I do not recommend this school. My son has been to many different schools across the country with my husband being in the Army. This is the worst we have come across. First this year he has been disrupted almost daily with a girl screaming in the pod. Secondly. The PE program is awful. My son has loved PE at every school we have been to. This one he says the PE teacher doesnt do anything. If they learn something new then its for 2 days. Its always free days which is basically the kids running around and screaming. He said the PE teacher is on his phone constantly or talking with other adults and not paying attention to students. He now hates PE and we are considering a transferring to another school.

I have multiple children that have been at Spring Valley the last couple of years, and we are so grateful to have found a school that teaches academics and life skills to the littles. The staff went through a major transition when their long-time principal retired a couple of years ago, but the leadership and administration made that transition seamless. I am always greeted with smiling faces, and the teachers my kids have had really bonded with them. As a parent that has moved around a bit, we plan on staying in the area because of this school district and this school.

My family has had a wonderful experience with Spring Valley Elementary. The secretaries are always helpful, and my childrens teachers have been outstanding. Mrs. Allen, the principal, truly goes above and beyond for her students. We feel very fortunate to be part of this school community.

This school is top notch! We have been here for almost 5 years and I couldnt ask for better teachers and support staff. They have gone above and beyond to help my children feel welcomed and grow in their academics. I have even had staff come to my childrens theater performances outside of school to show their support. We are a military family who has lived in many different states, but Spring Valley Elementary has been by far our favorite school!

We loved here about a month ago in March and we came from a small town and community. This school is nice but teachers seemed pretty rude.
Once I drop off my child to school in the mornings there's a man outside who does all the traffic at first he used to let us go in and now he makes people go around for traffic it's ridiculous? He's a tall guy with glasses wears hats all the time. He's pretty rude. The beginning he was nice no idea what happened.
But my child hasn't experienced nothing bad at this school at all! He made new friends and he likes it. Overall they do teach the kiddos. I do appreciate it that! But these teachers need to show some greetings to parents. And they need to change up the parking as well it's so many traffic during the time the kids get out from school. There's parents that won't let you in and out, it's too crowded. My son has not experienced no bullied there he has been here for 2 months.

Spring Valley Elementary is an amazing school with staff/teachers/administrators that support the learning & development of all students. I drop my child off everyday fully trusting that they are safe, nurtured & all of their needs are going to be met educationally, as well as on an individual basis.

My son was at Spring Valley from 2nd grade to 5th and because of the staff at this school he brought home his first straight A report card half way through his moddle school year. He struggled for so long and as a parent that is hard to watch. We never got the help he needed until we arrived at Spring Valley Elementary. With the foundation Spring Valley has given him I know he will shine for many years to come. To the teachers, para educators and principal that helped him get back on track and really saw and accepted him.....Ms. Day, Mrs. Allen, Mrs. Deines, Mrs. Cox, Mrs. Howard and Mrs. Jackson.....Thank You!

Overall, my children have enjoyed their time at Spring Valley Elementary. We have had good years and bad years, this year has been the best since 2015. My children have amazing teachers who really care about them.

Most teachers my children have had have done their best. Although it seems like teachers arent allowed by the school district and all the red tape, to be TRULY effective.
Posted: February 2, 2020
I believe the school staff does try to instill these values in the students, but to be completely honest these kids are allowed to get away with very troubling behaviors. Many students do not respect teachers, students, and other staff and get away with it. Again, I do not think it is the schools fault. Staffs hands seem to be tied, other than rewarding children with behavior issues If they have a good day. But what does this show children who dont accost their teachers and peers...?

If your student is on the opposite end of that spectrum- not so much.

Mrs. Jackson cares deeply for everyone of her staff and students! She is Compassionate, direct, fair and honest.
Mrs. Jackson actually listens to others (Parents and Teachers) ideas and implements those ideas if they work better then the current plan. Its not Her way or the Highway!

I have three kids that have gone to this school for most of their schooling (oldest is in 4th grade) and have been amazed at how Mrs. Jackson runs the school with confidence and truly cares about her students and staff. I have always had great interactions with my daughters teachers and the staff. They offer many resources to assist military families as well as families going through rough situations at home and make it a point to provide a caring place to learn and succeed.
Posted: December 5, 2019
Barely any take home work assigned because they are given ample time in the class room to finish their work.
Posted: December 5, 2019
The teachers take their time to learn their students and how to effectively create a great learning environment for them.
Posted: December 5, 2019
This school has a great program of teaching life skills and how we can use them everyday and at the end of each semester every child receives an award for the life skill that they displayed.
Posted: December 5, 2019
Mrs. Jackson is amazing with how she learns her students and truly cares about each and every one of them. She can greet all students and teachers at the school by name!
Posted: December 5, 2019
This school offers different levels of programs to accommodate all of their students and even supports students in the district.
Posted: December 5, 2019
This school has a bullying program it displays and incorporates into the learning and skills taught and have a zero tolerance for bullying. If their is an issue they are good about investigating the incident and resolving it to the best of their ability.

I love SVE! Mrs. Jackson is an amazing principal who genuinely cares for each student and her staff. The teachers and support staff are wonderful, too. My oldest attended 4 different elementary schools and I wish each of them had been at least half as good as SVE. My son is so blessed to have started and spent his first 3 years here. I even opted to stay at least one more year because it has been such an amazing experience for us.

