I am a 9th grader. I do not recommend this school. As other reviews have mentioned, the curriculum is very intense. The homework seems constant and never ending, and the teachers dont care about how much students have on their plates. My biggest criticism of this school is how frequently students are tested. On average, ive had 3+ tests a week, ranging all the way from that to multiple every day. There is barely any time to work on homework during school without sacrificing lunch and elective time if possible. The teachers act like students are dumb or lacking because they don’t understand topics. This school is a perfect demonstration of favoritism among educators and students.

I have been going to Patton for the past 2 years and I have been enjoying every bit of it. I have been learning a lot the past year in a half. The teachers are great. They give out the appropriate homework and teach us everyday. Some of the teachers even laugh at some of the jokes the students make and don't just send them to the office or tell them to stop and keep teaching. There is also elective classes that the students can take to see what they could be interested in for the future. There is drama, singing, debate, art, broadcasting technology, study skills, and more. There is also a pretty good selection of sports throughout the year. I really like this school and I am thinking of coming here for 9th grade.

Patton has an intense curriculum. My son is in 7 th grade and has a 4.0 grade average, but this has come at a social sacrifice. There is a lot of homework and constant testing. We are so proud that he tested at a 10 th grade level in both Math and English , but are debating if he really needs to be at a 10th grade level in 7th grade. The teachers are wonderful and easy to communicate with, but the curriculum is non stop, which is not the teacher's fault , (core curriculum and state standards.) I am worried my son may burn out before high school. We are very loyal to the school district , but debating whether a more balanced life is better for our child. I want him to be in the best academic school possible and Patton is definitely that, but I don't want my son to miss out on fun at weekends or social events because he wants to obtain great grades. Patton is an amazing school with amazing people and will prepare my son academically for a great future, however, he is missing out on a childhood now due to homework and constant revising for tests. As a parent it is a dilemma to know what is the best thing to do.

At Patton Jr. High, the homework that the teachers give out is unbelievable. It is like they think that their class is the only class that the students have/take. The teachers are not great either. Many times I have seen a student being mistreated because the teacher is having a bad day. I was also assigned a project to do over Christmas Break. I will definitively not be staying for 9th grade. I do not recommend sending your child to Patton Jr. High.

As the parent of a ninth grader, I am extremely pleased with Patton and the entire staff. My child has attended since 7th grade and had the option of going to the high school or staying at Patton. It was the absolute best decision we made to stay at Patton. Parent Communication is wonderful from every teacher we have ever dealt with and they are very knowledgeable on materials being taught. On Friday's the staff has Professional Development. The administration is very fair, consistent and concerned about the students well being.

I love this school with all my heart. I have been at this school for 7th,8th, and now 9th grade. The teachers are amazing and treat everyone nicely. Sadly, students can't see that and disrespect them. I have never had one issue with this school or the teachers in my years here. Students can come into school early or stay after for help, most choose not to and their grades suffer. I have not once seen a teacher disrespect a student, they will really respect you, unless you treat them badly. I love the music program too. I hope this review helped.

A student of this school.

I am a ninth grader at Patton Junior High School. I am giving this school a terrible review for many reasons. First, the teachers are awful. They should be trained how to properly teach a student. They have no respect for students and whenever a student asks for help most teachers give an attitude. They treat the students like they're stupid for asking a simple question. Last time I checked that's what a teacher is for. Most ninth grade teachers at this school single students out. You can clearly tell when a teacher has a favorite student because whenever that individual does something wrong the teacher is fine with it but if it's any other student they'll get yelled at or sent to the office. Second, the people working in the cafeteria are horrible. All students in every grade get treated like five year olds. They force us to raise our hands to get up and dump our trays. They might as well change their name to Patton Elementary School. Third, being on a sports team at this school is very embarrassing. They do not provide many sports for students unlike other local high schools but yet they still expect students to enjoy this school. I would not recommend sending your child to this school. The teachers are horrible and the school itself is awful.

The teachers at this school are fantastic. They care about student learning and are available during advisory sessions to give kids extra help. The school has a challenging curriculum and incorporates technology to enhance student learning.

Best Junior High in the nation. Everyone knows no school in the area comes close to Patton's academic so I thought I would focus on the other aspects. I attended Patton in the 9th grade and played football and basket ball. In the spring I played baseball for the local High School. I truly believe that playing with the small football team there at Patton showed me what it takes to be a winner. I played Colligate football for the University of Alabama and had multiple baseball scholarships coming out of high school. The teachers, students and lessons learned there will always stay with you and I am very proud to have attended Patton Jr High. I still try to keep in touch with my friends from back then. Class of 1997.
