This wonderful and true community is long-established, deeply enriched, and dedicated with excellence to high-fidelity implementation of Dr. Maria Montessori's pedagogy.
I had the honor of being welcomed to student teach here in 2022, and was delighted by its support of extraordinary, beautiful, and rigorous natural education. I had also been welcomed to observe one of its primary classrooms in 2010.

From highly advanced to learning challenged (autistic, ADHD as examples) the independent learning approach to ALL students is basic among Montessori programs. There are many opportunities to address and enhance those who have learning styles outside of national averages.

I have no direct experience with bullying and my children (2 attend), so I assume the school addresses in a respectful manner - mostly because I am not naive enough to think the situations are not out there.

I am trilled to be a parent of two students at Countryside Montessori. We attended with early intentions to transition to public schooling after kindergarten. When the time came we couldn't leave. My daughter in particular had made amazing strides in her learning with this style. The school proved it's value, and we are happy to have our younger son show his own growth (in different ways) with the same program. The benefits have surpassed academic expectations, and have developed both my children to being responsible partners in both school and sport communities, as well as made them strong contributors to our family unit (elementary daughter prepares dinner once a week, kindergarten son sets table nightly and helps with folding laundry and putting it away - his and his sisters!!!). We are over-joyed to credit Countryside with profound development of our children!

The students day allows for children to manage their workload AT school. There are some occasions when reading (book group commitments) and/or math (via online application) are assigned to be completed at home. For the most part work is completed, by the student, at school.

Teachers guide the children to explore their interests deeper. There is no personal agenda of the school, or teacher. Students show interest in topics taught, and they are encouraged to explore more, as their personal drive directs.

Teachers and faculty are strongly rooted in the school 's creed of developing Respect, Resourcefulness, and Responsibility in the student body. One great way this is achieved is by giving older, responsible children the opportunity to lead. Their student mentor (and tutoring) programs are top-notch.

This school is not for everyone. It's for parents that believe character is just as important as academics for their children. It's for parents that embrace the Montessori philosophy not only in school but at home. Our kids enjoy learning here; learning Respect, Responsibility and Resourcefulness. Countryside is now Pre-K thru 8th grade.

This school is nothing short of amazing! They focus on manners, critical thinking and working well with others over memorizing facts. My daughter has gone here since she was 9 months old and she has always been very advanced for her age (which I almost fully attribute to this school). She's very well spoken and polite. She enjoys helping to clean up (something she was taught at school). And, she's very good at helping younger children (part of the model for their students). This school is a model for other Montessori schools across the country. It's not inexpensive, but I can't imagine a higher quality of education for a child.
