My son attended Henry Leavenworth from 1st - 5th grade (just entered 6th this year 2018). The staff at Henry make this elementary school top notch. We had such an amazing experience there. The teachers were so supportive and encouraging as was the administration. Absolutely would recommend Henry over any other school, including private schools, in Leavenworth!

We hear from the school whenever our child has been the initiator or recipient of name calling or hitting.

Mr. Lunsford handles miabehavior very well. He is very personable with kids and parents as well. Also, I knew someone who worked for him who said he is a great boss.

My sons a comodations have been followed. The school counselor has been very helpful.

The school counselor works with the kids during Library on different concepts.

The one drawback of the school is the large class sizes. The school is overcrowded; my child has 24 kids in his Kindergarten class. Many people with kids are moving to this attendance district, making the school crowded. That said, there are many experienced teachers, my son loves school, and he has learned a lot.

My Kindergarten son has homework, but we are not required to do it. The homework is reviewing concepts from class. We are going to work on it over the summer.

My sons teacher has been in the district for 20 years. My son loves having her as a teacher and has learned so much.

Students are always learning good citizen's values and any type of misbehavior is always addressed. Older students are constantly helping the younger ones, and bullying is not acceptable.

My son is a kindergartener at this school, and I have to say is an OK school. His teacher seems very disengaged, which worries me. The school year is about to end, and to be honest he can't wait to be over with it. He went from being very interested in school and willing to learn, to be bored out of his mind due to not being challenged. I love the fact that everyone knows the kids by their name and are always keeping an eye on them, including the people from the cafeteria. PTO is OK, but there is room for improvement.

Class sizes are too big with no teacher aid and they do not encourage parents to get involved or volunteer. The PTA is a small group of friends who have meetings at their house and do not let anyone else join, and then use funds to buy each other "thank you" gifts for the end of the year. Never have we felt so unwelcome. The school has ridiculous policies about lunch, recess and homework for k-2 grade. Academics seem secondary to policy here and it shows in the students. I had to remove my child from this school.

My son's 1st grade teacher Ms. Schawlm is amazing. So informative and he just loves having her. I feel like he is so loved an welcomed in her class also.

Excellent school with great communication. I never feel like I cannot approach my child's teacher to gain information or just to ask how my child is doing. My child's teacher is very forthcoming with progress and behavior updates. The Principal sends out communications often via phone dialer and I receive emails from the school regularly with updated information.
