This school is not good in my opinion the staff is overbearing and are always on your case, the classrooms stink. The administrative staff members are unfair with punishments, they refuse to provide you with evidence that they say they have when you are in trouble, and they break student rights A LOT. DONT RECOMMEND

This school is pretty great. The kids can be rude sometimes. My math teacher doesn't really help me fully understand what we are currently learning, but he is still a good teacher. My science/social studies teacher is rigorous. I do feel very stressed by her a lot, and I feel like she doesn't care that much about my learning. She punished my entire class by putting us by people we didn't want to sit by. When I get in trouble with that person she doesn't seem to care, I feel like she should talk to us. But, other than that it is a great school.

As a student I feel unsafe at this school. I am told to do bad things to myself by other students and they are discriminating me for my gender and sexuality. I have told everyone I could such as the counselor and the assistant principal yet they do nothing. This year I have even had other students threaten me and I feel unsafe because nothing is getting done. The counselor lied when my dad went in to talk about this. If your child is LGBTQIA+ do not send them to this school. Despite this although there are still a few nice teachers.

I rate this school a 4.5 out of 5. The only reason I deduct half a point is for the absolutely "ridiculous" parking situation for parents who walk up to the front doors to pick up their children. We have to park on the street and walk up instead of bring able to park in the parking lot because the school staff decided to block off the parking making it one way and making you have to get into the pick up line with no one is going to let you in and why should you have to wait longer when you've already picked up your child. Plus if your handicapped and have to walk from the street that's just thoughtless on the staffs part. Otherwise the teachers/staff are dedicated, caring, encouraging & just phenomenal!

My child started in the PreK class and the teacher is phenomenal. Now in the special needs class and the teacher is great as well. Very effective teaching methods. My child has learned and developed so much in the years he has been attending Parkwood Elementary.

Pirate PRIDE is what this elementary school stands for definitely and they really seem to put a lot if emphasis on those core values.

The teachers leadership I would say is outstanding. The previous principal was really friendly and seemed to caring to students and parents. The new principal and assistant principal do not seem to have that attitude towards parents though.

My child is in the special needs class and I truly feel he gets the tools he needs from his teacher and her para teachers to be successful academically. He has learned and developed so much in the years he has been there.

Teachers are unfortunately underpaid for their work ethic and push for academic achievement. It is also equally unfortunate that many put the full blame on educators for low exam scores and failing students. The school board is disorganized with what needs to be met and the lack of time teachers are given to successfully teach sudden new learning material. Often, common core subjects are given standards that are to be met throughout the year. (Subject focuses shift between the 4 quarters.) However, there have been many "surprises" given throughout the year that was supposed to be taught a quarter or multiple quarters ago that for some reason shatters the teaching plan for those 9 weeks. The stress given for teachers to plan this out while having an unforgiving deadline makes whatever the new material is ineffective. The schedule for ILEARN (Formely ISTEP.), the standardized test is also unorganized and loose. Kids are simply unmotivated to take upon themselves to study because it is seen as socially unattractive. The oppression against learning is absolutely flabbergasting as it what the school purpose is to be. There is also the parent factor where many low performing students generally don't have parental support. Ultimately, it is really the child's decisions that leads up to whether they fail, pass, or exceed expectations.

They took down my last response so I'll just say this again. This school could be fixed easily but the teachers and office workers refuse to accept constructive criticism even when given examples and told in a professional manner.

Genuine concern for every child's academic success. Classes are smaller and the teachers are very dedicated. I am very grateful to have enrolled my children into such a great school.

This is my first year at Parkview and I do feel welcomed and unlike my last school there is minimal violence and bullying has not been a problem for me so far, but some teachers should realize that some students may have issues and may not always be in the best mood and although the counselor and student resource officer do an amazing job thinking of ideas to help some teachers continue to punish people doing stuff that is approved instead of people breaking the rules and not paying attention. Overall I have to give the school credit for a lot of things but some things do need to change.

Parkview is a very great school. Just the hallways are a little ghetto and crazy sometimes but otherwise its great. And The Lunch Room is VERY loud sometimes.
