From the little time we've been here, it does seem like the teacher my daughter has cares. I've talked to the principal a couple times and she seems like she wants to help. I do feel like they could do more for this school but it's the district in whole. I wouldn't put a low score for this school because even the Middle School my son goes to puts in this effort. I think they need more support. It seems like it lacks community so they have to work with what they have. I do have to say I'm not from this area.... so I might be used to something different. At our old schools when I dropped my kids off in the morning staff or teachers and the principal would be there. Greeting them as they walk in. Making sure the buses are able to pull in okay. Making sure that people aren't being irate, kids aren't getting run over. Their day didn't start when the bell rung, it started as soon as the first student stepped onto their campus. But it seems like they have a pretty normal school here compared to others.

My 5th grader has no homework at all which isn't preparing him at all for middle school. My 1st grader has over an hour of homework every night.

Most of the teachers hate their jobs which makes the kids hate going. I sat in on a 5th grade class. The kids were cursing, fighting, and on their cell phones. The teacher just stood there. No respect.

After the new principal and especially the new office staff, it's gone downhill.

Overall, I'm extremely disappointed. Before the new principal and office staff, I would have given it a solid 4/5. Now, it's a 3/5 and that's being generous. Don't get me started on the office staff who "lose" my kid's lunch money, don't give my kids notes when I call for something, and are extremely rude to parents. Not to mention, they will mark your kid as unexcused even with doctor notes. I love how secretary Carmen rolls her eyes when parents walk in the door. Don't expect to be treated well here.

We absolutely love and miss this school. My daughter had went there from k~2 grade but we moved or she would be still. The teachers and principal are so great. As soon as you walk in to the school they will treat you like your welcomed. They are willing to work with your child one ob one if they need it. The holidays there are so much fun the kids really enjoy it. This school differently deserves a 5 star even higher rating.
