had outstanding experiences each year. The teachers, admin and staff genuinely care about each student and provide a warm, loving atmosphere for growth. Academics are strong, as reflected in test scores and Upper School AP courses and college dual credit courses. CHA partners with parents and churches to raise up leaders with a biblical worldview. If you are looking for a top-notch Christian education, this is the school for you!

We have an 8th grader and a Sophomore at CHA. We love CHA because it partners with us to train our children up to be lifetime followers of Jesus Christ. They will receive an amazing education in the process. I'm confident that my son will be able to attend college wherever he chooses, but most importantly he will gain eternal life. My daughter too.

CHA is a very academically strong school, therefore they tend to give too much homework in my opinion. HOWEVER, they are willing to adjust for each child's abilities/needs if you talk to them.
Posted: July 19, 2018
The teachers are very caring and genuinely want to help the child succeed. They are all skilled in their fields and very knowledgeable.
Posted: July 19, 2018
The model is Jesus Christ. He is who we all look to develop the fruit of the spirit and He is who also gives grace. CHA teaches this more than any school we have been to. We have moved several times. Our children have been to six different schools and CHA is building the strongest character in them bc it's Christ based.
Posted: July 19, 2018
The administrative staff is cohesive, forward thinking, positive, respectful, and forgiving.
Posted: July 19, 2018
CHA is a grade level a head. It is academically challenging.

Because it is a Christian school, teaching the love of Christ is taught to all students. The one being bullied and the one doing the bullying are shepherd in a loving way.

Academics are excellent, with amazing teachers who inspire students to think critically. Loving, Christ-centered community that is steeped in prayer and teaches kids what a real relationship with God looks like. High school is full of amazing students, and the smaller size has allowed my student to take on leadership roles and shine. Great clubs and strong athletics, too. I have one in high school, middle school and elementary, and I am so pleased.

if you compare this school with the public school you will see a lot of differences to good for your children. Teachers are really good helping children to stablish relationship with God and serving others. Is a safe place where children can develop their skills and talents, where they can learn compassion and service. Academically is very good also.

The teachers and community at CHA really do care about my child in so many levels; academically and spiritually. It's been a warm environment to go into.

I had so looked forward to my daughter attending CHA -- she did well at a different Christian academy for her first four years of school but we moved her in part because ONLY 3 out of 4 of her classroom teachers had been excellent and we wanted her to have a great teacher each and every year. Well, unfortunately, while the CHA community was supportive and the extra-curricular teachers quite good, we found our daughter's elementary classroom teacher disappointing two years in a row. From all the great reviews of CHA, I suppose in past years it was different, but our experience was, the kids were often loud and unruly in the main classroom and the teacher ineffectual in maintaining a good learning environment. Strangely, school administration seemed more concerned with our constructive criticism and expectations of change than the problem itself. Our daughter was not challenged, and was in fact bothered that on occasion things were oversimplified to the point of inaccuracy. I do hope the school can correct its problems for the good of all its students but I doubt we'll wait around; another girl in my daughter's class left just a week or two ago.

CHA is an amazing school and is the best school you can go to! With a Christ centered education, that makes you become a lifetime follower of Jesus Christ. The teachers at CHA are absolutely the best you will ever find. They are all caring, kind, and amazing teachers. They give you one to one learning attention and they are here to mentor you as well. If you seem like you are not understanding something they are always here to help and if you excel in something they push you to do your best. CHA is like one big family because we are all close to each other and it feels so amazing to be known and for everyone to love you. You will be able to do amazing thing here that you can't do at a public school and find out things that you never thought you could do. CHA pushes you to your full potential and is with you every step of the way. This is an amazing school and I could not even imagine going anywhere else.

This school is wonderful! We have been here since my son was in preschool and now he is in 6th grade. (I also work here.) I love the sense of community among the parents and the faculty are very loving yet firm in their teaching. My son and 2 daughters have received such affirmation from being in such a caring environment. I would recommend this school to anyone who is looking for a Christian school that walks in the truth of Scripture and teaches the students to do so as well.

