Early Discoveries - Abbott Child Care Center - Ap40

Early Discoveries is hands-down the BEST early childhood program I've ever seen and we've been to and toured centers in 4 different states (Washington, Nebraska, Michigan, and Illinois). I think it's technically a daycare but it feels more like a school that understands play IS learning. They have such amazing staff, teachers, and leadership and they really understand the latest data in childhood development and learning. My child has been a very special case for them. She's transgender, and was very recently diagnosed with ADHD and ASD. Because of her sensory issues we frequently receive calls and incident reports regarding her behavior, but not once was there any discussion of removing her from the school. The teachers and staff worked with us to implement new equipment and routines to minimize my daughters sensory needs. Early Discoveries has worked with us to learn more about transgender kids as well and adapt their policies and training practices to be even more inclusive and respectful of ALL children. When I started looking for a new job recently, my first priority was to stay within the Abbott/AbbVie companies to keep my kiddo at Early Discoveries (They're also just great places to work). That has worked out and she will be staying until kindergarten. Thank goodness! We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the teachers and staff. They're truly exceptional!!!

I highly recommend! Our little one has been going here since 4 months of age. If you work onsite and are a breastfeeding momma, you can drop in and feed your little one if you choose to. We love all the staff and many of them have been here for years! The facilities are fantastic (each room has their own "age group" playground, some are shared but it is all based on ages) and the rooms are spacious compared to many daycares in other suburbs and the city. The foundation for education for the children is on par with many expensive private schools in the city. We have conferences to check in and see how milestones are being met and ways to encourage learning. They also have a library, science rooms, art days, and they frequently bring in other educators to teach programs like dance. Hands down I can not say enough great things and I am so grateful that our little one can have such a great experience. So many of her friends are sad to leave for the day, which is a good sign. It's a great place to be!

My daughter has been going to this school since she was 4 months old and she is a toddler now. I love the interactions with the teacher and the staff. Ther center tought is only for employees is great for kids as its big with all facilities available. Definitely recommend it to anybody interested.
