Glenview Montessori School

This school is very rule oriented and not at all inclusive of children that develop at a different pace. If a child does not fit into their mold or has any learning or social challenges, they are not good at communicating that to the parents or working to accommodate the child's needs. Even when the child makes progress, it's never enough. They constantly compared my child to others and made him feel lesser. High turnover with teachers the last year and extremely toxic director and teachers. The Montessori way is supposed to be to allow children to lead what they want to do, but this is not the case at all. The schedule is very strict and children are expected to basically be perfect or they will be forced out. I do not recommend sending your child here unless you are among the elite with perfect children who listen at all times and never have a bad day.

Glenview Montessori school is amazing. they focus on manner critical thinking and working well with others. My son has been going to Glenview Montessori since he was 2 years old and he has been improved a lot for his age. he is very behaved and polite. he enjoys helping other kids in class as well as at home. My son enjoy learning here, learning respect and responsibility.

Our daughter has attended Glenview Montessori since age two and is now in their kindergarten class. she has excelled in reading and math at levels way beyond her grade. We are so grateful to the teachers that have and continue to guide her to be an independent student. They show such genuine concern and caring in her schoolwork and well being. she loves going to her school and continues to do work at home just because it's fun and she is proud of her accomplishments. This is our second child that went through this Montessori school program. Our son continued up until middle school at Riverwoods and is now a high school honors student. We have a long history of enrollment here and highly recommend Glenview Montessori as well as Riverwoods and Deerfield locations.

We have had 2 children in the Deerfield Montessori schools for the past 11 yrs (infancy-elementary) at all locations, Deerfield, Riverwoods and now Glenview. We are extremely satisfied with the quality education they offer. The teachers and staff are caring and provide a wonderful community for children. Our son has moved on to high school being placed in all honors classes and we attribute most of this accomplishment to the years of schooling here. He is very fond of this school and feels he wouldn't have been the same without it. Our daughter attends Glenview Montessori. She loves her school and all of her teachers. It is a very nurturing environment and honestly it's hard to pick her up at end of day because she doesn't want to leave! The teachers do a great job at introducing the school work and guiding the children through a variety of projects while making learning fun and allowing them to work independently. Our 5 yr old is already doing various math problems and writing! We see the results of their methods manifest itself in the way she continues to create projects on her own at home. If considering a Montessori education, this school is definitely one to consider.

Both of my children have attended this school for the past year. The teachers are wonderful, and the school has a real interest in the families and children. They worked with our single income family and our children have learned so much! My son was potty trained very quickly thanks to the patience and persistence of his teachers and Im forever grateful. My four year old amazed me! She was doing multiplication and loving it! If you are looking for more than just a school but a community Glenview Montessori is a wonderful start for your children's education.

We sent our son to Glenview after hearing good recommendations from some friends. We recently moved into the area and the families of Glenview Montessori are friendly and dedicated. I agree with the other the 2 reviews however, there definitely is a lack of communication between the admin, parents and teachers. The staff does a good job educating the students in the Montessori way and come with a number of years of experience. However, when our child was hurt on the playground and was sent home with a bloody nose and no phone call we decided to remove him from the school. The teacher, nor the administration could tell us what happened exactly and why we did not receive a phone call. Our concerns when brought up to the teacher about possible bullying on the playground were dismissed. We were saddened to leave Glenview and miss the families there but no longer had faith in the teachers or administration.