Christian Heritage Academy-Chicago was the best decision I made for our daughter. They offer an amazing curriculum for the students, stellar teachers, and best of all, a grace-filled discipleship ministry. I have also had the honor of joining a community of some of the most amazing parents. Parents, staff, and students all work together in one spirit to glorify God in everything they do.

A grace-filled community where the secular and the sacred are connected. Students are challenged academically, grow in knowledge and understanding of Christ, learn the joy of service, and get to explore their God-given gifts.
Posted: July 21, 2013
A joyful, redemptive community. The teachers, staff, and leadership are all committed to the ministry of Christian Education, partnering with parents, and nurturing, guiding, and growing the students.

CHA is a school staffed by caring educators who understand that students need to be grounded in wisdom and able to succeed in a world of great information and knowledge (but low on wisdom). My own sons have benefited tremendously.

CHA is a community of believers that want not only the best education for our children but work very hard to provide them with a firm foundation in Jesus Christ. My children LOVE all of their teachers and have never one day in 8 years not wanted to go to school. That is amazing and such a gift to our family.
Posted: July 18, 2013
CHA is an amazing place to be as a family. The love that teachers typically have for students goes beyond to the entire family. Walking through the halls of CHA you can quickly notice that the kids at CHA are very different than other schools. This is a result of the love and teaching they receive.

Working at CHA is like being part of a fabulous church community. We truly do life together - teachers, administrators, students and parents share life stories, obstacles and milestones in our unique environment. I am truly thankful to have a workplace where I feel genuinely loved.

As a current parent of CHA Chicago campus (2 years, and enrolled for a 3rd w/ a 2nd child coming in 1 year), we are amazed at the way kids respond to the teaching staff. Parent involvement is outstanding and we look forward to being part of everything CHA does. Cultivating a child's faith is just as important as teaching them their ABC's and 123's. But CHA does not skimp on learning and curriculum...a fully accredited school with outstanding teaching. A++!!!
Posted: July 17, 2013
Christian Heritage Academy is an outstanding school where Christ's love clearly shines through every teacher, student, and parent. We are truly blessed to be a part of the CHA family.

The learning environment at CHA is unparalleled to any school I've visited. Teachers foster a love of learning, recognize and celebrate different learning styles, and incorporate faith and learning in a very natural way. Over 100 churches are represented at this school, so it is quite diverse vs. denominational. Class sizes are small, the teachers are heavily invested in the academic, spiritual, and emotional well-being of each child. The ethnic, geographic, and socio-economic variance reflects a healthy diversity for a school located in this community. Families travel to CHA from a 20-mile radius -- and it's because it is extraordinar in both academic excellence and equipping children to be lifetime followers of Jesus Christ.

Scale = 1 (poor) to 5 (very good) Teachers = 5. Great teaching skills and living examples of Christian values. Facilities = 4. Facilities are quite good for a private school. Students = 4. Little behavior issues that are common in public schools due to how teachers handle discipline and promote acceptable behavior. Rigor of Education = 3. CHA does not have a rigorous program, at least not up to Grade 2. The learning happens at a relatively easy pace. This is not to say students do not learn much, rather compared to other schools, they (especially the bright ones) are not challenged as much. Financial Management = 1. In my opinion, the board has not been transparent on the school s financial state. Despite assurances that budget projections were conservative, in the past two years, I received emails asking for donations to cover significant (six-digit sums) revenue shortfall. There is also a gym construction project that has been at a standstill since 2010. Tuition fees have gone up the past 4 years and I have not seen a plan to stabilize this trend. I have asked for financial statements, but got no reply, as such I questions on the school s long term financial health.

My daughter goes to this school, and loves it. She actually looks forward in going to school, and seeing and talking to her teachers, and she they listen, and are there for me anytime. and her friends are amazing group of kids...who encourage each other, and are Not fake. My daughter feels safe and so do I. She has developed a lot of character very nicely in this school, and loves the fact of helping others in need in our community or around the world as well...you will not go wronge in sending your child here.
