Kids get hurt and sick at this school all the time and teachers never no how. They ask us to provide all that school and cleaning supplies at the beginning of the year for your child to barely have any of their own and constantly getting sick in the environment. The special education teachers obviously have absolutely no training and blame everything on the kids. My son is 5 and autistic is labeled as a runner and supposed to have someone holding his hand almost all the time (they don't). They make it seem like he is bad because he has a hard time sitting still. He is very specific about his food choices so for the 1st three months of school he was not eating ALL day. I was not informed that he wasn't eating or napping (as a kindergartener) until our quarterly meeting. I was told by another parent who went to have lunch with their kid, that they seen my son sitting under the lunch table crying because he did like the food but was really hungry. I plan to call social services on them. The went on a "freedom walk" around the school for the 9/11 victims and luckily I showed up that day to watch because his teacher didn't even notice that he had eloped out of the line of children. I told the teacher that she should have noticed or at lease apologize and blame it on not having enough help. Instead, she suggested I teach my son to not elope and help him understand the consequences of it. On top of that she denied that he eloped in the 1st place, saying he was "with her the whole time until he was with me" like duh. When 3 other parents and I watched as she never noticed. I told the principal and she thought it was an appropriate time to crack a joke while I was visibly shaking while informing her of the incident. Another time last year a random kid in my son's class decided to attack him by biting through his sweater, shirt, under shirt and through the skin on his back before it was even noticed. And after they pulled him off my son the kid tried to run and do it again. Nothing was done about it.

Our family’s experience at Morris Hill Elementary was deeply concerning and ultimately led us to withdraw our child.
During our time at the school, our child experienced significant emotional distress that escalated rather than improved. Despite repeated communication and requests for support, we observed a pattern of reactive discipline, frequent classroom changes, and decisions made without meaningful collaboration with us as parents.
We became increasingly concerned about how behaviors were interpreted during a period when our child was clearly struggling emotionally. Supports felt inconsistent, and evaluations were discussed based largely on observations made during that distress, rather than on a holistic understanding of our child.
Since leaving Morris Hill and transitioning to homeschooling, our child has shown clear improvement — emotionally, behaviorally, and academically — which reinforces our belief that the school environment was not meeting their needs.
While individual staff members may have good intentions, our experience reflects systemic issues around communication, student support, and responsiveness to parental concerns. Families with children who are sensitive, neurodivergent, or experiencing stress should be aware and prepared to advocate persistently.
We hope the school will reflect on feedback like this and work toward more trauma-informed, collaborative approaches that prioritize emotional safety and partnership with families.

My son attended Kindergarten at Morris Hill in the 2011-2012 school year. The teachers and staff go above and beyond to help their students. The teachers are highly skilled and knowledgeable with their grade level curriculum and they try their best to meet the needs of all students in their classrooms. I also really liked that the school had the latest technology in the classrooms available for students and teachers to use. The principal was very approachable and interacted with the students on a daily basis. This is a GREAT school! Very sad we are moving and won't be attending next year. I highly recommend Morris Hill to anyone moving to Fort Riley.

My son goes to kindergarten at this school. From orientation, to the start of school, report cards, education, parent/teacher involvement, and atmosphere it is a great place for kids to learn. I can say nothing but positive things about this school. My son loves going to school, he has learned so much. The teachers and staff are top notch. I would highly recommend it to any parent.

Love MORRIS HILL!!! Been going for three years and the children love their teachers. We moved to another house on post and still kept our children in their "second home". Ms. Bowman is AMAZING along with Mrs. Laderio. The only down fall I have is the bullying. Its in all schools and I understand that, however, the kids walk and continue to torment the other kids. Parents are also not involved in the school what so ever.