This school has a zero bullying policy, my girls have been at this school 5 years and have not had an issue
Posted: December 4, 2019
I enrolled my son after moving here for his Kindergarten year. He has so far, had issues with a bully, as have several other students, yet nothing has been done. We are considered "low income" for the area- and there is definite nepotism between him and students who can afford everything the school offers (which is more than my older children ever had at their school)
Calling the office results in short, rude replies and while I understand it is an exceptionally busy place, there never seems to be a smile to be had.
I've personally volunteered my time and resources to help out because the school "provides" what my low-income child may lack, but along with other parents have observed obvious favoritism among the students.
I do not expect my son to be treated special but at his initial conference, he was given high praise on manners and school work. He has gone from an excited child to a dull shell.
My son's teacher shows great potential and has always seemed to be kind to my son, but when a 6-year-old is afraid of school at such a young age and feels "not apart of it" (his words) it saddens me as a parent. I worry about negative consequences coming back on him if I speak up or file a complaint. I'm hoping to finish up the year and transfer him to another school.
I can not even get ahold of anyone to discuss the issue with, calls not returned, messages left and emails unanswered. My son is 6 and was beyond excited to go to school, now he begs me to stay home. It is heartbreaking that he doesn't even feel he has one person to turn to at Spring Valley.

Spring Valley is such a positive and caring place. The students and staff all meet in the gym each morning and they call it the family welcome. They have a booster club for parents to be involved in and invite parents to awards assemblies every quarter. I have seen their student council out in the community volunteering as bell ringers for the Salvation Army. The teachers work with students to help them improve and they teach them to work together and solve problems. Everyone at Spring Valley cares about the kids and wants to help them succeed!

This school is below average. We are in the military and have seen many schools over the years and this is the worst by far. The classes are over crowded and the teachers do not even understand the common core standards. I would highly recommend not enrolling your child in this school.

They have "life skills" and students are rewarded continuously for doing the right thing. They do more integrity among other important points of character

My son has been at this school from 1st grade through 3rd and we COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with our decision. I do not know why this school os not rated as a 10! He has a severe but allergy and they are wonderful with making sure he is safe in his class as well as in the cafeteria. He is NOT excluded from any activities and the staff and teachers take the time to know you and address concerns immediately. The principal (Mrs. Jackson) is outside in the morning to greet every student.

I can not say enough good things about Spring Valley Elementary! We are a military family and we are raising our nephew. He has been attending Spring Valley Elementary since Kindergarten and is currently in First Grade. He currently has an IEP and has always struggled with emotional and behavioral issues caused by the stress of family situation. In Kindergarten he was constantly in trouble and there seemed to be no end in site. After staying in contact with the school including the principal Mrs. Jackson-the decision to put him in a program called TLC was made starting this year-First grade. It has been the best decision my husband and I have made. My nephew is showing vast improvement and it would not be possible with out the help of his teacher, Mrs. Breese, his paras, school counselor, and Mrs. Jackson. I was so skeptical of Kansas and have been amazed by the caring and knowledgeable people here. It is an awesome school for any child and it's a blessing to know that a child that struggles with other issues gets the help they need to succeed. If you are an involved parent-which helps your child succeed-the school is right there with you. Thank you Spring Valley!

Spring Valley is a great school! My kids have been going there since it opened. All of the teachers are amazing! The Principal is very nice and she interacts with the kids and you can tell she loves what she does. The kids get to do personal best activities. Each morning all of the kids use sign language to do their life skills song. The school has lots of military children and kids come and go. Has great technology in the classrooms! The parking lot is a little small and dropping kids up and off is a pain.

If your child is coming from another state with an IEP or a 504 accommodation plan, do not enroll your child into this school. The staff may appear to be nice but they will try to do everything they can do drag their feet with following your child's IEP or 504 due to lack of experience with implementing and monitoring/measuring IEPs and 504s AND due to the lack of funding. The sole purpose is to have the IEP or 504 downgraded or dare I say it, discontinued?! They do not provide feedback to show how your is doing academically because you barely receive any teacher graded / checked work the kids do on paper. Parent volunteering is not encouraged so you do really see whats goings on. We military families suffer a lot due to moving around and having to leave great schools for lousy ones. This is our second rotten egg school since we left Hawaii.

Spring Valley is a great school. This is our fifth year and I have 3 children now in the school. The teachers are the best. Mrs. Jackson is awesome. Most importantly, my children love getting up and going to school. As a previous military family I have been exposed to many educational systems and I can say that Spring Vally gives stability to all the kids. The school has alot of military children and Mrs. Jackson knows exactly how to make the all feel at home and loved. The school understands the needs of military children, especially during deployments. I love Spring Valley.

My daughter attended Kindegarten at Spring Valley and had a wonderful experience. Not only is it a beautiful and new schoo, the faculty and staff are great. They all have good values and really care about the kids. Her teacher was great and the really had a heart for the kids in the school who needed extra help. My daughter was not one of those, but you could really see how the school tries to meet all of the needs. Great location and easy to get to.
